Rong Jian walked over to Shen Tianyu as everyone was leaving and bent down to the still sitting girl. "Tian'er~Did I do good?" He asked with an excited smile.

Shen Tianyu smiled back as she checked around her seat to make sure she had all her things and answered. "Yes you did."

"Then, my reward..." he trailed off in reminder.

"I said when we get back to the house didn't I?" She got up, her smile still on her face.

Rong Jian straightened as his mouth formed a pout. He was hoping she'd forget that part. Then again, it wasn't even an incense stick of time, how could she forget it so fast? If she had the memory span of a goldfish, she wouldn't be able to achieve what she had now so fast. Nevertheless, he still followed behind her as they walked out through the contestants-only side exit.

It was already evening by the time they made it back, most of the day's time being taken by Wen Ya's match, followed by Shen Tianyu's. One was intentionally long while the other was just for fun. Rong Jian's match actually lasted less than half an incense stick.

When the couple arrived at Lavender Palace, Shen Tianyu ignored Rong Jian's puppy eyes as she walked to her room and put her weapon away, closing the door in the other's face. She opened it again after putting her weapon away and he was still standing there with a kicked puppy look. "What are you still holding your weapon for? You want to assassinate me?" She asked as she leaned lightly on the doors with her arms crossed.

"How could Wifey think that? I'm just eagerly awaiting my reward yet..." Rong Jian looked on the verge of tears.

"Hurry and put it away, what if it falls when you're surprised? It's not trouble if it falls on the floor but what if someone gets injured?" Only after some more convincing did Rong Jian reluctantly go to put back his weapon, running back like he was thieved.

"What are you running so fast for? I'm not going anywhere." Shen Tianyu sighed as she unfolded her arms and walked forward.

Rong Jian tensed in nervousness but didn't move. Shen Tianyu stopped right in front of him and rose onto her tiptoes. Anticipating a kiss, Rong Jian closed his eyes, holding his hands close to his chest. Shen Tianyu smirked but didn't stop her leaning. Rong Jian felt something soft touch his cheek before quickly disappearing. He opened his eyes and saw his partner, feet on the wooden floor again, smiling up at him. "Done." she said to him before turning around.

Dazed, Rong Jian reached a hand up to lightly touch his kissed cheek. 'I won't be washing this part of my face for a long time...' he lamented as a foolish smile overcame him and he began giggling to himself. Despite appearances, he was still a young boy that has never tasted love. The servants that heard his lone giggling just acted as if they didn't hear anything.

Shen Tianyu returned to her room and laughed, thinking back to the other's foolish expression. Her original world was less conservative than this one so she had dated people of the other gender before she had died, despite her relatively young age of death. She had more experience in that department than most here so a kiss on the cheek wasn't much to her. Unbeknownst to her though, her cheeks had a red tint to them. This was because, for her too, this was the first taste of real love. Before, all the men she had dated were merely out of curiosity or interest on her part, later it was a matter of mutual interest in addition to being able to hold conversations with each other. In short, she had also never fallen in love, especially when witnessing the bad love choices of those around her. Now, things were different. She was a different person with a different fate. Perhaps... she could allow herself to love if it was now...

The Tournament continued but nothing major happened again. The other contestants got injured but nothing was as serious as before as if everyone had come to a mutual understanding to dish out the least amount of injuries as possible. Without any further incidents, the Goodwill Tournament of the two countries ended. The Empress of Jing Qie didn't attend the rest of the matches and the Empress of Xi Qi kept subtly stabbing the Emperor with her words and straight ahead stares. The Emperor of Xi Qi tried to mediate to no affect. At one point, it seemed the couple had a fight and didn't even talk to each other. Naturally, Jing Qie won the Tournament, with Rong Jian and Shen Tianyu standing out the most.

"Say, when are we getting our prizes?" Shen Tianyu complained as she leaned on a chaise in the lounge.

"They should be distributing it soon." Rong Jian replied from another couch as he shoved chocolate in his mouth.

"Why isn't ours here yet? I want to hurry up and leave already... ah but..." She thought about the two people she had invited previously and sighed some more, she was still waiting for their responses.

"Is it so unpleasant here?"

"Well... if I said 'no' it'd be a lie but it's not to the point that it's unbearable. The air is just kind of tense, I want to leave before anything big happens. I like watching drama but I don't like being a part of it."

"Isn't it because of the tension between the royal couple?"

"Mhm. If the couple leading the nation is at odds with each other, it'd set a bad example for everyone else. They'd be afraid of when they fought." Shen Tianyu let out another sigh. "The Crown Prince is quite pitiful, being caught in between the two like this."

"Tian'er wants to help the Crown Prince Jing?"

"Absolutely not." She immediately refuted. "Do you know how much trouble that would be? You can't just leave the country hanging without a leader but if you don't find a suitable leader, the Crown Prince won't leave easy. If the candidate is too ambitious, once the Crown Prince returns to take up his position, if ever, there'd be another rebellion. The more reasonable ones would brush it off but the more emotionally driven ones would blame us for taking them away and weakening their support base."
