The driver saw everything and all he could do was sigh. Their Miss was stubborn and it wasn't like they didn't know why she was being like this, there wasn't much they could do about it. This problem wasn't something they could completely solve, they can only leave it to the one person of her heart to lead them and pave the way for them to help her. Meanwhile, all they can do is encourage that person. The carriage driver parked the carriage where they are usually kept and let the other servants take care of the rest. He then proceeded to stride towards the Manager's Office.

...

After another day of resting, most likely more for the hangovers procured at the Welcome Banquet rather than the long distance of travel, the Goodwill Tournament between Xi Qi and Jing Qie officially began. Like the last round of the Election Tournament, it was more of a show than anything. All of the contestants on one side would fight all of the contestants on the other side. The number places originally didn't mean anything, but people like to place deeper meanings on numbers and other things. So, eventually, the lower one was on the number list, the less important or weaker that person was perceived to be, though that notion was never made official, the higher ups followed that notion also.

The participants from Jing Qie gathered at the central platform before the official start of the competition and chatted a little among themselves while they waited for the contestants of Xi Qi to wake up and be led there. Junzhu Wen Ya was talking to some of the noble ladies she was familiar that were standing off the stage, while Rong Jian whispered to Shen Tianyu. The Crown Prince and Luo Yenmu, on the other hand, were talking to some other sons of nobility. Some of the people thought it was odd that the Junzhu wasn't trying to find trouble with the demoted Miss Shen, but they came to the conclusion it would make the kingdom lose face if one of their Junzhu was fighting with another contestant on the roster, and a non-noble at that, in front of another kingdom that was their war enemy not too long ago. In the face of their own country's reputation, not even the reckless Junzhu would endanger their reputation. However, only three people knew what was really going on, but none of them were willing to tell others about it.

The participants of Xi Qi arrived at a time that was not too late yet not too early, right in time for the Opening Ceremony, sauntering in and chatting merrily. This carefree attitude that seemingly didn't put Jing Qie into their eyes annoyed some of the people standing below the platform but Luo Yenmu and the Crown Prince appeased them so they didn't immediately rise in a riot.

The contestants form Jing Qie lined up on the left of the stage, according to their numbers, while the newly arrived Xi Qi participants lined up on the right. the kingdom of Jing Qie's own Minister of Ceremonies, stepped onto the platform. He cleared his throat and began a speech about peace between the two countries and so on that neither Shen Tianyu nor Rong Jian paid attention to. The two looked around and concluded that no one listened to the speech either. The audience was more excited to watch the fights, no matter who wins, though they wished their own country would win. The contestants were eager to either fight or hurry and go home, more than two of the total participants seem to fall into the latter category, judging by the yawning boy in Xi Qi's lineup. The boy had spiky hair that partly seemed like bed hair and he wore a finely made light blue robe with silver patterns, perhaps representative of his family. Though he had on a tired and lazy appearance, there was alertness deep in his eyes.

The Minister of Ceremonies finally finished his speech and had everyone led to the makeshift stage where the first round of the Election Tournament took place. The people that weren't participants complained about having to move but the actual contestants didn't utter a single complaint, displaying an unnecessary dignity and grace.

'Why did they have to suppress their complaints on this? It's not false that it's a pain to gather here only to listen to some boring speech then moving elsewhere to fight. Honestly, I want to complain but I don't want to stand out too much so I won't say anything. I don't want the others on my ass about it either.' Shen Tianyu silently commented to herself as they leapt through the air, Rong Jian beside her.

"Wifey, if you feel tired or that it's a bother, I can always carry you." Rong Jian offered as he looked at her frowning expression.

"No need, we shouldn't be closer than necessary in public, especially since it's a competition with such a big importance placed on it. We don't want to seem disrespectful." She rejected. They didn't say anything more as they traveled the rest of the way. At the stadium, the setup was the same as last time. The Emperor, Jing Lan, and the Empress was sitting at the front most seats, behind them were officials seated in order of ranks before the wealthy families unaffiliated with politics, such as merchants, and finally came the commoners and peasants. However, there as a slight difference this time as, next to the Empror and Empress of Jing Qie, sat another male and female pair, their chairs just as decorative with a gaggle of servants behind them, holding fans, just like the Jing Qie Imperial couple. At a glance, Shen Tianyu surmised they were the Emperor and Empress of Xi Qi, the other country participating in this tournament.

'They most likely came here covertly and only appeared now for their own safety. Well, it is their promising youths visiting to participate so they don't have a home ground advantage. In addition, if anything happened to their young talents, they were probably worried no one would give them justice, hence they decided to just come here by themselves to reassure them?' Shen Tianyu guessed right off the bat. The contestants from Xi Qi looked at the other couple in astonishment, as if they didn't know they would come and hurriedly rushed over to kneel in front of them.

"May the Emperor live millions and millions on millions of years! May the Empress live thousands and thousands on thousands of years!" They shouted in unison as they kowtowed. The Emperor of Xi Qi only gave an amused laugh before he told them to quickly stand up. The Empress hid a smile behind her sleeve before she tried to help them up with her own hands but was refused politely, the youths saying they are not worthy of such an honor. She sat back down with a helpless look on her face and a smile tugging at her mouth.
