The first youth sneaked up behind her and tried to knock her out but she turned around to the side and dodged it, just enough so that she didn't seem to have narrowly escaped but not big enough as to cause an opening. They tried to sneak behind her, aim for her chest and clothes, almost anything to try to divert her attention but none of them worked.
Shen Tianyu also had her share of fun playing with them. She would sometimes kick them to the edge of stage to scare them. Other times she would beat them severely before backing off. They wouldn't concede so she didn't mind to keep playing with them either. Besides, it's been a while since she could bully someone with her strength. She hadn't been able to since she came to this world. 14 years! She had been a weakling for 14 years! Naturally, she wanted to vent and show her dominance!
Whether the youths could tell she was only playing with them, no one knew yet. But the audience could clearly see it. Her movements that dodged the opponents attempts at a frustrating distance, the slight smile on her face and her eyes radiating enjoyment were all for them to see. "Tian'er really likes money." Rong Jian commented after being ignored for so long. She had always at least tried to converse with him whenever they were traveling but now, she was staring at the money bag like an obsessed person and completely ignored him, not even glancing at him.
"Of course I do, who doesn't?" Shen Tianyu countered without turning to look at him. As a businesswoman, how could she not? Especially when she came from a world dependent on materialistic things.
"But," she finally turned around to look at him. "I still love my loved ones the most." She didn't hate money, but in the end she didn't love it. If you loved, something, would you easily let it go? Everyone said they loved money yet they threw it around as if it was trash instead. "I like money to spend but I do not love money." Shen Tianyu corrected her previous statement about money after thinking for a bit.
"Oh? Why do you say that?" Rong Jian tilted his head, looking at her.
"Because if you loved something, you would be reluctant to let it go."
Rong Jian stopped in his tracks. Shen Tianyu turned back around after not hearing his footsteps and saw him several tens of steps back almost drowned out by the crowd. She half-ran back to him and peeked up at him from below.
"Are you okay? What happened? Why did you stop walking? I almost lost you."
Rong Jian snapped out of his daze and shook his head to clear his thoughts. He then returned her concern with a smile. "It's nothing, I was just too deep in thought."
They started walking again towards one of the restaurants they had went to previously. They didn't stay to watch the other matches this time.
"We're not watching the other matches today?" Rong Jian asked her.
"Already gauged them yesterday." Was Shen Tianyu's curt reply.
"But there were a lot of people!s matches we didn't see." The second round of the Tournament would be hell over 10 days or so. Naturally, there were many matches one would not see in the first day.
"Doesn't matter, we won't fight them tomorrow. Besides we could always watch tomorrow." Shen Tianyu stretched her arms, one of her hands still holding the money back and smiled at him. "Besides, I worked so hard today! Naturally,I should get a reward or celebration for it!"
"Worked hard?" Rong Jian asked with raised brows. "More like play, no?"
"Work hard, play hard and you will live a good life!" Shen Tianyu replied somewhat ambiguously.
