Hence, the police personnel were all in plainclothes and operated secretly. They would hand over the operation to the apostles once they have identified the objective. Just when Lin Chen was in the midst of recalling what had happened in the building, the ruins of the collapsed building started to shake violently. All the apostles were staring at it nervously. It was as if an invisible force was separating the ruins into halves. Suddenly, a Scottish Fold appeared from the ruins with its back arched, and its fur all puffed up. It emerged from the ruins with its squinted eyes, staring right into Lin Chen's eyes.
At the instant when the Scottish Fold appeared, Lin Chen had already dashed towards it like a black bolt of lightning, leaving behind his afterimages. He stretched out his hand and slapped the cat with an astounding speed that cannot be seen by the naked eye.
Even amongst the apostles with accelerated speed, Lin Chen was the strongest among them.
The power to create earthquakes was too dangerous. Lin Chen would not allow the cat any chance of using its power again.
Just when his palm was about to make contact with the cat, the Scottish Fold's body quivered before it fell to the floor. Its eyes were shut, and its breathing was regular.
Lin Chen was taken aback by the cat's behavior, but he immediately realized, "Has the anesthesia taken effect?" Lin Chen heaved a sigh of relief as he carried the Scottish Fold into his arms and turned to the girl behind him. He said, "I'm telling you guys that your reactions are too slow." He was referring to how all of them stood rooted to the ground when the supercat reappeared.
"I'm sorry," the chubby boy lowered his head out of embarrassment.
Lin Chen shook his head as he looked at them. The chubby boy had not graduated from police academy. If not for his potential to be an apostle, he would not have been deployed for this mission before he graduated.
"Report to the higher-ups and ask them to send people over to receive the cat."
After relaying his instructions, the girl in ponytail took her phone and was about to call Inspector Ho.
Suddenly, there was a gunshot sound and the girls' phone exploded. The other apostles sent by the government immediately went into hiding.
"What happened? Who is it?" Lin Chen shouted. He saw that the ground from afar began to melt into a body of fluid. three masked men rose from the liquid.
One of the masked men was holding on to a pistol, and he came dashing towards Lin Chen.
A metal man went straight for the girl in ponytail. The remaining masked man went for the chubby boy.
Judging from the metal man and their ability to turn the ground into liquid, it was apparent that the gang of the masked men was apostles under Ho Hao Cang.
Lin Chen held his pistol and fired the anesthetic bullet at the masked man charging towards him. However, he was able to dodge the bullet quickly, and he continued running towards Lin Chen.
"Hmm, is it trying to get closer to me? That's good for me as well." Lin Chen smirked as he carefully placed the Scottish Fold on the floor. He activated his power and dashed towards the masked man like a black bolt of lightning. Before the masked man could react to Lin Chen's attack, Lin Chen had already positioned his pistol on the masked man's belly and fired off three rounds.
This was followed by three punches which landed on his face, neck, and chest.
This was all done in 0.3 seconds. It was impossible for an ordinary person to react to it.

"D*mn it!" Lin Chen dashed away at top speed as his body morphed into a giant gust of wind. However, the masked man was holding on to the edge of his shirt. Lin Chen's speed was too fast as he managed to escape with a torn shirt.
However, the masked man's action had delayed Lin Chen's escape, and Lin Chen was still a little too late.
Following the loud explosion, you could see the waves rippling radially from the grenade, and they were slowly catching up to Lin Chen in mid-air.

The masked man was blown away by the explosion. Lin Chen's vision turned black as he fell to the floor. He could only hear buzzing in his head, and his four limbs went limp. He was about to lose consciousness.
