Rong Jian started to regret asking that question. He didn't like that his beloved was talking about and complimenting other people, but Shen Tianyu didn't seem to notice the frown in his brows. "If he doesn't have anywhere to go, I want to invite him to our sect too! And that Ling Lei has some monstrous strength! His heart is kind so he probably won't be able to take doing the more brutal jobs but it'd be nice to have a connection with him, I'm sure he'll be famous in the future, as a cultivator or military man. I don't think I can entice him, though, he has his fiance or whatever after all."

Rong Jian leaned forward as she ended her little tirade. "Then what about me? What does wifey think about my performance so far?"

"Hm? shen Tianyu looked at him and answered. "Well... you're doing fine?"

Rong Jian wrinkled his nose. "What does that mean?" He asked with dissatisfaction.

"Well, I mean, there's really not much to say. You've been doing good and holding on to first place, but that's to be expected right? You're not actually Foundation Establishment level so wouldn't it be a disgrace to not do well?" She questioned back, shoving some food into her mouth with her chopsticks.

Rong Jian went back to eating with a pout on his face but Shen Tianyu didn't know what she was supposed to say so she kept quiet. In the end, they finished their lunch in silence.

While they were eating, people in the capital were talking about two streaks of color that sped through the capital earlier today. No one was able to follow them with their eyes so no on knew where they went or ended up. some were speculating a possible attack some were calling it a supernatural omen and other things. The officials in the Imperial Palace were already having a headache because of what happened earlier at the stadium so they just half-heartedly called it a visit from some renowned cultivator. Then people started speculating again, making more theories about why cultivators would do such a thing and that they didn't seem that old so could they be children of said cultivators?

Shen Tianyu and Rong Jian the source of this migraine for the court officials spent their two unexpected days off relaxing as always. Though Rong Jian had been pouting after that time, he himself came up to Shen Tianyu and started to strike up another conversation with her. Their relationship was restored to usual before dinner time. Shen Tianyu, though she was the superior, let Luo Shue do whatever she wanted. So she actually was not aware of the other's whereabouts the past few days, though she assumed the doctor was refining pills and, therefore, didn't want to bother her. She was waiting for the responses of both Wen Ya and Ke Qingyan but wasn't in a rush, they still had a few days on top of the unexpected two day break.

"I say, I didn't think the Crown Prince was someone that held friends so dear to his heart." Shen Tianyu said as she sat with Rong Jian, yet again, across from her, enjoying some tea.

"Ah. You mean when he followed the Luo boy as he was carried away? Don't you think it's just because the boy's father was his biggest benefactor?" Rong Jian held a cookie in his hand as he examined it. It was a chocolate chip cookie, which shouldn't exist in the world considering the time line.

Caocao, the origin of chocolate, was originally bitter and not many people would like it. Not to mention, it grew in a very limited region that was not part of the east in her world. However, in this world, there was a place that had caocao plants and the locals used it as paste when they were hungry or as a stimulant when they needed more energy to work, though the plant provided caffeine, not adrenaline. The discovery of it was actually a short yet interesting story. Shen Tianyu had a craving for chocolate one day and asked around about the plant because she knew chocolate itself did not exist. She actually didn't expect to find the caocao plant itself but was thinking of making a substitute form some other materials and plants. Since she didn't need to use substitute materials, it made it easier on her. She then ground up some caocao beans that were brought to her and added a lot of sugar, since chocolate was supposed to be sweet, and made a prototype chocolate. The others found it delicious and new, which then encouraged her to propose to it as a commodity for them to sell. The rest of the work, including further development and paperwork, were, of course, pushed onto the chefs and managers of Lavender Palace. Lotus Pavilion was in charge of advertisement of the product. Of course, the method of how to make it was strictly confidential and only a few chefs knew how to make it, most of them being on the original development team.

"There's that too but he was genuinely concerned for the boy. I always thought he treated the other as a lackey of some sort, didn't think they were that close." Shen Tianyu sipped her green tea. The tea itself was too bitter for her taste but that was what the cookies were for. Also, since she'd been in a fiery atmosphere for so long, she needed to cool down. And green tea was known for it's property to quell inner fire, which sometimes caused physical problems such as toothache or headaches.

"Really? I didn't pay attention." Rong Jian said, tentatively biting into the cookie.

"Then what were you paying attention to?" Shen Tianyu picked up a cookie and bit off half.

"The royalties." Rong Jian answered curtly as he uttered a satisfied sound, shoving the rest of the cookie into his mouth. Shen Tianyu quietly ate her cookie, waiting for him to further elaborate. He swallowed and sipped a mouthful of tea before he continued. "The two couples seem to know each other, yet their relationship is so different. The Empress of Jing Qie didn't even bother to comfort her husband and vice versa, while the pair from Xi Qi were so concerned for each other. It's almost laughable."

"Well, the Emperor only has himself to blame. Who told him to abandon the Empress for a Noble Consort? Donn't people say not to be too absorbed for a mistress and neglect the main wife? Though I'm sure no one actually follows that line of reasoning. But for things to get to the point of being so obvious, there's probably no way to repair their relationship."
