Days passed by quickly but to the anxious family, every minute was like an eternity. They were waiting for the pre - screening results of that anonymous bone marrow donor.

Jim had finally revealed his illness to the family and admitted that he had been diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia when Jian was five years old. It was when he decided to register Gee's Cafe under Jia's name and Jian's Garden under Jian. And that was why he chose Anthon to be the developer of Jian's Garden. He just couldn't entrust his family to someone else. That was also his reason why he objected Anthon's decision to leave in order to move on. He knew he was dying.

Just like most doctors who were closed - minded or against integrative medicine, he was NOT also fully convinced about the potency of Hailey's Pills in curing the advanced stages of cancer. He may had believed that those were indeed effective but only in treating early stages and not on those terminal cases. Though he, himself, had witnessed how those registrants for Hailey's Pill Therapy had greatly improved, for him, they were only in a stage of remission.

Integrative Medicine is a form of medical therapy that combines practices and treatments from alternative medicine with conventional medicine. Examples of these are nutritional/ herbal therapy, acupuncture, oral stem cell therapy and lot others. Hailey's Pill Cancer Therapy fell under this category.

Anthon did not announce his homecoming because he was afraid that his presence might create an emotional disturbance to Jim. Anyone in his status would always feel insecurities and he did not want to hurt Jim more. He was afraid that he might be grieving ahead in the possibility that he and Jia would be reunited. That would be another pain he had to bear.

He spent his time instead in the completion of Jian's Garden and in the night, he went out with Anna. But during those nights in his bed, he just couldn't help himself in keeping his thoughts away from Jia.

One night, while he laid awake on his bed, a music that Jia always sang, was playing on the background. Its lyrics conveyed a sense of grief and sorrow and the sad flow of the music itself bore down into the deepest part of his heart.

It was a classic song by Barbra Streissand titled, "Some Good Things Never Last. "

"I've watched love get closer

And then fade away

I've seen you believe in me

I've seen you trying to stay

But what good is holding on

When you know

That all you can think about

Is letting go..."

As the music faded into the background, it was then that he realized his tears fell like torrents and drenched his pillow.

He saw her again in his mind, wrenching in too much pain as she said those most tormenting lines in his ear.

"Of the seven years we had been together until the day that Anthon left, a part of me was still crying for him...

"While Jim filled my life with so much love and thoughtfulness, this wicked heart was screaming for someone else.. "

In that moment, he was almost tempted to run and hug her. He was almost tempted to comfort her, but he could not. Anna was there, looking at his pained expression with silent tears in her eyes.

___

Dr. Grace noticed Dr. Aijohn's sadness. He was unusually silent. Jim's pills were getting fewer and fewer. And still, no one was willing to sell their stock back to him even if it would mean a great fortune.

"Dear, I called up Dr. Roy to ask about Dr. Jim. And he indeed confirmed that he was the one who assisted him in all his tests and treatments. How's Miss Wayne coping? " She asked while she turned to her side, rested an elbow on the bed and placed her head on her palm.

"Terrible. It's just so terrible to see her like that. I'm aching for her. "

"Do you still love her? " Finally, she was able to say it. It had been troubling her since the day she knew that, back then, he came back for her.

Aijohn removed his locked hands beneath his head and sat up straight.

"What are you talking about? "He looked at her sternly.

She pouted. "I'm...jealous of her. "

"My goodness! " He then tickled her until her giggling erased all doubts in her heart. And until it unusually made them turn off their lights at this hour of the day.

Finally, the pre - transplant evaluation results were in. The donor, thankfully, passed all the series of tests. Without any delay, the bone marrow transplant was scheduled.

The Wayne family gathered around as Jim was wheeled in to the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. Jia followed by his side until they reached the entrance. She then kissed his forehead as she tearfully whispered, "we're praying for you".

Halfway through the procedure, Koko came out to comfort her. They stood silently by the door as he wrapped his arm on her shoulders.

Later on, she glanced up at Koko and wanted to say something.

"What is it? " He asked.

"Bring me to the donor. I want to thank him. "

Aijohn was startled and was hesitant but in the end, he gave in. He slowly guided her towards a patient's room but gestured that he would just wait outside.

She gazed into his eyes as she sensed that there was something strange in his behaviour before she walked forward to open the door.

The moment she stepped inside, she suddenly got startled. She stepped backward...

She even instantly wanted to turn back but, somehow, her feet were pinned to where she stood! When she finally gathered her strength to turn towards the door, his voice rang in her ears.

"Jia... "

She paused...and then hesitated to turn towards him again. He was on a high back rest in his bed. And a woman who was sitting on a bedside chair was leaning on his chest while his right arm was wrapping her around.

However, she knew that she should not be affected. She gathered back her strength and turned towards them with an unreadable expression.

"Ton..."
