"I know you. Erza. I'm glad to see a familiar face here." Erza accepted his handshake with a smile. To be polite, Erza also stated her name even though the boy in front of her already knew who she was.
"Well, it is my honour to be remembered by a beautiful girl like you." Mozart suddenly bowed and kissed the back of her hand in the way of nobility. Erza was amused at his way of conduct.
Shortly after that, Elder Black arrived. He smiled when he saw Erza amongst the students. There were only five students other than Erza and Mozart, one girl and four boys. Erza did not recognize any of them.
Elder Black introduced himself and started his class by addressing the wrong perception about dark magic. He kept emphasizing that darkness was not equal to evil as there would not be light without darkness, just like there would not be a day without the night. It was part of the law which kept the world in balance.
"As a mage, I'm sure all of you are aware of the existence of mana. We communicate with the mana around us to connect with the world law. How good we are in communicating with the mana equal to how strong we are as a mage."
"Most mages use their voices to communicate with the mana, while some use other mediums like sword, mirror, stick, book, crystal ball, or even their organs."
"I have a basic spell here called 'Dark Sphere'. I will teach you how to cast it and see how would you progress. It's up to you to decide which medium you want to use. If you have any question, feel free to ask me."
Elder Black then taught his students on how to cast the attacking spell. He also demonstrated the attack. He used various mediums starting from his finger, palm, voice, until his eyes. The students were all amazed by his proficiency.
Soon, one by one, the students tried to cast it. All of them failed in their first try. Most students could not maintain their dark spheres long enough.
The first one to succeed was unexpectedly Mozart. He only needed 30 minutes to master the spell. Even Elder Black could not hide his surprise. Mozart was one of the most talented students he had ever seen. From his experience, most new students would need hours or even days to master it. And considering the fact that Mozart was a thief, this made his achievement even more awesome.
"Need some help?" Mozart teased Erza.
"My auntie told me to refuse the help from a stranger. They usually have hidden motives."
"I thought I am already your friend?" Mozart knew that she was joking.
"Friends should directly help each other. No need to ask." Erza pouted. It was followed by Mozart helpless smile.
"It's not that hard. You need to feel the mana and touch upon the essence of darkness, just like how you did it with your black lightning."
Erza trembled inwardly but she tried not to show it outside. After her long talk with Beel in these past few days, Erza was informed that some people might guess that she had a demon bloodline from her last performance in the final.
However, they must be someone who was very familiar with demon, or simply the demons themselves. They might also be like her, a half demon. She did not know Mozart was in which category.
Mozart just chuckled seeing Erza who was intensely staring at him.
"Relax, I'm not your enemy." He got close and whispered to her ear.
Erza then turned her head facing him and said "I hope it will always be the case." Their faces were so close from each other.
Mozart heart skipped a beat.
'Little demoness!' He cursed inwardly. In the end, it was Mozart who backed off first with a red face.
Erza then followed what he said and managed to master the spell few minutes later, making her the second student who succeeded. Elder Black was absolutely excited to see the performances of his two students. They were more talented than he thought.
Erza and Beel then spent the rest of their time familiarizing themselves with the spell. They wanted to be able to cast it faster and dealt more damage.
"That's all for today. You can practice it on your own in your spare time. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my number." Elder Black concluded today class and gave his number to the students.
For all of the selective courses, it was up to the teacher to decide whether he wanted to have afternoon class or not. It seemed like Elder Black thought that today lesson was enough and did not want his students to be overloaded.
Since they had the same destination, Erza and Mozart walked together to the cafeteria. They were talking like any other normal friends. Their main topic was obviously about dark magic. Both youths found the opposite party to have an interesting point of view which was beneficial to their own understanding about dark magic.
Soon, Erza noticed her friends who were already waiting for her amongst the people in the cafeteria.
"Erza, here!" Lisa waved her hand at her.
"Eh, why is she with him?" Elsa noticed Mozart who was walking alongside Erza.
"Hmmm.. See you later." Mozart excused himself as they got nearer to her friends.
"Where are you going? You have friends waiting for you?"
"I'm used to being alone." Mozart said with a smile.
"Not okay. Come join us." Erza suddenly grabbed his hand and pulled him closer.
As the strongest student in their grade, everyone was paying attention to Erza every moves. And now, seeing her pulling a boy, everyone ended up with their own assumptions. Interestingly, most of them thought Erza chose Mozart to be her servant boy. If only Mozart knew what they were thinking….
"Girls, this is Mozart. Mozart, these are my friends. Elsa, Lisa, and Linda." Erza introduced both parties.
"Elsa." Elsa offered Mozart a handshake with a smile, pretending she did not know him beforehand. Mozart played along and shook her hand.

The other girls suddenly remembered that Mozart and Elsa had actually fought each other in the last competition. Next, one by one, Mozart had his handshakes with Lisa and Linda.
As expected, Mozart soon found himself being bombarded with questions after questions from the girls. Obviously, they also asked about how Erza and him ended up coming together. Elsa was surprised to see how quickly Mozart was able to blend in with the group.
Sitting a bit further from them, Qi Long was not happy at all with what he was seeing. He really wanted to be in Mozart position. However, he knew that now was not the right time to talk with Erza, especially after he found out from the old ancestor that Erza was aware of Eternal Pagoda Art.
He was not the only one who was not feeling good. The other boys were also cursing Mozart luck after looking at him being surrounded by four beautiful girls. Mozart suddenly became the envy of all the boys in the cafeteria.

"What are you planning to do?" Mozart asked Erza.
"I'm going to Macquarie Lake to take a rest. How about you?" It was the place where Erza often met up with Beel.
"I have nothing to do. If you don't mind, I would like to tag along with you."
