They didn't necessarily do these things because they had to, but rather because they could. That's why people named them Soul-Snatching Hares, not only did they steal your heart with their cuteness, they also literally stole your soul. However, these demonic beasts lived in woodlands and therefore would not be able to survive in a harsh place like a desert.

'So why was one here? And jumping alongside the other demonic beasts so energetically?' Shen Tianyu narrowed her eyes in suspicion. 'Is it the key to leaving this place? If so... then this wasn't the desert but a pocket dimension created by the Array.'

She scanned the army of demonic beasts again but didn't see any other demonic beast out of place. However that Soul-Snatching Hare was in the middle of the pack, protected by many of the demonic beasts surrounding it. And it didn't seem like it would get trampled on either, as it both kept up with the other demonic beasts and the ones around it were wary enough of it to not try to step on it.

"Guess, I don't have a choice... I'll just have to charge right to it then... Capturing it probably won't do anything and Soul-Snatching Hares don't have the ability of human speech so it's not like they could point me to a key or something. Killing it would be easier." She sighed and put her hand on the handle of her whip that was still with her. As she stood up straighter she also noticed that there was no sand on her, not on her clothes or in her shoes. 'Tch. I should have realized when I didn't feel prickling sand in my shoes. It looks like my pain receptors are too dulled,' she thought to herself as she unfurled her whip from her waist and drew her sword with her other hand. With a dark red whip in her right hand and a sword in her left, she charged from the oasis straight into the oncoming army of demonic beasts.

She first attacked a Poison Dragon Rattlesnake that was near the front by wrapping her whip around it's upper section and pulling it forward to stab through it's head with her sword as she jumped up and forward using the force of the pull. The Poison Dragon Rattlesnakes were big in size and fast in addition to spitting acid that could melt a person to their bones in only a few breaths. However, other than those features, it was just like any other animal. As long as you weren't standing in the range of it's poison or tail, you were fine. Since Shen Tianyu stabbed it when she was airborne, the poison didn't reach her even as the force of the squeezing of it's poison gland made it shoot poison into the middle of the oasis as it was dying. Using the Poison Dragon Rattlesnake's body as a solid foothold, she leapt right into the middle of the hoard of demonic beasts, swinging her whip to knock away those that were trying to reach for her from the ground and the air and using her sword to take down those that managed to get too close.

By the time she landed, just a few heartbeats' time, she had felled at least a handful of each airborne type demonic beasts like the Bone Eagles, Hell Crows, Crushing Claw Vultures, Savage Crows, and Ghost Moths. The pile of dead falling birds, the smallest of which was the size of an adult human, also managed to knock out or injure a few of the demonic beasts on the ground.

Bone Eagles were originally eagles that died with some remaining resentment strong enough to move their corpses. Those corpses would rot and what was left would be the skeleton of the eagle which tried to keep to it's previous diet but due to the nonexistence of it's organs, couldn't contain their prey which results in them roaming around and trying to attack every big moving thing it senses to eat them. Hell Crows were just odlly colored crows that could spit scathing fires that were as hot as the desert sun. Crushing Claw Vultures were the natural enemies of the Bone Eagles as they always tried to eat them when they encountered one. Their name came from their unnatural claws which could extend and retract in addition to their immense strength that rivaled a Merdiains Level cultivator. Savage Crows were about the size of a house with the same weight yet still capable of flight. Their feathers looked soft but were in fact as hard as any armor a normal person could make and their beaks were not only sharp but also powerful. They had the ability to use their feathers as ranged attack weapons with their primary weakness being the back of their neck since they don't usually need to fortify that spot. Ghost Moths looked almost transparent due to their special components and can create asbestos fibers from their wings. Though if there was an appropriate angle or if one had keen eyes, they;d still be able to make them ouyt. Being nearly invisible, they would fly around their prey until the prey died from bleeding lungs due to unknowingly inhaling all the asbestos fibers that they generated. Needless to say, their diet was mostly living things with humans being their favorite.

She thought she had given enough strength to leap right in front of the Soul-Snatching Hare but there was a wall of demonic beasts in between her and it, as if they were protecting the out-of-place demonic beast.

"Ho? Are you controlling these things?" She asked the Hare throught he protective wall with a sneer, not expecting an answer.

Her whip flew out like it had a mind of it's own and snapped the necks of several demonic beasts that were standing close to her in the blink of an eye. She then pulled it back with her eyes still looking in front of her, causing it to curve and behead the demonic beasts that had turned back to her and were about to attack. She then left her right hand and her whip to defend her from the back and the air as she thrust forward with her sword. Immediately meeting an Evil Heavenly Python, she stabbed straight through it and jumped up, cutting it in half and being airborne again. Using her whip to attack the surrounding bird-type demonic beasts, she took a quick look at her surroundings. The Soul-Snatching Hare was waiting patiently behind it's protective wall as it watched her attentively. She tilted her body forward to try to land in front of it again but this time, she saw it open it's mouth. She didn't hear any sound but the demonic beasts around it reacted and closed an even tighter circle around it.

'I didn't hear anything, is it a some kind of ultrasonic technique? I've never heard of Soul-Snatching Hares having this kind of ability!' She landed on top of a Python Rhinoceros that had been on the outskirts of her attack range before and immediately stabbed it through the eye and reaching what she surmised was it's brain, not giving it the chance to attack with it's head and then pulling out her sword to sever the tail that was coming at her. Python Rhinoceroses were chimeras that had a python for a tail, with all it's functions intact. They had a mind of their own and could produce their own poison separate of the main body, the only thing being that they were permanently attached to the main body. The main body, the rhinoceros itself, was immune to moist poisons and had a tough skin. Python Rhinoceroses usually charged at predators or prey to injure them with their sharp horns and have the tails follow up. Trying to stab through the thick and tough skin would take an unncessary amount of time that she didn't have when surrounded by an army of demonic beasts.

As the beast fell, she again swung her whip to decapitate a few more of the demonic beasts with a straight face. Her now bloody sword flew forward with her person behind it as it engaged in ground combat with the wall of protective demonic beasts. A Raging Fire Horse tried to trample her underfoot but she ran through it's legs and cut open it's stomach from the bottom, scorching her clothes in the process. The Raging Fire Horse let out a loud cry as it folded it's legs and fell down in agony. It was soon trampled dead by the other demonic beasts rushing to attack Shen Tianyu. Raging Fire Horses, though rare to see in a desert, wasn't uncommon. They were horses that were eternally producing manes of flame from their body that covered it like a protective armor. The heat was nothing special to a cultivator but they were sometimes beaten out of their original place of residence, either by human cultivators or other demonic beasts, because they set everything on fire. The desert, being a place that didn't have anything easily flammable, were the best places for them to settle. The thing that made them slightly dangerous was that they would charge madly at any moving object they saw, and with their height of a two-story building and solid hooves, they could seriously hurt a cultivator if they weren't careful. Of course, their hooves were also surrounded by fire.
