Mo Cuicui chided, “Don’t you dare spread your lies!”

Chu Li shook his head. “Why would they come after me even though we have no relations whatsoever before this? Well, it means that their actions have been orchestrated by someone else. Since the only person that I got on the wrong side of is Altar Leader Mo, it only makes sense that Altar Leader Mo has offered them some kind of remuneration.”

“Lies! My father is not that kind of man!” Mo Cuicui snorted, “Speak any more lies and you’ll be punished!”

Chu Li shook his head. “All I’m saying is that I’m disappointed in Altar Leader Mo. It’s no wonder that Mo Qingqing committed those acts. After all, she’s been influenced by that uncle of hers, who would attempt to achieve his goals, by hook or by crook. Alas, she drew the short stick in the end, and from this, it’s clear that it’s Altar Leader Mo’s the one who killed Mo Qingqing!”

“Shut up!” Mo Cuicui cried out.

Chu Li shook his head and heaved a sigh before lowering his head to resume his dinner.

Sun Lihua joked, “Junior Brother Zhao, you’re pretty composed, huh? To think that you still have the mood to eat.”

Had she been on the receiving end of the curses, she would have been too angry to eat. Nevertheless, Junior Brother Zhao was totally unfazed, and he was still eating pretty happily. He was truly deserving of her awe!

Chu Li joked in return, “It’s not worth losing one’s appetite for two idiots.”

“You’re so open-minded, Junior Brother Zhao!” Song Donglin raised his thumb and with a smile on his lips, he continued, “Actually, you shouldn’t pay much attention to them. Their martial arts are average at best, and they were sent to toil at the spirit medicine patch on the lowest floor. I bet that they’re jealous of your current title.”

Chu Li nodded his head. “I’m just worried that I didn’t get my message across to them, and that they would return asking for more.”

“I doubt it. If they do return again, you just need to unleash everything you have at them.’ Song Donglin knitted his brows together as he responded.

Chu Li scoffed, “I’m just afraid that they’ll be obsessed with me. After all, they’re probably being promised plenty of benefits by a certain someone!”

He shot a glance at Mo Cuicui as he said so.

In a furious tone, Mo Cuicui said, “What’re you looking at me for!”

Chu Li shook his head, refusing to speak any further.

Song Donglin shot a glance at Mo Cuicui too, and just like Chu Li, he remained silent as he shook his head.

The position of an Altar Leader came with plenty of authority, and as such, all the leader needed was a single word to seal his fate. As such, Song Donglin dared not upset the leader, and would actively avoid getting onto their wrong side.

Sun Lihua whispered, “Junior Sister Mo, if it really is Altar Leader Mo’s who’s behind this, I hope that you can advise him out of it. After all, this is quite embarrassing.”

Mo Cuicui angrily scolded, “Senior Sister Sun, I can’t believe that you actually believe his lies!”

“Well, it is a peculiar situation after all,” Sun Lihua explained.

Mo Cuicui snorted, “My father would never resort to such underhanded means. Do you think that he would need to put in so much effort just to get rid of him?”

“That’s true…” Sun Lihua weakly nodded her head.

Mo Cuicui then said, “Zhang, you only have yourself to blame for inciting others. After all, you’re ranked number one.”

Chu Li responded with a smile.

After taking their dinner, the trio returned to the Sutra Library.

Their living quarters were unbelievably narrow rooms within the Sutra Library.

Despite that, Chu Li had slept soundly. The fragrance of the books, coupled with the exceptionally-serene environment and the fact that he was not practicing any martial arts had resulted in his sleeping soundly.

The second day had passed by rather normally as well, as Chu Li was able to do anything he wanted without any supervision.

As long as he cleaned up the library at night, Chu Li could read books and practice as many martial arts as he wanted during the day. Besides, he had also learned from Sun Lihua that there was a martial arts field for him to practice his martial arts.

That was not all he knew, however, as he was aware that disciples could both train by themselves or challenge against one another in the field.

As long as there was a senior present, disciples would be allowed to challenge each other, and it would not be considered as fighting with killing intent. However, as soon as they leave the field and cross fists again, it would be considered fighting with killing intent.

As such, the best way to settle grudges was by challenging each other in the martial arts field.

In the evening, Chu Li was once again having dinner with Sun Lihua and Mo Cuicui. However, the moment they chose their dishes and sat at a table, Cui Da and Cui Er came lumbering over again, and they had a belittling smile on their faces.

Chu Li spared a glance at the two before spitting out, “Scram!”

Cui Da sneered, “We’re not gonna budge! Zhao Dahe, you really are thick-skinned! To think that you dare approach Senior Sister Sun and Junior Sister Mo with those ugly looks of yours!”

Chu Li picked up his chopsticks and nonchalantly picked up an unknown vegetable. He then slowly chewed on it, and he noticed that his mouth was filled with a refreshingly sweet taste. This was truly the first time he had encountered such a vegetable.

The Flavorful Tower was true to its name. It had a wide selection of meals, and most of them were totally new dishes to Chu Li. The dishes might have been a special production of the Li Dynasty, or they might even be special production of the Great Light Peak. Whatever the case may be, they tasted amazing.

Cui Da added, “Were I in your shoes, I would be feeling so inferior that I would be a loner, and abstain myself from bothering Senior Sister Sun and Junior Sister Mo.”

“Senior Brother Cui Da, Junior Brother Zhao here isn’t bothering me.” With a frown on her face, Sun Lihua continued, “Also, what are you guys trying to pull here? You’re all brothers from the same sect, so why’s there the need for all this ruckus?”

“We’re just advising him to be more conscious of himself.” Cui Da waved his hand and added, “Senior Sister Sun, you’re a kind and innocent girl, so you aren’t aware of how malicious one can be. He’s a disciple from the outer mountains, so, who’s to say that he doesn’t have any underhanded plots up his sleeves? He might be an unscrupulous person for all we know, so we should be defensive. After all, no one is as innocent as those of us from the inner peaks.”

Chu Li interjected, “You consider yourselves innocent?”

Chu Li shook his head before continuing, “You know what you guys are? You’re idiots! You’re idiots who’re only good at embarrassing themselves! You’re so good at embarrassing yourselves that even I’m feeling embarrassed for you guys!”

“Zhao, who are you calling an embarrassment?” Cui Er snorted, “Even if we’re an embarrassment, it’s better than being ugly!”

Chu Li retorted, “You guys are apples that look good externally, but are rotten internally. Why don’t you guys spend your time cultivating instead? It’s no wonder you’re that weak. After all, your thoughts are constantly filled with nonsense. Here’s a word of advice, you should pack up and leave the peaks as soon as possible because you’re throwing your parent’s dignity away! I seriously don’t know how your parents educated you!”

“Zhao, how dare you speak ill of our parents?” Cui Da exploded in anger.

Chu Li sneered, “So what? Are your parents such important figures that I’m not allowed to make fun of them?”

“Fine, if that’s how you want to play, I don’t blame you for being ugly. After all, it’s your parents’ fault. They must be some kind of freakshow to produce something as ugly as you!” Cui Da looked disdainfully at Chu Li and stated, “Man I really don’t understand what’s going through their minds. They were so ugly, but they still chose to give birth to a child. Aren’t they just making your life hard by doing so?”

Chu Li calmly, and apathetically stated, “Well, your words have a ring of truth to them. After all, they really did screw my life up! They’ve abandoned me since birth, so I’ve never ever met them before!”

The two were stunned speechless.

Chu Li then delightedly stated, “If you don’t want to be cursed, then leave! The further, the better! Otherwise, I have even more toxic words to say about you guys. This time, I won’t just curse your parents, but your ancestors as well!”

“Don’t you dare!” Cui Da howled.

Chu Li retorted, “If you guys can do it, then why not me? Or do you guys want to hit me as well? Even if you do, why should I be afraid of you guys? I’ve already told you guys how stupid you are, but you don’t believe me. Now, you’re challenging me, despite how powerless you are!”

“Zhao, we shall meet at the martial arts field!” Cui Da thundered.

Chu Li replied, “Huh, do you think scum like you two are allowed to cross fists with me?”

“We’ll be challenging you on Palm Techniques!” Cui Da scolded.

Chu Li raised his brows, “No. If we’re going to face each other, we’ll be challenging each other on the Light Blade!”

“Only those who issue the challenge are allowed to decide on the technique!” Cui Er sneered, “If you’re brave enough to accept the challenge, then you must use Palm Techniques. Otherwise, just forget about it!”

Chu Li slowly replied, “Fine, I’ll take you guys on.”

“Don’t you even think of using Light Blades, we’ll not entertain you otherwise.” Cui Da then added, “You’re ranked at the top, so you must accept the challenge. Us, on the other hand, we won’t lose face even if we don’t accept challenges, hehe!”

He was growing even more delighted by the minute.

Chu Li shook his head. “Man, no amount of medicine can cure your idiocy!”
