[ VICTORY! ]

The bold and green word matched with the blare of a trumpet flashed in the screen of WisDOOM's members. It took almost fifteen minutes for the entire match to finish. Everything went fast and seemed to be surreal for the victors, but the system's announcement could not deny that they've really won against Burning Orient.

Al surveyed the staff and the book in his character's hands. To be exact, he was really looking at his disintegrating hands as the system was starting to transport their team, back to the lobby. 'We've really won against Burning Orient. Guys! We've won!'

Grinning, the boy shot a look around his teammates. Papa Bear was smiling too, like a madman, staring back at him with a funny face. CancerIsLife and Macca were still dumbfounded of what they have achieved as a first-time banded team. Meanwhile, SwitchFoot was already practicing his slash with his new-found weapon.

One by one, their characters disappeared in the Fireflies' Graveyard, returning to the lobby's interface.

The post-match result immediately appeared.

If one would compare the two teams by just relying on numbers, Burning Orient, which is higher by an average of two levels, than WisDOOM should have been the winner. Plus, the fact that they were already trained to work as a team, and this was just Al and his teammates' first match as a group, the odds should have favored the team of Divine Players. However, you'll never know until the competition is over. As long as there's time, anything could happen.

...

Inside Burning Orient's training camp, Zaito was still inside his tube-like gaming cabin. As much as possible, he didn't want to exit his station. His group was already building momentum and was on the brink of breaking through the Bronze Rank. However, he once again met Udil.

Unfortunately, Zaito lost a second time, under the hands of the same player.

Due to their defeat, they will have to wait again for the next day to grind some rank matches. The blue-haired boy clenched his fists as he finally pushed the door open. Just as he has expected, a lot of gazes were already locked onto him. Every stare was full of pity. He was being devaluated.

He looked around and saw his other four members already gathered in front of their trainer. Zaito's steps were heavy as he forced himself to join the huddle, which was situated in the middle of the crowd of spectating trainees.

"Nah. He's got the moves, but he lacks the foresight." A punk-looking boy chuckled to his seatmate as he sent a demeaning gaze towards Zaito.

"Yup. It looks like that we'll be the one to represent the guild, Aoki." A girl with pink hair answered while making sure that her voice could be heard throughout the training room. Zaito immediately shot her an annoyed look.

"Zaito. Hurry up!" A female with short blue hair wearing a blue shirt and camo shorts called out. She was obviously the trainer - Zaito's sister, Xoraida.

"Aye!" Zaito, who was previously in a serious temperament, was awkwardly jerked up by the high-pitched tone. The other trainees tried their best to suppress themselves from laughing, causing the boy to be embarrassed.

"I'm disappointed by the team's performance. Immediately head to the module room, and immerse yourself with the in-game data that we have gathered!" Xoraida's tone was dead serious as she gave her feedback.

"That's unfair! We were defeated because of the sudden arrival of the limited event! It was beyond our current knowledge of the game!" Zaito could not take the humiliation anymore. He finally managed to muster the courage as he defensively answered with a sharp tone.

Xoraida's eyes enlarged upon receiving the raised voice of Zaito. However, she immediately gathered her cool as she shot an authoritative gaze to everyone inside the room. "I don't care about your excuses. On the battlefield, you'll have to do everything to win! Tomorrow's your last chance to reach the Silver Rank, and if you still fail, I'll let Aoki and his group represent Burning Orient in the upcoming Rookie Challenge. Do you understand?"

Zaito gritted his teeth as he helplessly answered. "Aye."

...

Going back to WisDOOM, Al took off his gaming helmet as he shot a look at his team members inside their workshop. All of them were dumbfounded by what just happened.

They stared at each other for a while, before Solomon finally broke the silence with a cheery shout. "WE WON! WE WON!"

The grin on their faces finally revealed itself. Even Pat, who was previously smug, drew back his lips to show his happiness with his teeth.

"Whooooot! Congratulations, everyone! You are so awesome, Al! That army of undead and transforming weapon of yours are lit! I never thought that you're so good at playing! You should be the team captain!" Jack, their team captain, hollered as he ran to hug Al.

"Haha! Geez, you too and everyone! Pat, Harvy, and oh! Papa Bear! We need to add him to our group chat!" Al suddenly remembered as he merrily hugged Jack, he was somewhat embarrassed from the praise he had received. He was not used to these compliments.

"Of course! How could we forget about him! Send him this invite link, Al!" Solomon interjected as he gestured a 'put on your helmet' with his hand.

"Aye!" Al excitedly returned to his gaming helmet.

"Papa Bear! You did a great job! Please join this group chat!" He immediately sent a direct in-game message to the Orc player. After a few seconds, a pop-up from their server-built chat appeared.

[ Bertran Godofrodo has joined WisDOOM ]

"Hey! Why was I not the MVP!?" The user, named Bertran, immediately grumbled in the chat.
