She walked all the way back to the Registration Hall, passing various empty buildings. She peeked in to see one of the officers was still there, maybe to lead any lost applicants.

"Um..." She made her prescence known and the officer turned toward her. It was the one that had initially addressed them before the exam started. She walked out from behind the door and bowed to him in greeting. She straightened up to find the officer was looking at her with a straight expression, not surprised nor distainful. "I was looking for the Medical Office but I don't know where it is so I was hoping this Senior Brother can point me in the correct direction."

"I'll take you there." He replied shortly as he got up from his seat and walked towards her. She bowed in thanks and moved out of the way. She followed him as he went off the main road and walked for a little while. The officer stopped in front of a two-story wooden building with a large magnolia carved on it's door. There were carved wooden windows on both sides of the door in a circular shape. He knocked on the door before he pushed open the doors.

"One of the applicants requests for treatment." He said to no one in particular as he stepped over the threshold.

Shen Tianyu followed after him and looked around curiously. Next to the windows she saw from the outside were cloth curtains that were currently tied to the side in order gfor sunlight to filter in. The whole place had plenty of windows and was very well-lit. Though the amount of windows caused Shen Tianyu to worry about the sturdiness of the structure. The whole first floor was a single room with a large rectangular window at the back. At the front of the room, where the entrance was located, was where the person in charge did their work. On the left was a bunch of shelves containing books and another that held slim wooden boxes placed sideways like books. In front of the shelves were a bunch of chests containing medical equipment and herbs, some of which were opened and some closed. Thankfully, none of the contents were strewn on the floor so at least the place was sanitary. On the right was a hurricane disaster. Shen Tianyu could faintly make out a desk and chair buried in piles and toppling piles of paper, medical tools, gadgets and books. The space around the desk was littered with bigger gadgets that couldn't fir on the desk and crumpled pieces of paper.

'Waah... I'm getting a sense of deja vu. I wonder why...' She laughed hollowly to herself within her head.

Thankfully for the patients on the first floor, the hurricane mess and the shelves only took up one-third of the room. The rest of the wide room was separated by simple beds and curtains for every bed to ensure the patient's privacy.

'This place is basically the Nurse's Office of this School, huh...' She commented but then looked back at the desk and sighed in helplessness.

At this moment, someone that seemed no older than a student emerged fromm one of the curtains shrouding a bed. "Oh, is it serious? If it is, I'll have to wake up Elder Bian." The female said as she walked over to the officer. She was wearing the same uniform as him and had the same badge but the chest of her robe, where the badge was placed, was embroidered with a magnolia flower.

The officer silently stepped aside and indicated at Shen Tianyu who stepped forward. "Hello Senior Sister." She dipped her back in a small bow.

The new Senior sister examined her for an instant and clapped her hands. "You don't look very severely injured. did you get injured internally? If not, I can be the one to treat you, if you don't mind."

"Ah, no, I've only sustained external wounds as far as I'm aware. I hope it won't be too much trouble for Senior Sister to help treat me. Or I could just do it myself as long as I have some salve and cloth." She politely replied with a small smile on her face.

"No problem, no problem at all! You're the first patient of the day today so we have tons of time. Geez, I was getting bored because no one was coming in." She complained with a pout as she motioned to the officer that she'll take over from there. The officer nodded and left, closing the doors behind him and the female student gently pulled Shen Tianyu's arms to lead her to the first bed on the left, the more orderly side of the room. She lightly pushed on her shoudlers to get her to sit on the bed, which she did.

Shen Tianyu tried having a chat with her as she went to find the medical slaves within the chests and some cloth to bind her injuries. "Is Senior sister part of the Medical Division?"

"That's right. I'm an Inner deiciple under Elder Bian, one of the elders in the Medical Department. By the way, I already finished my core Physical injury classes so don't worry, I can treat you just fine." She replied as she rummaged through one of the chests.

"That's amazing, does that mean, you're in the Internal Medicine Department now? Ah, I forgot to introduce myelf, my name is Shen Tianyu."

"Oh, me too." She gave an embarrassed laugh. "I'm Hei Mingchen. And that's right, did Motsuma tell you?"

"Motsuma?"

"Ah, the officer you came in with, he's called Motsuma. And if I remember correctly, he's inc harge of the introduction speech this year, isn't he?"

"Ah, yes. He told us about the School during his introduction." Shen Tianyu responded just as the female Medical Division student got up from in front of the chest with two small circular boxes, which was also made of wood. She put down the small lacquered boxes next to Shen Tianyu on the bed.

"Wait for a bit, I'm going to find some bandages, okay?" She told Shen Tianyu as she went back to close the chest and opened another one. This chest was filled with cloth bandages so the student didn't need to rummage through it like before, instead just grabbing a roll and closing it again. The female Medical Division student walked back to Shen Tianyu and closed the curtains, obstructing them from sight at all angles. she even closed the curtains in front of the window that was above the head of the bed. The curtains were thin enought to still let in light but thick enough to obscure what was going on within the enclosed space.

"Okay, take off your clothes, I'll apply the salve and bandage you, okay?"

Shen Tianyu nodded indifferently and took off her outer robe and her zhongyi. She was still wearing some modern-day underwear she made with the help of some of her family members at Yaodu. The underwear became popular among their people and businesses and is now being produced and handed out to whoever ordered it. She still had first priority though, since she was more or less the one of the inventors. She just didn't feel very comfortable without them.

Hei Mingchen let out a soft gasp and almost dropped the lacquered box she was holding. Shen Tianyu didn't really mind showing them to other people. She just worries about showing those she holds close to her heart because she didn't want them to push her away if they were disgusted by them. Her scars were proof that she had lived through hard times, that she had survived so she didn't feel ashamed of them. With a nonchalant look on her face, Shen Tianyu turned to the Medical Division student and questioned her. "Senior Sister Hei?"

Having her patient call out her name brought Hei Mingchen back to her senses and she gave an awkward laugh. "Sorry, sorry. I'll apply the disinfectant first okay?" She didn't say anything but instead went about her job. She opened the box and ripped a piece of the cloth bandage off the roll and dribbled some of the contents of the box onto the piece of cloth. Needless to say, it smelled and looked like wine. They didn't have antiseptic in this world so they used alcohol to disinfect wounds. She held up the piece of cloth and looked at Shen Tianyu who was watching her over her shoulder.

"It'll sting a little bit but bear with it ok?" Hei Mingchen told her. Shen Tianyu nodded and turned her head back to not tire her neck out. Hei Mingchen started to gently wipe her wounds with the alcohol-soaked cloth but shen Tianyu didn't so much as twitch an eyebrow. Her pain receptors had long become dull to this kind of minor pain. It certainly stung a little bit but not enough for her senses to get excited over. More than that, the coldness of being without her clothes in the middle of winter in an almost empty room with plenty of windows for wind to flow through bothered her more. inner robe
