In the afternoon, some of the officers from the Department of Justice had their lunch at the food stalls. As one of the officers of the office, Jiang Xiao Liang joined his fellow comrade to eat. The third son of the Jiang's family was having his noodles when he heard one of them mentioned Yang Yun.

As some of the officers from the Department of Justice have joined the army at some point, it was not strange that they know Yang Yun. After all, Yang Yun was said to be one of the promising soldiers. He was promoted as the young captain of the Elite Squad at such a young age. Many of them looked up at Yang Yun.

However, recently, they heard the news that Yang Yun was suspended by General Jiang Xiao Xian indefinitely. The officers who had worked with Yang Yun in the army was worried.

Jiang Xiao Liang listened to their conversations in silent and soon realized that their conversation had stopped. He lifted his head and saw that the group was looking at him. The chopstick in Jiang Xiao Liang's hand paused mid-air. He raised his brow and said, "What?"

"You're closer to Yang Yun," one of the officers spoke. "Why don't you tell us what is going on with him?"

Jiang Xiao Liang looked away and continued to eat his noodle. "How am I supposed to know?" he spoke with his mouth full. "The last time I visited him, he was still recuperating."

"Didn't the General tell you anything?" the officer asked again.

"I haven't seen my elder brother for months," Jiang Xiao Liang answered curtly.

Ever since Jiang Xiao Xian moved to the capital city, he has been busy with tasks from the Emperor, while Jiang Xiao Liang was busy with the investigation of the missing provision sent to the Western borders. Although the siblings live in the same house, they were never around at the same time.

Jiang Xiao Liang quickly finished his noodles and stood up.

"Chief Jiang," the officer was shocked when Jiang Xiao Liang suddenly stood. "Where are you going?"

"I have somewhere I need to go. Tell the director that I will return for the night shift," Jiang Xiao Liang said. He put some money on the table and said, "My treat." Then he disappeared in the crowd.

Jiang Xiao Liang headed home to look for his elder brother. When he arrived at the Jiang's household, one of the servants told him that Jiang Xiao Xian entered the palace the morning and had not returned yet. Jiang Xiao Liang turned around with a sigh. Just as he was planning to return to his courtyard, Xiao Liang saw the maidservants carrying a tray of refreshment and headed towards his mother's room.

"Did someone come to visit my mother?" Jiang Xiao Liang asked.

The servant nodded. "Lady Liu from Yang's household come to visit."

Jiang Xiao Liang dismissed the servant and decided to come over to his mother's courtyard greet Yang Yun's mother. Once he approached Han Yunyi's courtyard, Jiang Xiao Liang could hear someone sobbed. He stopped the maidservants from notifying his arrival and stood outside. There, he listened to every word that Liu Qing Xin had said about Yang Yun.

After a few minutes of hiding and eavesdropping to the ladies conversation, Jiang Xiao Liang entered the room. He greeted the two ladies and turned to his mother. "Mother. Tell me what is wrong with Yang Yun?"

Han Yunyi exchanged a glance with Liu Qing Xin. Then she stood up and smiled. "Why did you come back? I thought you were supposed to return tomorrow. Have you eaten yet?"

"I had noddles with the guys," Jiang Xiao Liang said. He helped his mother back to her seat and smiled. He quickly replaced the frown on his face with a smile as he did not want her mother to worry. "Mother, I heard that Yang Yun hadn't been well recently, is it true?"

"Well," Han Yunyi hesitated.

"The other guys were worried about him as well," Jiang Xiao Liang said. "You know that we all have served the army together at some point."

Han Yunyi glanced at Yang Yun's mother. Once she could see that Liu Qing Xin was not uncomfortable with talking about Yang Yun, Han Yunyi began to tell her son of what was going on with Yang Yun ever since Mingyue went missing. "Your grandfather thinks he's depressed," Han Yunyi said after a while.

"Jiang Xiao Liang," Liu Qing Xin called his name softly. "I know back in the army you were closer to Yang Yun. If you can, I hope that you can visit him and give him some support."
