Today, upon a bus, I saw a very beautiful

woman and wished I were as beautiful.

When suddenly she rose to leave,

I saw her hobble down the aisle....

She had one leg and wore a crutch.

But as she passed, she passed a smile.

Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.

I have two legs; the world is mine.

I stopped to buy some candy.

The lad who sold it had such charm.

I talked with him, he seemed so glad.

If I were late, it'd do no harm.

And as I left, he said to me,

"I thank you, you've been so kind.

It's nice to talk with folks like you.

You see," he said, "I'm blind."

Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.

I have two eyes; the world is mine.

Later while walking down the street,

I saw a child I knew.

He stood and watched the others play,

but he did not know what to do.

I stopped a moment and then I said,

"Why don't you join them dear?"

He looked ahead without a word.

I forgot, he couldn't hear.

Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.

I have two ears; the world is mine.

With feet to take me where I'd go.

With eyes to see the sunset's glow.

With ears to hear what I'd know.

Oh, God, forgive me when I whine.

I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine.

TEEN CUSTOMER CARE

INBOX:

Hello T-4-G,

There's this boy in my college. He has been asking me to date him for quite some time now, I have being shying away from answering not because I don't like him but because I'm afraid. I feel as if saying yes to him is committing a major sin. I feel as if I'm leading myself astray by doing this. He is a good boy, really nice and responsible. I like him too but I wonna be A-T-4-G, any remedies?

OUTBOX:

Hey 'Anonymous' (why did you hide your name? Shy?  ),

Yes, there sure are remedies. The issue about dating and sex is the major topic of discussion amongst everyone, teenagers as well as adults. If I must totally answer this question, it may take me a whole new book. But I would try my best to cut it down in summary.

Ricky and Brenda had known each other for as long as time was invented. The Anderson's and Peters' were two intertwined families, they were neighbours and the fathers of the houses were both colleagues in the same company so the relationship was quite strong. The pairing of Ricky and Brenda started right from when Brenda was born eighteen months after Ricky. They teased them till it stuck. The pair went through kindergarten, primary school, high school and even university together. Gradually, their relationship became strictly sex-based. Ricky would usually quarrel and pick up a fight when Brenda opposed or refused to give in to his sexual desires. However, Brenda just stuck since she did not want to breach the rapport between the families. She almost became a sex slave when she realised they weren't compatible and she decided to damn the consequences leading to a break up. She realised their relationship had no strong foundation neither did she see a bright future with it…

Ricky and Brenda's relationship was based on lust and not love. Dating is for mature minds; I don't wonna put an age restriction because I've come to realise that maturity aint about the age but your mind/ I.Q- that's the truth. Before saying yes to anyone, you've got to think hard about a lot of things. Starting from what your intention is towards being with the person, what you stand to gain positively and spiritually when you are with the person, if it's sex-based or not, whether you would be distracted or not, the impact you would have on each other's lives… etc. If you have weighed all these measures and have seen that the pros are more than the cons, then I think your good to say yes (if you've got a mature mind). If otherwise, I think you need not bother, it would be a fruitless venture. Pssst, remember Solomon when he says, do not stir up love until it is ready… (Songs of Solomon 3:5-6)

Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you

by the gazelles and by the does of the field:

Do not arouse or awaken love

until it so desires - NIV)

So my shy anonymous friend, my advice to you is to evaluate yourself and that guy, if you feel alright, go ahead. Do not forget to pray about it and seek God's approval.
