Seeing that it was already dark, Henry asked them to go home. While they were walking, he asked them about the progress of their herb garden.

"Ask him" Helen pouted at Francis.

"Oh really? It was me? You did not even help"

"I am an eldest miss, why would I toil?"

They went on a staring match again.

Cheska explained what happened to the herb garden. The soil was plowed but it needed to be plowed again. She also described that the strength of Francis was overwhelming. It was like he was plowing a sand. The soil which was hard and sticky did not mean much in his hands.

Francis walked out after saying goodbye to Cheska, Henry and Madel. He turned around without even looking at Helen.

Helen smirked and stuck her tongue out the back of Francis.

At the carriage Cheska gave Henry the plan for the herb garden. They were seated together. Madel was seating in front beside Helen.

After giving suggestions to Cheska he went in front to ask Helen to seat at the back.

Helen felt jealous again. Henry wanted to seat with Madel.

[How can this man be so close to her and she can't even notice it]

"Hi Madel." Henry greeted.

Madel who was just started to close her eyes opened it and saw Henry.

Earlier when he saw him seat beside Cheska she felt so jealous. But, she simply closed her eyes and accept that she cannot take him all for herself.

"How many herbs have you collected?" He asked.

"Huh?" Madel was confused for a second. She looked at him with misty eyes.

"Have you started collecting the herbs Madel? We need that" He started to become sassy again.

He remembered that Madel went to the apothecary hall to see Tristan. He did not know but he felt annoyed.

"Just tell me when you need the herbs Henry. If you want I can give you a list of the herbs and you can choose."

"You can coordinate to Cheska about that."

"I already did, but we appreciate your inputs."

She wanted to sleep again but Henry took out a book about herbs.

"do you have these?" pointing at a picture of an herb.

Having an all-seeing eye does not mean that she can remember everything. In fact, it makes her

forget the things that were not deemed as necessary by the brain. She has a very selective memory. Being bombarded by a lot of images from the first to the seventh dimension all at once can be overwhelming.

"I'm not sure, perhaps I have one." She said.

"this one, do you have it?"

"I don't know either." She pressed her lips then gave him her storage ring. "Here, just look, I have some dried herbs there that I use for studying. If it's in there, it means that I can get a seed or a stem for our garden."

Madel positioned herself comfortably near the window and closed her eyes to sleep. Henry took it and immediately scanned what is inside her storage ring.

[it's not here] he thought about the gift that he saw earlier.

Madel's storage ring look like a small room with a over a thousand small drawers. The small drawers contain a sample of each dried herb. It also has a small table where their fruit box is placed. There were four books and a notebook on the floor. There was nothing more in that cramped space.

He looked at the drawers and found that it was filled with dried herbs.

Henry knows how dangerous it was for Madel to show her cards. It was for the best that she maintains a humble disposition. At least his friend knows how to preserve her life. Almost half of the herbs in her collection are rare. The cost of rare herbs in the market ranges from one to one thousand Florin stone. One Florin stone, per Cheska's understanding costs twenty five thousand dollars each back on earth. From her response, sit seems that those were all just a sample and she can get more if he wanted to.

Having no one to protect her and not even the strength to protect herself Madel is as good as dead

if the public learns about her herbs.

[but wait, if the gift is not here, where could it be? What could it be?]

Seeing it was not there made him felt relieved. As of why? He did not know himself. He rested his head to sleep as well, he remembered the life and death battle. It was indeed a lousy choice to select the weakest student and make them surrender before the battle starts. But, each student in the physician hall is deemed precious. Not one must be harmed.

His inner thoughts battled from being annoyed with the rules, with the principal and to himself. Physicians are often sent into the battle grounds. They are also specifically chosen by combat teams to ensure higher survival rate during a mission.

Physicians are inevitably a part of the rescue team if there are any disaster or terrorism. Having a strong physique and knowledge in the battle is a passport to survival. The winner of the life and death battles are usually given a high seat in a combat team or any team in a mission. That is even higher if they are physicians.

He sighed. He looked at Madel who curled herself in the corner of the seat away from him. She was peacefully sleeping unaware of the danger that she would face.

At the back, Cheska looked down and started massaging her head. The sorrow in her eyes were obvious and Helen saw it. She immediately moved beside her and hugged her with both of her hands and one feet. Cheska was surprised.

"Helen what are you doing?"

"Feels nice to be hugged, isn't it?" she smiled innocently.

"this is inappropriate Helen. Please move."

"nope, it feels nice like this."

Cheska tried to push her but she held on her tightly. It was indeed nice to be hugged. Back on earth, hugging was all normal between friends. Male, female, opposite sex, same sex it did not matter if it felt nice. She lived in a liberated country so it was usual.

Henry looked at them with one of his eye brows raised.

[Helen, don't be like a child. Sit properly. We are in a public place.] the eyebrow told Helen everything.

But it was not just Henry who knows how to raise an eye brow. She raised both of her eyebrows in response. She then raised it multiple times and teased him.

"So nice in here Henry." Helen said while smiling sweetly.

"Sit properly" he said firmly.

She already responded with a pout and kept her face in Cheska's shoulder.

Henry rested his head and tried to sleep again. His friends are becoming weirder each day.

[anyway, we are not even sure if we will still live tomorrow. I will just let time help me decide]

He hasn't dismissed the threat of the shadows. It was best not to let their guards down. Madel who was sleeping peacefully fell into Henry's shoulder. He created a spiritual barrier once again around them to make sure that she will not be awakened by any noise.

Helen at the back felt hurt as she saw Madel sleep on Henry's shoulder. [calm down heart, there is no need to get hurt.] she comforted herself. There were tears lining her eyes and her chest felt so sour. Helen smiled bitterly. She consciously feels something towards Francis but her heart yearns for someone else. [will this emotion last? Its making me crazy]. On the other hand, Cheska rested her elbow in the window and looked outside.
