Chapter 38

The eerie cemetery might makes the creeps of all players who enters here for the first time. But for me, it no longer affects me. Quite the opposite in fact. I enjoyed the darkness and eerie atmosphere around here. I love the dangerous feeling here that allows me to train my fearlessness.

As I venture to the wide cemetery, stepping on a few bones alongside with Leona who occasionally pecks on the few bones scattered around, I finally found one of the enemies in this cemetery.

"Grim Skeleton"

Level 30

HP: 5,000/5,000

Attribute: Undead

The enemies here are all weak compared to my level so its going to be an easy ride. I decided to let Leona do the work so that she will level up. Even though she is in level 0, she can contend against these monsters without problem.

With a few hours of walk, she managed to raise from level 0 to level 41. All of the undead that tried to attack was first killed by her and I have not even tried beating the enemies. But sh*t, my knees are getting hurt and sore. Damn, even in virtual reality, I can t escape the pain in my feet. However, until now, I have not seen the boss at all.

"Ugh, quite tiresome. This guy was quite hard to track down," I groaned as I scratched my head.

I just hoped I had the skill clairvoyance but that skill is not yet implemented in the game as it was still not patched. It can see any enemies in the nearby surroundings for 10 seconds. Hayyss, I just had a bad luck on tracking enemies.

After a few time of rest, I continued my search which is not fruitful at all. Quite hard and tiring. I shook my head and once more, I ventured on the place. Why I didn't use Leona? She is too weak to fly above. The boss I am hunting can kill her in just a sword throw. I still remembered one of my guild mates mentioned that he was one of those players who hunted the boss. One of his party members used his mount that he bought using real money to scope where it was and got killed after shot by the sword throw of the boss. With that, I did not dare use her as a scope to look for the target. But this is quite tiring and I am even tempted to fly up in the sky ad survey the place.

"No, Leona is hard to come by, I had no intention of sacrificing her just to find the target," I mumbled.

Just as I was pondering on it, a loud roar and a huge tremor occurred. I remembered this tremor and roar. I can't be wrong since I have already get accustomed to this one and I can't be wrong.

"Leona! Let's go!"

With that, I quickly used Silent Sprint and headed to the direction of the roar. Pulling out the sword and the scroll, I made immediate preparation.

About a few meters of running, I saw the dark mist enveloping. And also the boss.

"Undying Purgatory Giant"

Level 50

HP: 3,000,000/3,000,000

Attribute: Undying, Undead

The reason it has an undying attribute is due to the fact that it was unkillable. Wait, that is not right, it was killable however it will resurrect once. Undying are bothersome monsters. They will revive after death with full HP which is obviously really annoying. What made me frown is the level and HP it has. If it was challenged in the Lesser Purgatory, it will only have 1,000,000 HP and even in Abyss Mode, its HP did not reach 3,000,000 and only around 2,500,000 HP.

What makes me frown is that his size is much bigger than what I can remember. I remembered that he is a bit bigger than me but not THIS big! He is twice bigger than what I can remember!

But, I did not bother to make a fuss on it. Let's do the killing instead.

"Critical Aura!"

"Absolute Defense!"

Kill!

I opened the Fireball Scroll.

"Fireball!"

-1000 Critical!

Ugh! Too high defense! Even with a critical hit, it only inflicted 1000 damage! With a strong maneuver of my feet, I made a slide underneath him and quickly changed my weapon into a gun.

"Bullet Barrage!"

-120

-123

-119

-121

A series of 120 up damage appeared but man! This is so frustrating!

The Undying Purgatory Giant made a raise on its feet. Before the foot of the boss hit me, I managed to stay away from the hit but the shockwave made a huge damage to me!

-2,999!

Ugh! My limbs hurt and it was a very bad experience. Almost all of my HP are gone in an instant! I made a sudden sprint away from him and cast Shadow Clone to deal with him for sometime while I was healing.

"Healing Heart!"

"Sanctuary of the Sick!"

"Divine Healing!"

I spammed the three skills. I got reckless! What made me nervous is the fact that I forgot to bring any potions. What made me frown is that it is a bad idea to abandon a boss in battle unless one of the two sides fell. Especially going to the town while still having the boss on trail. And I can't afford to die either.

"I need to persevere!"

Before my HP is fully filled, the boss has already done wiping out the auto controlled Shadow Clones. Its not enough to buy time. The boss used his big *ss shield to bash me through. I changed my weapon into a hook and throws it to a nearby pillar before retracting it to pull me along. The shield barely hit me but luckily, it missed.

Leona was on the further side of the Cemetery dealing with the swarming ghouls and undead trying to attack me. She can't help me on this. I pulled out another scroll and once again, activated the Fireball. I need to take a few points of MP this time. With the the strong powers of the boss, I need to spam a few skills in succession and those skills cost quite a fee MP and despite the fast recovery, its not enough to fill the MP bar immediately back to full.

I used the hook to escape and changed my weapon into a bow and began charging it up. What makes the bow unique is due to its charging ability to increase critical rate on targets. I aimed, nock and fire the arrow in a quick succession.

-999 Critical!

-999 Critical!

...

Series of 999 criticals is are all appearing above the boss's head. When the boss once again raised his sword, I didn't bother staying in place. A single hit from that can kill me and flatten me. Before the sword hits, I once again used the Hook and pulled me away from danger.

BANG!

The sword destroyed the ground that received it's impact. It made a crater.

"F*ck! Thought I was a goner!" Sh*t if I am not a Versatile, I might die earlier!

I didn't bother killing a few mobs in abyss mode but this monster is now different than usual. Seeing the cool down of Shadow Clone done, I once again cast the skill and pulled out the Scroll.

"F*cker! Fall!"

I never expected that I managed to survive. What made me happy on this guy is its slow movement. Quite opposite on the battle I remembered in Abyss Mode.

"Freezing Prison!"

"Thy power of the placid waters, heed my call thy which slice thy enemies to pieces, Water Blade!"

"Thunderbolt!"

I spammed my skills once more releasing heavy amount of damage to the boss. However, I can say that it is not enough! Before I can continue to attack, the boss swings the sword in a quick succession which made me almost got cut to death if not for ducking in time. The sword that the boss wields destroyed the pillar that got hit instead and got broken to pieces.

"Whew!" I sighed in relief because I almost died!

Before I managed to relax, another sword strike once again swings into my direction!

"F*ck!"

I cussed before ducking again. This time, its very low and if I did not perform the dogeza formation,in time, I will be dismembered or got sliced in half. Quite chilling!

It HP is still 98%. I barely managed to inflict any damage against the boss but no, I can still fight it back!
