Shen Tianyu didn't train like these sheltered children of big families so naturally her capabilities were different. She didn't cultivate to show off or for glory, she cultivated it as a path, her own path. Her endurance, at the least, was higher than these children who, at most, went to hunt at some banquet once a year.

Ke Qingyan was already getting tired, his fingers were probably already strained. He knew he could use his other hand but he couldn't afford to stop. Amid the flurry of blades and shrapnel flying, he thought he saw his opponent smirk.

This was what Shen Tianyu had been aiming for. Even though he had two hands, they were tied. His hand playing the guqin was tired but he couldn't switch it or else, he would definitely loose. 'But even so...' Shen Tianyu thought to herself as she reached for the whip hanging a her hip. She sped up and ran into one of Ke Qingyan's blind spots and immediately drew her whip and swung it at him, not sparing a single moment, the whip not even touching the stage. Ke Qingyan needed time to adjust and she had taken advantage of that moment. She had run around in his domain for so long just to find his blind spots and take advantage of them, in addition to tiring him out more and making his concentration even more unstable, of course. The whip landed on Ke Qingyan's forearm that had been holding the guqin. The strike was beyond stinging and completely unexpected to him. His arm jerked and the guqin fell.

Bang!

The base of the guqin hit the stone stage, making a banging noise that sounded all too loud in the silent stadium. Ke Qingyan stood there, staring at his hands in shock and disbelief. Shen Tianyu quietly walked to him, her whip already back on her hip in it's coil. She bent down to pick up his fallen guqin, brushing it off gently and examining it, checking the base, to make sure it wasn't damaged then held it in front of him with both her hands with a smile on her face. Seeing his weapon thrust in front of him, he looked up from his hands at her.

"It's a beautiful and elegant guqin despite being made for practicality purposes. you should take care of it. A weapon is not merely an object but also your companion." That was how weapon spirits were born, being cared for by their Master. Ke Qingyan gingerly received the guqin again, still somewhat in a daze. Seeing him take it, she turned to the referee standing below the stage and frowned. "What are you people doing? You're always frozen stiff like a statue whenever a battle ends. Isn't it your job to announce the results?"

The Master of Ceremonies cleared his throat and stuttered a bit before he could make out a full sentence. "This round goes to Jing Qie's Shen Tian!" A deafening roar from the stands followed.

Shen Tianyu smiled in satisfaction before she turned to the still stunned Ke Qingyan again. She walked closer and told him in a voice that only they could hear within the deafening roars of the stadium. "If you aren't sure where you wish to go with this path of yours, how about joining our sect? Come to Lavender Palace during your stay here once you've made your decision. I'm hoping for a positive response." At the end, she winked and put a finger to her lips, telling him to keep it a secret. He stared at her, his shock and disbelief directed at her now. She just threw her head back and laughed at the sky as she walked off the stage, towards her spot among the Jing Qie Kingdom's contestants. When she stepped off the stage, he seemed to have regained his senses, his features schooling into his usual indifferent look before he also walked off the stage, his guqin held in his hands.

The next round was Luo Yenmu against Xi Qi's fourth, the same set up as yesterday. Though, the talent show portion would have more matches. It was a show off tournament after all, they couldn't let it end too soon. In this portion, everyone would truly fight against everyone else on the opposing side.

Luo Yenmu brought out a rapier, while his opponent brought a halberd. 'Hm. The difference in distance of coverage is large, Luo Yenmu is at a disadvantage. He'll probably lose.' Shen Tianyu concluded immediately. The fourth place in Xi Qi's lineup was a young man called Ling Lei. He wasn't particularly ripped but he was fit enough to be mistaken as someone from the military and his stern face only made it more likely.

The signal started and Luo Yenmu charged in first. And just like his namesake, the halberd fell and made a loud boom, stopping the Minister of Personnel's son in his tracks, having to shield himself from the after math of debris and smoke. When the smoke cleared, there was a gash in the ground, the size of a halberd's blade, with the surrounding pavement also cracked from the shock.

Shen Tianyu widened her eyes, though her cheeks were still in her hand. 'This Ling Lei, he didn't stand out much during the sword competition and even lost, but now that's he's holding a halberd, it's almost like he's a different person.'

"Surrender." Ling Lei spoke this one word, in a tone unlike requesting something of someone.

'So that had been a warning strike?' Shen Tianyu thought.

Luo Yenmu was staring at the deep gash, stunned, but he jerked his head when he heard his opponent speak. Shen Tianyu could hear him audibly gulp.

'That one doesn't seem to like using words and this one is probably questioning what he should do. He had won against him once after all, surrendering like this wouldn't look good.' Shen Tianyu mused.

And just like Shen Tianyu had guessed, Luo Yenmu shook his head but displayed a thankful smile before his serious face resurfaced. He got into a fighting stance, and seeing that he wasn't going to back off even after the warning strike, Ling Lei also had no choice but get into a fighting stance also.
