Mingyue walked into the crowd as she held the parcel in her hand tightly. She walked straight along the road with her eyes searching for his familiar silhouette. Soon, she reached the end of the market. The street was much quieter.

Just as she was about to make a turn at a corner, someone grabbed her on her wrist.

Her heart pounded. She lifted her leg to kick, but her leg stopped mid-air as she saw his familiar face. Mingyue dropped her leg and heaved in relief. "Yang Yun!"

"Why are you here?" Yang Yun asked with a frown.

"I was looking for you," Mingyue said. "I turned around and saw you're not there."

"I stepped away to the next stall to buy something." Yang Yun said. "I was worried when I didn't see you in that clothing store. I thought something happened."

"I'm sorry," she said when she noticed his worry.

"Why are you apologizing." Yang Yun took a deep breath and pulled her head to his chest. "I should be the one who apologizes. I went away without saying anything to you. You must be worried. I'm sorry."

Jiang Mingyue smiled. She stayed in his embrace for a while longer, listening to his heartbeat.

Soon, the two of them walked out of the street. Yang Yun escorted Mingyue back to the Jiang's house. Once they reached the door, Yang Yun grabbed her on her wrist.

"What is it?" Jiang Mingyue looked at her fiance with confusion.

"I have something for you." Yang Yun said. He fished into his pocket and took out something. Then, he lifted Mingyue's hand and slid something on her thumb.

Mingyue flinched slightly when she felt something cold went through her thumb. Her eyes widened when she saw a jade thumb ring. She looked at the ring and then, turned to Yang Yun.

"You like it?" Yang Yun asked with no expression on his face. But when Mingyue knew that he was worried that she might not like it when she saw the tense on the corner of his lips,

"You bought this for me?" Mingyue asked. "Is this why you disappeared from my side in the market earlier."

Yang Yun tried to smile, confirming her guess.

Mingyue watched the pale green ring on her thumb. Slowly, her lips curved to a smile. "I like it. But Yang Yun, you don't have to buy me this."

"I saw it when we walk past the store, and I thought it would look good on you."

Seeing his embarrassed expression on his face turned her giddy. Subconsciously, Mingyue tiptoed and brushed her lips against his cheek softly. "Thank you."
