She landed on top of a Python Rhinoceros that had been on the outskirts of her attack range before and immediately stabbed it through the eye and reaching what she surmised was it's brain, not giving it the chance to attack with it's head and then pulling out her sword to sever the tail that was coming at her. As the beast fell, she again swung her whip to decapitate a few more of the demonic beasts with a straight face. Her now bloody sword flew forward with her person behind it as it engaged in ground combat with the wall of protective demonic beasts. A Raging Fire Horse tried to trample her underfoot but she ran through it's legs and cut open it's stomach from the bottom, scorching her clothes in the process. The Raging Fire Horse let out a loud cry as it folded it's legs and fell down in agony. It was soon trampled dead by the other demonic beasts rushing to attack Shen Tianyu along with it's spilled organs and guts.

Her next opponent was a Dead Soul Beast that came forward to confront her. It looked like a lion with long fangs and very long fur that somehow doesn't get tangled. It's claws made clicking sounds when they hit each other as it stepped forward, similar to metal claws. It's eyes were a glowing red with no irises or pupils, it's slight pulsing being the only indication the creature was alive, aside from it moving fluidly. It lifted one of it's claws and swiped down at Shen Tianyu who promptly dodged by jumping backwards. She killed another demonic beast with her sword as she landed, adding to the pile of demonic beast corpses around her that had fallen from her whip and created a slight barricade to the still incoming onslaught of their kind. The Dead Soul Beast gave out a defeaning roar that was enough tot stop the demonic beasts coming for her in their tracks. Because of her cultivation that heightened her hearing naturally, the sound was even more painful for Shen Tianyu who felt like her eardrums had burst and an incoming, splitting headache. Even so, she didn't dare take her eyes off the Dead Soul Beast in front of her. The Dead Soul Beast was one of the one of the "Progenitors" in the demonic beast world and no one knows their true origins. Among the thousands of demonic beasts, there was a small percentage of them that were considered "Progenitors", though the actual number itself didn't seem very small but compared to the overarching number of beasts classified as demonic beasts, it does seem small. Progenitors were not always the most powerful but a powerful demonic beast had to be a Progenitor or have some of their blood in their veins. They were theorized to be the first demonic beasts to appear and were recorded since written history has existed but nothing ever even hinted at their origins, making cultivators and normal humans alike scratch their heads and scramble to come up with reasons for their appearance. Some thought thay had existed when the world was created and served as rivals to humans that grew alongside them as they attained cultivation and got stronger. Others thought they were manmade, much like many of the other demonic beasts, or were some kind of unnatural monster that shouldn't exist in nature.

Dead Soul Beasts were named so because they had no real "windows to the soul" as humans put it, since their eyes didn't have any other features an eye should aside from the shape and there being color, and the glowing red reminded many of ghost fires. Yet they were still moving so they weren't completely dead or anything and in fact moved very fluidly, completely unlike a dying creature or a moving corpse. There were technically some demonic beasts that could control Progenitors but those tended to be the lower fighting prowess ones and were scoffed at by other Progenitors, and even some average demonic beasts albeit behind their backs. Though a Dead Soul Beast wasn't the most powerful, it also wasn't one of the weakest, so it shouldn't be possible for a mere Soul-Snatching Hare to be able to control it. They were able to create shockwaves from their roars and their fangs and claws were as hard as most swords, meaning they could easily cut a human in half or just rupture their organs and kill them from the inside. Their furry hide was also an interesting shield, weapons bounced off it but it wasn't hard like their fangs and claws but were in fact very soft and even shiny. How people knew that, no one actually knows so there's no point in wondering. However, here was a Dead soul Beast standing before Shen Tianyu protecting, essentially in a lower plane of existence, demonic beast that didn't have much lone fighting prowess.

As she looked for the Dead Soul Beast's next move with the aching of an oncoming headach from her brain and from her ears, she felt something warm trickle down from her ears. She didn't have the time to see what it was but she could guess what the liquid was. 'It's roar wasn't at full power. Looks like I'll have to armor my entire body with spiritual power... it's inefficient but it's better than having a ruptured and bleeding organ.' She thought as she circulated her spiritual power throughout her body to create shields for her organs that didn't disturb the blood flow in the veins nor the pulsing of her muscles. Perhaps the roar from it was a warning signal, but she didn't sense the demonic beasts trying to attack her anymore but was just sitting back to watch, gathering in a circle on top of or around the corpse pile she had made.

She retracted her now stained whip and held it ready by her side with her bloody sword in her other hand. The Dead soul Beast growled at her as it crouched it's front body, ready to pounce. Even when it was airborne, Shen Tianyu just watched it and didn't move. It was only when the clawds it swung were about to touch her when she moved out of the way, just enough for it to land without touching her and for the small crater it made to not reach her. In the makeshift ring, the Progenitor demonic beast and a human cultivator played this game of cat and mouse. It was only after Shen Tianyu determined it's attack pattern and speed did she begin to counterattack. This time, before it even swung it's claws, her whip lashed out, aiming straight for it's eyes. Unfortunately, it closed it's eyes and turned it's head so that the whip lashed across it's face and eyelids, which were apparently as hard as the rest of it's hide she finds out the hard way, leaving it's eyes undamaged. And despite having it's eyes closed, it's claws still swung in her direction without veering off course. Naturally she was able to dodge just as before. 'Tch. I won't last if I try to increase my strength enough to be able to strangle it like Herc*les and the Neme*n Lion with spiritual power. No normal human is born to be able to contend with a demonic beast in terms of strength, that's why cultivation became such a popular thing and as a defense mechanism for the human race. But I can't injure it with it's whole body getting in the way and it's not like I can reach in and destroy it's body from the inside. It'll bite me in half before I do. And because of the entrance exam, I didn't bring any of my poisons either. What do I do? Ugh. My weapons are subpar too because I was afraid my other ones might not be qualified. A fighter fights best with weapons they are familiar with after all, even if the School could offer high-grade weapons, they won't compare with ones I've dyed with my own blood and sweat. Hah. Really such a pain, what to do?' She sighed as she stood ready at attention for the slightest movement from her non-human oponent.

It pounced on her again and even roared. Good thing, Shen Tianyu had been protecting her body with her spiritual power the entire time and even made extra protection for her organs. It shook her to the core and increased the throbbing of her headache despite her barely being able to hear it by this point. 'Oh no. I'm not going to loose my hearing right? I need to call up Luo Shue and maybe even Tian Yu after this. I swear if I don't get accepted, I'm going to file a lawsuit to at least recompensate my damaged ears. Wait, there's no phones or anything here, I'm going to need to send a pigeon or something. Ugh. That'll take days.' She talked to herself as she flung out her whip to keep the Dead Soul Beast at bay, even for just a momet, to regain her footing and sense of balance. It's a Greek mythology thing. You can try looking it up if you don't know. I censored it because, you know, copyright is a thing and I don't have the resources to fight a lawsuit.
