...

Meanwhile, inside Burning Orient's training room.

A tube-like gaming cabin slowly opened, alighting from it was a good-looking, blue-haired teenager, around the age of Al. He was wearing a white shirt with an 'ignited black pearl' badge pinned on his right chest.

"Is he really a prodigy?" Murmurs echoed in the room as the other trainees witnessed the live stream of Zaito's match. As the top in his batch, all other members were required by the guild trainer to observe the boy's game.

Zaito's expression was dead serious as he immediately headed towards the exit, not paying any attention to the scrutiny and degrading looks around the room.

Guarding the door was a blue-colored, short-haired female. "I'm not happy with your performance. Starting tomorrow, you'll stop playing 'Ranked Mode - Solo,' and join the other prodigies in a party. Do you understand?"

"Yes, Sister." Zaito's head hung low as he paused on the doorstep.

"Stop the drama. Immediately proceed with the other training modules. You're already a day behind against your rivals from the other guilds. Don't forget that the Rookie Challenge for Guilds will be two weeks from now. You need to power-level that account, and enter the Open World as soon as possible, or else, the guild won't be able to help you at all! Also, instruct the intelligence officer to investigate this 'Udil.' This is my first time to hear about a hidden class, below level 20." Zaito's sister coldly instructed.

Zaito grimaced upon hearing the name. He was still at a loss with his defeat. Not daring to waste the remaining time, he just simply nodded, and briskly left the room.

...

The room was dimly lit when Al opened his eyes. He found himself comfortably placed on his bed. Beside him was a wooden bed tray table, filled with a plate of freshly-made egg sandwich, and a sparkling glass of orange juice.

"Mom?" Al spiritlessly groaned.

He surveyed the room, searching for his gaming helmet. Again, he surveyed.

"Shit! Where's my 'battle station'?" His previously drained body suddenly jump-started at the thought of his missing gaming gears.

Al hurriedly jumped from his bed. He did not pay attention to his hunger as the aroma of the food in his room amplified it.

"Fvck! Where's my phone? Mom? Mom!" Al went downstairs looking for his mom.

The boy found his mother in the living room. She was deeply asleep on the couch, with a TV controller in her right hand. Not daring to disturb the sleeping lioness, Al carefully made his way towards his mom's room.

"Damn! It's locked!" Al's mind whirled, not knowing what to do next. He tried scrounging the other parts of the house, and what he deemed as possible hiding places of his mom, but to no avail.

It was already 8:30 PM when he finished inspecting the house, spending thirty minutes in toing and froing. 'Urgh. Looks like, I really have to wake up the lioness.'

With a hungry stomach, Al slowly returned to the living room only to find an empty couch. 'Phew! Finally, she's already awake.'

"Finally, you're already awake!" Leaning on the stair's ceramic handrail was Marina.

Eeeeeek!

Al freaked out, caught surprised by his mother's grave and serious voice.

"Hehe. Hi, Mom." Judging by the tone of his mother, he knew that he was in deep trouble.

"Fix yourself and prepare for dinner. We have something to talk about." Marina demanded.

"But, mom....!" Al's inner rebel was starting to take control of the wheel.

"Enough of this, Al Gentrix! If you still want to recover your phone, do what I have told you!" Al gulped down, suppressed by his mother's humorless stare.

He grudgingly walked back to his room and prepared for dinner.

...

It was already 9 PM when Al and his mother ate their dinner. In the first 15 minutes, no one talked. Only the sound of heavy munching, the forceful use of spoon and fork serenaded the quiet night.

Not being able to endure the 'quiet game' of his mom, Al finally swallowed his pride and directly talked.

"I'm sorry, mom." He sheepishly confessed. However, he did not get any response from his mother.

"I...I...something strange happened mom, and it's hard to explain. Uhmm...by the way...where did you place my console and phone?" Al gritted his teeth as he finally expressed his concern.

"Your phone's in my room. As for that gaming console of yours, I had already disposed of it." Marina answered indifferently.

"WHAT!" Al stood up from his seat, the plates on the table trembled from his force.

"Sit down," Marina spoke with dead calm.

"But...! Mom...!" Al's stuttering stopped upon his Mother's gesture of 'don't speak.'

"Al. Please. Stop this already. It has already been two years since your dad had passed away. Can we already move on? Are you aware of what happened to you a while ago? You were unconscious, Al. Unconscious! This is already getting overboard, and I'm tired of putting up with your drama. Enough of these video games, and the 'Dad's Name Case'! End of story. This conversation is over. Hurry up, and go get some good rest. You still have a class tomorrow." Al's mother did not allow him to utter a single word, before heading to her room, leaving the boy, alone in the kitchen, with a broken heart and crushed spirit.
