"What are you doing here? I thought you left." Katie says with a quivering voice as she tries to stop her tears from falling. James cans see that she is about to break down so without answer her question he just puts his jacket on her shoulder and pulls her in for a hug.
Feeling the warm hug, Katie is extremely touched and can't hold back her tears as she began to cry on his shirt, while he just stood there with her silently comforting her.
It took a while for her to calm down, when she finally did he lead her to his car and drove home. He decided to let her stay in his penthouse for the night since her apartment was still further away and she was already sleepy.
When they got to his penthouse he took her to the guest room and told her to take a shower and he gave her a pair of his sister sleeping gown that she hadn't worn since she bought them. After he left her alone in the room she felt so lucky to have someone to comfort her today, because she knows she can't tell Cindy, she would just say 'I told you so' which was the last thing she needed to hear.
After freshening up she was preparing to sleep when she heard a faint knock, like the person was afraid she was already asleep. She gently got up to open the door, and there James was in his silk pajamas looking so handsome with a glass of warm milk.
"Here, this should help you sleep better and relax you." he said as he walked in to drop it on her bed side table. "Thank you so much for today" Katie says as she sincerely appreciates his presence today. "You are welcome; you can always count on me" James while starring directly into her eyes. James deep stare was too intense that Katie couldn't prevent herself from blushing hard. James gently smiles and walks towards the door where she is still standing, places a warm comforting kiss on her head and says "goodnight" then leaves without waiting for her reply. He knows that if he stays a minute longer he won't be able to control himself, but he doesn't want to push her away or scare her, so he decided to leave her.
Katie who is relishing in the kiss gently closes the door before walking towards the bed to drink the milk, which taste greater than normal milk to her for some reason. When she is done with the milk it doesn't take long for her to go to bed.
