‘Da Tian Ting!’ Shang Duan Hua called. ‘You’re twenty-eight. You’re not child anymore. Acting childish will only make people hate you more.’
‘If you hate me then why did you save me?’ Da Tian Ting asked.
‘Saved you?’ Shang Duan Hua asked.
Shang Duan Hua wanted to lie and say he saved Da Tian Ting, but a nurse told them off for disturbing other patients.
‘This is a hospital not the markets,’ the nurse said. ‘Don’t disturb patients resting. Miss, your doctor discharged you. You’re free to go. Take good care of your body.’
‘Thank you,’ Da Tian Ting said.
‘Miss, I’m envious of you,’ the nurse said. ‘You have a handsome and caring boyfriend. He took care of you the whole night. He went out to get you breakfast.’
‘My boyfriend?’ Da Tian Ting asked.
Da Tian Ting didn’t know she had a boyfriend. Did that mean Shang Duan Hua wasn’t the man who saved her?
‘Nurse, is this the man who took me to the hospital last night?’ Da Tian Ting asked.
‘No,’ the nurse said. ‘Don’t tell me the handsome man who took you to the hospital last night isn’t your boyfriend.’
‘He’s not my boyfriend,’ Da Tian Ting said.
Da Tian Ting thought the man who saved her must be a good man. He didn’t know her, but he took care of her last night. She was happy Shang Duan Hua wasn’t the man who saved her.
‘Miss, you can leave anytime,’ the nurse said and walked outside.
Shang Duan Hua was frustrated Da Tian Ting acted like he didn’t exist. He held Da Ming Sheng’s hand, and took her outside. Why didn’t he want the nurse to tell Da Tian Ting the truth that he wasn’t the man who saved her?
Da Ming Sheng didn’t want Shang Duan Hua to think about Da Tian Ting. She was going to everything to be Mrs Shang.
