Mother Xie was so upset by James disregard for them that she stormed towards Catherine landing a hot slap on her beautifully flawless fair skin, "can you see what you've causes. Will you only rest when my family is destroyed." Mother Xie screeched.
To be honest the slap wasn't so painful to Catherine but she needed to look pitiful so the old lady would speak up for her. So, when the slap landed she fell across the smearing a white dress and ruining her look. The tears just seemed to follow, Catherine was even surprised at how good of actor she was not only her even James was fooled. He rushed towards her helping her off the floor and wiping her tears away such a sweet moment completely infuriated the old lady even more
