"I think that she will stick around for as long as she can. She seems to have an attachment to Kitty and Luke already. So we will be seeing more of her." Nettie was tossing the stirfry in the pan and the chicken was sizzling in the pan next to her.
Tobias picked up the dishes and started to leave the kitchen. "I'll be back to help you in a moment." He took the dishes to Tiana and placed them down right next to her plate.
"Thank you! Tiana will enjoy the good food you bought for her." She quickly dipped the chicken strip into the sauce and bit into the strip.
Kitty giggled at Tiana, "you, my dear, are so precious. I am glad that you were saved and have come to live with us. I trust that you will be happy here. If you have any problems you can talk to any of the adults in the house. Luke, I am glad that you like your burger. It is important that you eat enough food for your body to metabolize."
Luke put his burger down and smiled at Kitty. " It is okay, Mother. I am used to eating a lot. This is something that I need to do either way. I was worried that Tiana would struggle with the whole food thing but here she is doing so well."
"She is only a child so there is so much that she does not know. One day she will grow into a fine woman but until then she will be safeguarded by us supernaturals. It will be hard on her as she does not know our way of doing things but one day she will understand that we can not help who we are. She will be on our side even though she will not understand what being on a side means." Kitty pulled a hair stand from Tiana's face and placed it behind her ear.
"Thank you, Mommy. The food is so good. Tiana is such a lucky girl." She looked at Kitty and then at Luke and she smiled.
Luke grabbed a napkin and wiped the corner of her mouth. "I think I get what you are saying, Mother. I know that Tiana will have to make her choice but if it comes to war, what will we do then? She is but a child and cannot make the choice right now. Will you hide her away or send her to a human household?"
Kitty sighs, "I have not made a decision on that yet. I do not think that I am ready to think about it yet. As bad as that sounds I do not know what I will do."
"Tiana does not want to be separated from mommy. I love Mommy, Baby, Big Brother, Auntie, and even the scary lady. Tiana does not want to leave. She wants to stay with you guys." Tiana stopped eating and grabbed Luke's arm.
"Do not fret. We will not force you to do something that you do not want to do." Luke patting Tiana's head.
"I am so happy that you do not want to be separated from me as well. I thought that you would never say my name. Tiana I will help you stay with the family here or at least as much as I can to help out." Stella looked at Tiana and smiled sweetly.
"Do not worry, Tiana. I was merely thinking about what could happen in the future. At this point in time your are safest with us here at our place. I do not want any harm to come to you." Kitty reached over and patted her head affectionately.
Tiana looked at Kitty, "Mommy is not going to get rid of Tiana? Tiana's last parents said that they would give Tiana away a lot. Tiana was worried that you would not want Tiana anymore."
"I will not get rid of Tiana. If you go somewhere it will only be for a short time. I do not want my little girl to be in danger. I would come back for you. Do not fret over this. It was only a conversation about what could happen. Besides who will play with all the toys that you got if I gave you to another family. The baby might be a girl or a boy so there is no way of knowing if the baby will be able to use Tiana's toys." Kitty comforted Tiana.
Tiana wrapped her arms around Kitty's waist or at least tried to and the baby kicked Tiana's little arm. "Tiana felt the baby move!" She placed her cheek on Kitty's belly, "Baby, please come out soon so that Tiana can see you and give you a hug." The baby kicked by Tiana's cheek.
"Look even the baby is saying that it wants to meet you." Kitty touched Tiana's head, "do not worry I will not let you suffer. I am your adopted mother now and I promise I will take care of you."
Nettie knocked on the door and opened it and place down the burger in front of Cindy and placed the stir fry in front of Stella. "I will be back with your strawberry tea set. I have a little more work to do with it. It will only take a moment." She left and smiled as she walked back to the kitchen. 'It is good to know that she is looking to the future for the child and not just blindly adding more trouble for herself.'
Cindy picked up her burger and smiled at how good it looked. "This smells phenomenal. I bet that all the food form this store sells really well." Outside in the Cafe, a group of people entered and look at the booth only to see that it was being occupied. The man in charge of the group walks up to Tobias. "I want the booth."
"I am sorry but that was reserved for the group that is in there. I can not ask my guests to move just because you want them to move." He polished a glass while replying to them.
