Finally, 5 earthworms swallowed that 5 insects, leaving nothing for remaining 7 earthworms.
Earthworms who didn't get anything wanted to attack the one who ate. But the adult earthworm hissed at them. Even though it was an earthworm, it could hiss.
Adult earthworm then said something, to the one who didn't get food.
"Ssss sssss ssssss"
Then the 7 young earthworms lowered their head and nodded.
Zynx couldn't understand, what were they talking about.
He then saw 7 young earthworms, slithering outward. From looking at this, he could conclude what they talked about.
The Monster Kingdom is survival of the fittest. Only strong can live, while weak will be swallowed by strong.
7 of them could not obtain prey, by fighting with their brother. Now, they had to hunt themselves to fill their stomach.
Zynx became overjoyed seeing this, he wanted to separate and killed them after adult earthworm left them, but now there was no need for waiting.
He saw earthworms moving toward a different direction, 3 moved in a pair while 1 was single.
Zynx decided to follow single earthworm. He wanted to understand the fighting style and strength of earthworm, before battling with the group.
He followed single earthworm, while still in camouflage.
This earthworm was larger and look powerful than the other, that was why nobody wanted to pair with it.
They must have thought, after obtaining prey, they had to fight with each other. If their hunting partner was powerful than them, then they would not get anything.
Zynx follow this earthworm for more than 10 min, they were far away from the swamp, but they still could not find anything. There was an only dead tree, black rock and not any living creature.
That earthworm was running out of patience and so was Zynx.
Zynx then estimated the route earthworm going to take and bypassed it, as his agility point was higher than him after level up.
After traveling distance of 2 min, he stopped beside the big black rock.
Zynx then used his active skill poison ward for the first time, behind the rock, hiding it, so that person in front of rock could not see it.
He then saw a white snake which had the same look, like him, the only difference was, it was 5 times larger than him. Its fang was larger than his, but its body was crystal clear. If you focused, then you could see the view, behind it.
Zynx didn't know the strength of this poison ward, but its look was more handsome than him.
Now, all he needed to do, was wait for the earthworm, to reach here.
Zynx could hear the movement of earthworm, through his passive skill 'aural sense'.
He looked at the direction of earthworm and found earthworm was slithering towards him.
When it was 10 m away, it suddenly changed direction because it could feel something bad would happen, if it walked on this path.
Zynx became shocked, at the perceptiveness of this earthworm. He could not move his poison ward, and time taken for summoning poison ward again, was lengthy, so he could not change the direction of ambush.
So, Zynx decided to bait earthworm towards poison ward.
He jumped from the black rock, where he was hiding, and took out the remaining head of a bloody eagle in front of him and started to circle around it.
When earthworm saw meat from variation monster and little snake, in its field of vision, it became excited and moved toward Zynx.
It didn't think this little snake could harm him, so it slithered toward Zynx, without thinking.
Zynx continues circling around the head of a bloody eagle, unaware of the danger, he would face.
When earthworm found that, Zynx had not realized its presence, It felt proud.
He was observing the movement of earthworm from his aural sense. Earthworm was at the distance of 5 m from the poison ward, but poison ward didn't attack it.
Zynx became confused, this was the first time, he was using poison ward, so he didn't know the range of poison ward.
He could finish earthworm if he was to use poison shot and bite, but he wanted to have knowledge about this skill, so he had to wait.
Zynx was 0.5 m away from poison ward, so he decided to attack earthworm if poison ward didn't attack earthworm at the range of 2 m.
When earthworm was 3 m away from poison ward, it finally attacked.
