"Ugh, this is why I hate coming here." Rong Jian complained as he rubbed his shoulders.

Shen Tianyu giggled into her sleeves. "Maybe that's just the Senior's way of showing love?"

He snorted at her comment. "No way. He's always called me a brat and chased after me with his tools. How is that love?"

She just returned a smile without answering. "So? What's next?"

"We're near the sea so there's a lot of things relating to boats and seafood, but the best of both are found near the water and the capital is in the middle of the kingdom. I think it's better to take it easy for today." He responded as his hand glided past her's, a feather-light touch that she felt.

"Okay then, let's walk along the streets. I'm sure there will be many local specialties." She said without moving their eyes from the front, her hand grabbing his. He looked at her in slight surprise before a beaming smile surfaced on his face.

As they walked back to the inside of the capital city and toured the streets, they also chatted. Some of it was just useless small talk, some were talks about the city's nobility.

"Speaking of, when do you guys plan to hold the wedding?" Shen Tianyu asked, a tanghulu(1) in one hand and a red bean bun in another.

"When they select an auspicious day. Though from what I remember, the next auspicious day should be soon, maybe the end of this month or the next." The young Qinwang replied, his empty hands behind his back.

"Oh so soon." She exclaimed. "There's some important people I want to invite to the wedding, and the engagement party too if they can make it."

"Of course, but out of curiosity, who do you want to invite?"

"People important to me. The ones who helped me when I had nowhere to go. I'll probably never be able to repay them my whole life and I know they don't want to spend my life doing so, but I at least want them there during such a big occasion in my life. And of course, my father." She said the last sentence as she bit into her red bean bun.

"Your father? But isn't he..." Rong Jian trailed off, not sure how to put it.

"Oh not that one. I'll never recognize that thing as my father. I meant my adoptive father, the one who took me in when that dick brain kicked me out." She responded without any change in tone.

"Oh, alright... Then I'll send an invite to them."

"No need, just send it to Lavender Palace, let me write who they are supposed to be given to on the envelope though."

"Alright."

"Speaking of which, I'm surprised there hasn't been a big scene yet."

"Why do you say that?"

"Your mask is your trademark isn't it? I'm surprised the people don't recognize it. Or maybe you just stay cooped up in your estate so long that the citizens have forgotten your existence?"

"Well, I guess they're too confused to act because I'm usually not with a girl. I'm never with a girl."

"How come?" She asked as she continued eating the street foods in her hand and looking at all the stalls selling trinkets. They were pretty but didn't captivate her enough for her to spend money on them. A smart businesswoman must know how to efficiently use money. Showing off and buying useless things is not an efficient way to spend your income.

"Those shallow women are not fit for me. Only Tian'er is fit for me."

"What if you hadn't met me, would you just be single all your life?"

"Most likely."

"No wonder first and third brother-in-law were worrying about your little Rong Jian." She said without any change in expression. Not even a smattering of red on her cheeks.

"Not this again! And how can you talk about these things out n the open like that?!"

"What? Why can't I? I'm the Zhu Qinwangfei." She proudly stuck her arms at her hips, holding her tanghulu in one hand. She had finished the red bean bun by now. "Besides, sexual education is necessary so you don't catch some weird illnesses. And it'll also help you so you know what to do your first time, you don't want to embarrass yourself or accidentally injure your partner right?"

Rong Jian held his red face in his hands and groaned. "Why are you like this..."

"I worked at a brothel, what do you expect?" She returned to browsing the nearby stalls. The main street was really packed with them. Good thing the road has enough space for the stalls and horse carriages to pass through.

"Not really, though, right? I bet you were just doing it for fun." He followed as he peeked at her through his fingers.

"Yup." She readily admitted. "And it was funny to see those creature's faces when they realized a simple courtesan had the power to control Lavender Palace's guards."

"You keep calling them 'thing' and 'creatures', huh."

"Those things are worse than humans, it would be an insult to all living things if I called them anything but that. After all, even no animal would try to kill their own young, and humans always pride themselves to be more civilized than beasts, no? So they should be worse than animals."

"Alright, alright. Wifey is definitely correct in this regard. I'm not trying to argue with that. But a 'creature' hints at a living being no? Albeit not animals."

"Ah, you're right. It would be an insult to unidentified creatures. I'll just call them 'shit' and 'thing' then."

"Anyways, back to the topic at hand, can you not talk about these vulgar things in public?"

Shen Tianyu turned around and placed her free hand on his shoulder and looked at him in the eye. "Brother, it's only vulgar if you think it is(2)."

Rong Jian was stunned for a moment before he came back to himself and flung her hand away. "No it's not! The vulgarity of it is not up for discussion!" He managed to hold himself back from yelling out loud but still whispered loudly with a crimson face.
