Chapter 2 Holy Words

Outside Fowls' courtyard, crowds were packed and noisy. There might be dozens of hundreds of people.

None of these people understood what Mr. Hilton had said. He’s only thought to be frustrated and went crazy. In the past few days, he was still devastated and dozed off after random meals, and finally collapsed.

These people gathered in a circle and pointed at the old Hilton tied to the tree. Some people expressed sympathy, some were curious, some felt embarrassed... but no one came forward to put the old man down. The nobles punished the servants, which was a family matter. Even the local law can't settle this kind of issue, not to mention these civilians.

Only Fowls knew what the old man said. Of course, he knew!

With Swaydi’s help, Fowls opened the door and walked into the crowd, watching the pure and frantic eyes of the old man tied to the tree, Fowls dumbly whispered to himself: Professor Xie, you have come too...

When I occupied this body from the assassination of the original soul, you took the body of the old butler who was implicated in the blast.

In the past life, we were an operator and an innocent passenger. In this life, we become a master and a servant. What a drama! Looking at the old man as crazy as if he was dying to hear something from the air, Fowls figured in silence.

Of course, he would not come forward to recognize Professor Xie. Even if he did so, Professor Xie could not remember him...

At this moment, he was a little surprised, and more admired to this man! Such man was the designer of the Parallel Universe Crossing Experiment, known as the Federal Chief Scientist!

Although the experiment failed, his body was gone together with the spacecraft and his soul was inexplicably transferred to a strange old guy, professor didn’t give up searching for science not even for a second.

After only a few days of hard work, he has figured out a possible theoretical basis for the failure of the experiment... It is only explicable that these theories are unverifiable because there are no high-precision instruments for measurements.

Just for his perseverance, Fowls especially admires this guy, at least... he himself doesn’t have this person’s keen instinct for science. Only based on the observation of a certain scene, Fowls knew that the old guy’s guess might be correct.

The collapse of the spacecraft happened as a flash, and Professor Xie turned into ashes in half a second. Only Fowles retained the instantaneous memory due to the particularity of his own state. So he clearly observed that it was indeed a nuclear explosion from the spacecraft itself. The explosion was absolutely strong, and seemed even more blazing than the sun!

Since the real Hilton was dead, the past resentment should be dispelled. “The substitute now seems to be...useful.” Fowls sketched out some intrigues fast, looked Swaydi in her full-of-expectations eyes and nodded: "Let him go!"

"Okay!" Swaydi delightedly separated the crowd and came straight to the old man to help him untie the bondage. "Uncle Hilton, the young master wants me to let you go!"

The girl was really too kind. She was so sympathetic to the old man’s regained freedom that she overlooked something.

In fact, she could’ve recited the words of Fowls to the two guards at the door and make them do the job, but instead she rushed out of the door herself. Of course she ignored her boss who used her as a cane.

So when she came to the door with her uncle Hilton, she suddenly realized...

Her boss now held arms up, with upper body leaning forward. He was stiff like a sculpture with a live face. His face blushed red and blue, and sweat heavily. It felt that if there were no support to him, he would fall immediately. You would’ve seen this from a person who just twisted his waist.

"Bong!" Swaydi threw Hilton on the ground. "Young Master, are you okay? Sorry! I’m so sorry! Swaydi didn’t mean to..."

The old man had already been weak to the extreme for the whole time. When he got dropped down by Swaydi, he was fainted right away.

The crowd outside the door gradually dispersed when there was nothing to watch no more...

"Swaydi, you lost something." Being re-held by the maid, Fowls pretended to be hurt for a minute before he made a relief look.
"Ah, yes, yes, I will take care of that fast." After carefully seated her boss, Swaydi rushed back to help the fainted old man, and dragged him back to his own room.

While dragging the old guy, the naïve maid thought that, “Young master is so kind. He was in pain himself, yet still remember to remind me to take care of Mr. Hilton.”

However, when she settled the old man and got back, she could never laugh again.

Her boss was sitting in the yard waiting for her, and his face was icy, "You just forgot me behind and ran away?"

"You know what, it completely is malfeasance! The meaning of one’s life in this world is to take responsibility and to do his job. A person who does not even do his job doesn’t even worth living!"

Swaydi felt nervous and crushed. Fowls' harshness had seriously affected her. She started questioning herself: she might be wasting her life. "I'm sorry, Master Fowls, I made a serious mistake! I was wrong!..."

The girl was so overwhelmed that she couldn’t stop crying. Her tears were like dew on flowers, or beads on jade plate. Unfortunately, Fowls was unmoved.

"Swaydi, I need to punish you!"

"Please... no deduct my salary." The girl clenched her teeth, but at the last minute she made such a request.

"...Well." Fowls was a bit shocked, didn't he scare her? Unlikely. He pulled off his best performance.

"I want to punish you for playing a game with me."

"Game?" Swaydi stopped sobbing. Tears were still running around in her big blue eyes, with no sign to drop down.

"Well, a fun one called the king game." Fowls said, trying his best not to burst into laughs.

September 1, Year 7993 of the Paweier Calendar, the day has passed.

It was a bland day. But because of an inexplicable madness, a great and unknown encounter, it became a remarkable day.

Great people, even his fart is fragrant, there will be good things recorded about him, and there will be a sue for later generations: someone, sometime in a certain month, made a fart. And then, somewhere, the wind turned to be a big hit, the waves became wild, the houses got destroyed, and the dems got ruined...

This has always been the case, so this afternoon of this month of this year, the old man who was tied to the tree, because of the influence of some person from later generations, became a remarkable specialist from the history.

However, it was not until hundreds of years later that some researchers who had progressed to a certain extent on a certain research path, were slightly aware of the true meaning of this old Mr. Hilton.

Then, gradually, the revolutionary changes in the society at that time were linked to the life trajectories of a few people. After that people understood the start of the changes that made the entire crystal wall system turned upside down...

Since then, September 1st, is named as the Holy Words Day. The Holy man, Hilton, perceived inspirations from the heavens and the earth, gave words for the universe on that day. And the year 7993 of Paweier Calendar, has been called the Magic Origin Year. Just like the first year of Paweier, was defined by the time prophet Aristotle built the complete Magic System.

Of course, that's all future talk. At this moment, the Paweier calendar is still the Paweier calendar.

History is history. It is something always remains the same along the time line, like a story carved on rocks.

Later historians often wondered how the first few great people who had led the world for centuries realized the essence of the world and began to relentlessly pursue and drive the changes of the whole universe. The universe is the same, for the unknown. Most of the pursuits start from people’s inner doubts and fears...

The old man who was stunned by Swaydi finally woke up. The hit was not that heavy. After a good night's sleep and a refreshing breakfast, he almost recovered.

He leaned on the side of the fountain, kneeling like a child, touching the big bump on his forhead with one hand, and curiously watching the circulation of the fountain.

"This is magic? Hey, interesting, really interesting!" The old man took the other hand and poked the water curtain, feeling that he had found a new goal in life.

At the same time, Swaydi was running like a bambi on the ups and downs of the road in Orlando. Her pink cheek looked watery.

She received all the salary yesterday, eight coppers. She just ran through the largest bakery in Orlando, and bought two bags of warm breadcrumbs from the back door with three coppers.

She felt happy that Master Fowls was hurt. She didn’t hate him, she just enjoyed the double pay from the increased workload...

“No, you shouldn’t think so, it’s immoral!” The girl shook her head and rushed her thoughts out of her mind.

But...but the young master did what he did last night, is that moral? The girl couldn't help but think of some of the embarrassing fragments of last night. Her face was involuntarily redder, like a ripe tomato.

“Swaydi, although the young master raised a lot of inappropriate demands, but you, you couldn’t help yourself, you did many things that you would never do? Swaydi, you were bad!

If you let Wood know, if you let him know...

A simple and kind girl, how could she be alert of the magic power contained in the game that was so popular in another universe. She was still wondering why she was so bold at the time, or so...debauched.

The girl took the same rush as her heartbeat, and ran through the familiar lanes until a group of childish calls came into her ears, and then she stopped. She turned around, and came to the large shattering house. She tossed the big bag of breadcrumbs to the little children.

"With these breadcrumbs, although you won’t be starving no more, you still have to work hard for food!" The girl shouted like always, waved her arm to say goodbye, and head back to the road. She still need to take the other bag of breadcrumbs home, and let the lady next door make a crispy pancake with them and brought it to her brothers.

"Sister Swaydi, don't rush back! Wood found a good job at the Haifeng Tavern. I heard that he will soon be able to pay for the ceremony. You will soon be a bride..."

Swaydi ran even faster. Kids are so grown-up now, when I was at their age... But what kind of job did Wood find?

Swaydi’s doubts were joyful, confused and full of expectations;

Hilton’s doubts were rigorous, confused and full of dreams;

Then our character Fowls’ doubts at the moment were embarrassing, confused and full of shilly-shally...
