"You got so serious over that. I was just joking. I will not interfere but I was trying to lighten your mood, Darling. Come let's go get some food. I wonder what is on the menu for dinner today? I think I can pick up the smell of corn fritters." Kitty giggles and starts to pull Leo to the dining room.
"You got me this time." Leo walked with her to the dining room and on the table were various types of ribs and wings. Leo pulled out Kitty's chair and pushed her in after she was seated. He sat down in his chair and then smiled as Kitty looked at the food. Leo picked a few different wings and some ribs along with a couple of the sides.
Carlos came out to the dining room and placed down the corn fritters. "I hope this is enough for everyone but if you need more I have more in the kitchen. So please enjoy."
Kitty started to take a little of everything but the ones that looked spicy. As she picked things from the table she found a wing that was covered in dill and her mouth watered. Kitty took a few of them and then grabbed some corn fritters. She started to eat and as she ate she started to feel her hunger satisfied. She could hear and see everyone's life energy now and it was strange to see but she shook her head and the sight went back to normal. 'These powers are tricky. I hope that I can gain control over the next little while unless there is a reason I need to see this then I will keep track of what is going on. I will take note for now and when I think I need to check something I do so.' She finished all the dill wings on her plate and then ate the corn fritters.
Luke had grabbed as much as he could and started to eat the food trying to make sure that he didn't show how embarrassed he was after overhearing what Kitty said to Leo. 'I am worried that my mother is going to pick out a girlfriend for me and I am not ready to have a girlfriend yet. I want to decide on that when the timing is right and right now there is way too much going on at this time to even think about a girlfriend. I will be protective of my sibling that is for sure though. I will love the child unconditionally, whether it is a girl or a boy.'
Cindy sat down at the table and grabbed some of the ribs. "Did you have a good afternoon Kitty?"
"Yes, it was a lot of fun but also it was a little sad. I got a lot of sad information. I am glad that I found out this information. Now that I have this information I think that it will help Leo with his work. I will do all that I can to help him out but that information was so deeply saddening." Kitty finished her food and then left the table. "I will go lay down. I have been sleepy since lunchtime and I think I should go rest for now."
"Okay, my love. Go have a good rest. I will come to bed after I finished dinner. Go rest." Leo looked at Kitty and smiled sweetly.
Kitty left the room and went to the bedroom and laid down on the bed. As soon as her head hit the pillow she passed out.
Carlos looked at what Kitty ate and shook his head. "I think that she is suffering more than she is letting on. What exactly did you show her that set her off to the point that she would be so tired and cry so much?"
"I got some papers and I didn't have the time to skim through them all but I did the best I could. I stopped reading after I saw my parents' I didn't think of reading further but I should've. At the end of the reports was the one about her parents. So it was hard on her. That was my bad and I should've glanced through everything." Leo stopped eating and just sat there.
"There is no way that you would've thought that her parents' would be mentioned in the reports." Ketan walked through the door and sat down at the table. "I came back because I felt something was off in the air. I am sensitive to emotions which is strange to a vampire but it also comes in handy. I'm sensitive to those I am close to and not just anyone else. It is worse for those that I have drank their blood in the past. There is not a lot of humans or supernaturals blood I have tasted and only two of the beings are still alive. I did not kill the others, they died from old age. Kitty knows these stories but if you would like to hear them I will tell you all about them." Ketan picked up the empty glass and poured some juice in it and downed it in one go.
Luke looked at Ketan excited, "I have said this before I want to know all that I can. If you are willing to share I will listen, that is if I am allowed?" He looked at Leo.
"I will not deny you the knowledge, Luke. Feel free to learn from Ketan. It is not everyday a vampire is willing to share their information of their past with others. You should thank your mother for this opportunity. Kitsune knows more about people than others." Leo looks at the two sitting to his left.
"I am very curious about what Ketan has to say. As you said Leo it is rare to hear a vampire's story. I have had a short life so far and my life is longer than a fox demon's but only by a hundred years." Carlos shakes his head and looks at Cindy.
"This may come as a surprise to all of you but I am older than I seem. Kitty is twenty-six and I am turning fifty this year. My life is already one-third of the way complete. I do not look a day over twenty-five. We fox demons start aging at one hundred once again." Cindy looks at Carlos.
"I thought so. The way the fox demons age and the way you act, you keep up that you are young while you have too much knowledge like being a midwife. Anyways since we are all in favor I will tell you a story. When I was younger I met a human that wanted to be a vampire. To scare the human I showed her my fangs and placed my fangs at her neck but you know what all she did was squeal in delight. I sighed and then brought her back to the house because I did that Sylvie gave me quite an earful. She called me all sorts of names and told me that the human was now my responsibility. So I let her live her human years with us. I never took her blood but she was so content with living with us she never asked for more. She died in one of the guest rooms but her dying wish for me was not to turn her but to drink her blood. It was at that time that I finally bit her but I didn't drink the blood. She smiled and parted from this world. It was not cruel of me to let her think that after all that time, I drank her blood but at least I gave her what she wanted the most." Ketan closed his eyes and thought back to that night. "You have to understand that I was trying my best to not drink human blood at that time so I didn't want to actually drink it down. In case I went crazy."
