"Are you sure?" A voice leaning more towards masculinity than feminity asked, his voice with a mix of a combination of anxiety and excitement.

"Yes, Hachiman-sama." Answered a distinctively monotone voice.

"Tsk, what a pain." Another voice uttered, there was annoyance within the voice, mixed with a profound amount of carefully hidden laziness; almost hidden that is. "Can't we just leave it alone." He grumbled. "I want to go back to my sweet bed and have a nice decade-long, maybe even century-long sleep." - And now he didn't just doesn't care anymore and stopped hiding it.

"That would lead to even more problems, Hypnos-san." A girly, strangely kind and slightly childish, yet mature voice spoke out. "Even if there is a problem, you're usually not like this. What happened?" She questioned the sleepy deity, then looked towards the direction where the first voice had vocalized out, "Actually, what even is the problem, Hachiman-san?" Hypnos and Hachiman's faces slightly paled.

"The Godslayer has died, Izanami-sama." Answered the second voice with the same monotone. Izanami's mouth widened to an 'O' in surprise as the revelation dawned upon her, but soon after, a face of confusion replaced it.

"Which one, Chaos-sama?" She asked the primordial. Although Chaos was primordial, or rather a primordial concept, it did not act like so in any way, preferring to address others as '-sama' even if it had a higher status than the other gods. "I didn't feel the Celtic queen of shadows or any powerful individuals come into the underworld for the past decade or so."

Upon her death by her son Kagutsuchi, she had become the ruler of the underworld, meaning she could feel the dead souls that roam it. There were other rulers, of course, and one such example was the Olympian, Hades.

Though she was bound to Yomi, there were still ways for her to visit the surface to meet some old friends in other pantheons, such as unbound clones - taught to her by her technical-daughter, Amaterasu. And, it was due to that, that she had yet to become consumed by the loneliness and constant numbness of the underworld, though unfortunately, making the clones do require much power and regaining it would perhaps take weeks, even months. Plus, even worse is, they only last a day or three. Also, though she was somewhat free from the sufferings of the underworld, she still harbored a deep hatred for Izanagi.

"Are you sure you want to know, Izanami-sama? You may not know how it would affect you." Chaos asked, its voice monotone, but grim, looking straight at Izanami's face. The two gods and goddess plus the primordial were sitting down on a rather large kotatsu futon, with food, drinks, and plastic playing cards on the table.

Whenever Izanami came up to the surface, several gods would come and do something they called an 'Izanami Hangout,' where they would solely have fun with one another. Often visitants were Chaos, who had nothing else better to do, and Amaterasu, but the latter was busy managing the sun with the other sun gods; it was the two's - especially Amaterasu's - favorite pastime.

Izanami nodded, and Chaos narrowed its physical aspects' eyes, and let out a rare sigh. "The abnormally lucky one with reasonable intellect and exceptional perception, but faulty - if not extremely faulty - decision making." Chaos replied, and a tinge of emotion could be heard from its voice: sadness. Izanami's usually beautiful form was slightly flickering, switching from a state of living decomposition to the former, while her now somewhat dangerously growling voice was combined with a strange echo.

Chaos sighed yet again, "I had warned you, though I had unfortunately not warned you of the severity of the issue. Well, severe at least for you, Izanami-sama" Chaos shifted his gaze towards Hachiman and Hypnos, who now both wore frightened expressions atop their already-pale faces. "Some frankly don't care while some others are rather happy for the Godslayer's death."

They were all good friends, but that, by no means, meant that one wasn't afraid of the other's prowess. In fact, though Izanami was usually kind and gentle, most, perhaps even all, gods and goddesses were afraid of Izanami when enraged, even some comparatively weaker primordials were terrified of her. It was not because of her true form, but because of her actual power - she was a major goddess that was powerful even in terms of major gods, it was relative to kings of gods, and even then, she would be able to defeat them moderately easily.

The reason for her rage was actually relatively easy to understand. Many, if not all, knew that she was in good relations with a certain Godslayer, namely, Yasuo - no last name. No one knew of it, or he just didn't have one, no one knows the truth of the matter, even himself.

However, unlike Izanami, many others disliked Yasuo. It was not because there was anything wrong with him, personality or appearance, but merely because there was discrimination against Godslayers; they were afraid of him.

It was never explained why Izanami was attached to the Godslayer as she had never told anyone why, nor anything about how he had become a Godslayer - no one knew who or what god he had slain, but it was a proven fact that he did kill one.

Just like the Shadow Realm's gatekeeper, Scáthach, the [Book of Knowledge] and [Akashic Records], the former being a lesser clone of the latter, revealed that Yasuo had the [Sealed] skill, [God Slayer]. To put simply, the [God Slayer] skill gave anyone with it, an advantage over [Divine Spirits], plus wraiths and [Servants] with the [Divinity] skill.

The reason why the [God Slayer] skill was in a [Sealed] form was that supposedly, Yasuo had only slain a single god. An unknown god. For Yasuo to [Unseal] the skill, he is required to kill more gods.

Izanami took a deep breath to calm down. "Truly, Chaos-sama?" And the one who was questioned merely nodded in response, while Hachiman and Hypnos both took a sigh of relief; her anger has somewhat quelled. "How did he die?" She whispered, but it was enough for them to all hear.

"The Godslayer had self-sealed his power, but I cannot fathom why." Chaos began, once again in monotone. Izanami lightly frowned. How could a primordial, notably one that is worshipped as the creator of the universe, not understand something? "And because he had sealed his own power, he was almost as weak a high high-class or low ultimate-class devil."

Everyone nodded to this. To many others, an ultimate-class level devil might have been at the peak of power, but to gods - at least high gods - they were nothing more than cannon fodder. Though some weaker gods would have trouble, maybe even die, to an ultimate-class...

"The Godslayer had adapted to modern society, and due to switching to multiple identities during the thousands of years, he had managed lived relatively peacefully. Though what was unfortunate was that many had tried to leech off of him, and he had allowed it, providing them with luxury that most of them never deserved."

Izanami grimaced at this revelation, her form once again flickering between beauty and skeleton. "How did he die?" She demanded, her voice now demonic leaving not a scrap of the previous gentleness, having no care for formality or position. Chaos's eyes narrowed towards her once again. "I ask of you again, are you sure you want to know?"

"Of course, I want to know who killed my so-" She growled, before her's and everyone else's eyes widened in shock. "WHAT?!" Screamed Hachiman and Hypnos, and Izanami started to release her malicious, evil, and death-like aura, her body already turning into something that resembled a scorched skeleton with her hair long, dark hair concealing her face.

"You will swear that you will not speak a word about this," Izanami commanded, and everyone quickly swore vow on their very own being that they would never reveal that the Godslayer was Izanami's son - they were all scared of the goddess and, even Chaos, did not want to anger her; they knew doing so would only bring misfortune. Soon after they had all sworn pledges, Izanami's figure changed back to her usual form, trying her best to calm down.

Hypnos and Hachiman both frowned. Though Yasuo might have been a Godslayer and now-claimed god, many had still favored against him in the past, and even now - they too had done the same after all. But learning that he was a god, they couldn't help but feel ever so slightly at fault.

'So that is why Izanami was so fond of the Godslayer... it is unfortunate that he had died... but why hadn't Izanami just made him stay in the Pantheon? The Godslayer would have been much safer...' Chaos thought ere once again hearing Izanami's voice, disrupting its thoughts, "I'll ask one last time. How did he die?" She asked, her voice no longer frenzied, but replaced with an odd calm, cold calm.

Chaos signed once again, three more times than routine. "Hugen Pendragon." It replied with a name. "The immortal ancestor of Arthur Pendragon, or more appropriately, Artoria Pendragon, the Once and Future King. The ruler of the First Heaven, the Lord of the Skies. The greatest friend and rival of a Godslayer, and killer of the same Godslayer... or rather, I should say, killer of the son of Izanami."

Izanami couldn't think of why the Lord of the Skies would kill Yasuo. What had her son done to earn his wrath? There was also the fact that she was not very involved with her son's personal life.

Then, Chaos slightly tinted its head to express its confusion. "But, I ask Izanami-sama, how did you birth the Godslayer? It should be impossible, your body forbids creation..."

Izanami slightly frowned but acknowledged Chaos' question none the less. "Swear an oath." She demanded, without any extra nonsense, and everyone did just as she asked, Hypnos and Hachiman also had their interest piqued by the birth of the Godslayer.

"I used some of my god essence of creation and added random mixtures of lesser god essences. He is without a father, born a substance-like being before becoming humanoid." She replied. An essence, or root of a god, was their very being, a part of their soul and power. "My child's divinities are luck, swordsmanship, lesser misjudgment, and very minor trickery, while my essence was used to create him, so he is without it." Chaos had a look of realization when it had heard 'misjudgment.'

She let out a small chuckle, murmuring just low enough so that no else could hear with a slight unnoticeable smile, "though I would say he is quite terrible at the art of manipulation because of his domain of misjudgment affecting his way of thinking... though his divinity of misjudgment, unfortunately, makes choosing options troublesome too..." Then she lightly shook her head to take away her thoughts, and the mood in the atmosphere had unconsciously become more lighthearted. "Nevermind that, Chaos-sama, why isn't he in the underworld?" She asked, her voice had an air of hope.

"Before that Izanami, why did you birth him, why did you leave him alone as a child and why didn't you tell anyone?" Hachiman probed. Though he was a god of war, or more specifically, a god of warriors, he was also the divine protector of the Japanese people - which Yasuo is technically Japanese-born, and that is what had warranted Hachiman's concern of the Godslayer. Hachiman was aiming to learn more about Yasuo, as the son - possibly the last child - of Izanami is not dead according to herself, helping the Godslayer would grant him Izanami's favor - perhaps if he gave the Godslayer his blessing.

Izanami's aura slightly flared, but she calmed and merely glared at him before again looking back towards Chaos, replying, "That is none of your concern, Hachiman." She evenly replied without glancing towards him, almost as if she was disregarding his presence. "Chaos-sama, please explain."

"The Godslayer has reincarnated back in time, into the past." Chaos responded. "In an era before the Age of Gods, the son of Izanami has been born to humans that were self-created and self-evolved without the assistance of gods or primordials. More precisely, a time right before the Golden Age where gods had not yet the power to form." Everyone's eyes widened in shock, mouths hanging wide open.

"He had obtained three wishes, a choice of where to go back in time, and the 'Ancient Manipulator' created from the [Akastic Records], he was granted the highest 'level' reincarnation. It was personally authorized by the lesser reincarnation goddess Vyra, or the other title she is more known as, the missing True Dragon of Existence and Dragon of Beginning, Vyrafall. A being on equal footing with the Great Red, perhaps even surpass it..."

Everyone's eyes widened even further by the mention regarding the Dragon of Beginning. There was not much known about the True Dragon, but it was common knowledge that she had enough power to destroy Earth, recreate it with everything it had before, and repeat. And, while they were interested in the Dragon of Beginning, they had not the same for the 'Ancient Manipulator.' They could care less about it.

The thing was practically useless - to most gods at least, as they are already powerful and don't require the assistance of the [Akastic Records] to increase their power. It would only do so much, as a god's powers fed on religion, worship, and belief, even though the Ancient Manipulator's potential was virtually limitless. Other than that though, there was also the matter of pride for the gods, some merely saw the system as a machine, and due to that, they thought it was not worth their time or effort - unless it had a mortal host that was either hardworking, talented, or lucky enough to accomplish whichever the system asks of the host. Fortunately for Yasuo though, he fits right in that bill.

"The Dragon of Beginning has reincarnated with the Godslayer," Chaos began once again, earning more shocked faces and now light gasps, "due to one of the Godslayer's wishes." This new piece of information had gotten the gods and goddess confused, why would Yasuo do this? Was he acquainted with the True Dragon? Or was the wish just made on a whim? Or maybe, just maybe, he was forced to use it by someone or even something - who knows the real reason, most likely no one but Yasuo himself.

"His other wish was to obtain a mask with all possible blessings." Chaos continued, gaining even more confusion from the others. Why did he wish for that? What is he going to do with the mask? There were too many questions and no explanations!

"And finally, the Godslayer had wished for immortality, but as this is not plausible, he had only received partial-immortality, an everlasting lifespan." None of the gods thought much about this, except that it was virtually a useless wish. The Godslayer was already a partial-immortal due to Izanami's and the other arbitrary divine essences, and slaying a god would likewise give one eternal life; Yasuo had done both.

"How is he now?" Izanami asked, her voice now much more friendly and gentle than since. Chaos replied smoothly, "Izanami-sama, I was about to say before you had interrupted me." In return, Izanami nodded, taking no offense to Chaos' rather blunt response.

"He has become a full-blooded demon, and not a mere devil, as well as not a human nor a reincarnated devil. Though for some odd reason, the [Akastic Records] reports the Godslayer as a devil..." It had murmured the last sentence. While Hachiman and a half-drowsy Hypnos were ever so slightly shaking in fear thinking of just how powerful a full-blooded demon would be, Izanami didn't particularly care about the 'demon' part, just the thought of her child becoming stronger and stronger made her happy.

"He had received the Phenex bloodline," Chaos sighed, "with an absurd amount of purity in blood at that, making him the technical heir to the Phenex Clan." Chaos then muttered low enough for none else to hear, "The pureness of it might even be greater than the original Phenex's..."

The Phenex Clan, one of the 33 Devil Clans of the 72 Pillars who now holds the rank of Marquis. The Phenex were well-known for their immortality, having regenerative abilities that were able to restore lost limbs depending on their Demonic Energy. They are also capable of pyrokinesis - the ability to generate and manipulate fire - as well as aerokinesis - the ability to control wind.

Now, imagine all of the previously mentioned abilities, amplified to multitudes, and one gets a demon Phenex; they would nearly become a true immortal, as their regeneration would make them unkillable plus the natural lifespan of devils - not to mention demon - was almost neverending. Merely thinking about the immortality of the Phenex made every one of the gods present tremble in fright, and such is without even considering the power of the Phenex's main strength, fire.

"The son of Izanami had become a Death God, and for free if I may add. My hypothesis in this is that either Izanami-sama had accidentally included her essence of death upon creating him or with the 'random' roots implanted into the Godslayer, there had been an essence of death - though this is just a mere theory, and Izanami-sama doesn't seem to know how either."

Izanami then smiled, feeling an intense pride course through her mind - not only was her child powerful to an extreme extent, he too was a Death God! Then an idea popped into her thoughts. "Chaos-sama, can you create a projection of my child?" She suddenly asked, wanting to know just how much her Yasuo had grown.

In response, Chaos smirked. "Can I, Izanami-sama? Yes, I very well can, Izanami-sama." Chaos replied as seconds passed and an awkward silence began to encompass the group. '...did Chaos-sama just make a joke?' Everyone thought, while their mouths were once again hanging wide open in shock and bewilderment.

Seconds, minutes had passed before the uncomfortable silence was broken by Chaos: "Cough. Cough. A-anyways, before I do that Izanami-sama, I was going to say that the Ancient Manipulator had somehow augmented the essence of death and made it absurdly more powerful. If the Godslayer comprehends even just 50%, he would easily surpass all other Death Gods, and by 100%, he would reach the level of Death-sama, only without Death-sama's restrictions and thus, technically more powerful. May I also mention again, the AM's limitless potential?"

As Chaos closed its explanation, Izanami merely nodded, seemingly having not paid any attention to Chao's comment at all, while the other two gulped down a large sum of saliva. A being as powerful as Death while not having any of its limitations of interfering with mortals plus being able to become even stronger than that, frighten them, considerably.

Chaos lightly sighed before lifting its hand facing towards the center of the table. Opening its palm and with a small application of its power, it created a projection of Yasuo. The figure was now standing on top of the table - which was thankfully strong enough from the weight of the body; if it even had a mass that is.

The model of the Godslayer was made three-dimensional, looked real, as well as felt real. Chaos made sure of it, as it knew that Izanami would love that. Chaos was familiar enough with Izanami - just like it was familiar 'enough' with pretty much everyone with divinity or power for better or worse - to make that claim.

The copy of Yasuo seemed to come to life. Its skin, previously pale, gained color, though now it was a healthy-pale. It opened its eyes, crimson-red. A blank expression remained on its face, looking towards the void, its red orbs showing no light or reflection.

It enrobed a pure midnight-black kimono and a stainless white obi. While its left-hand was laying casually, yet motionlessly on a black, star-patterned hilt of an equally black sheath of a katana-shaped sword, which was held by the earlier mentioned obi.

The face of the Godslayer was almost identical to Izanami's, merely male and very young, its height spanning a total of four feet. Though the 'normal' height of a ten-year-old in the 'present' was an average of four feet and six inches, four feet for a child of the age of ten would be considered average - perhaps even above average - in the 'early ages' of humanity.

Speaking of the goddess, soon after the avatar of Yasuo shaped, Izanami had almost immediately jumped up toward Yasuo, in her now-childish 8-year-old form. She preferred it over her other appearances because, oddly enough, it gave her a sense of normality. People would look at her - unless the individual practiced pedophilia - without lust or aversion, treating her as if she was a 'normal' person, and she cherished such.

"I've overlooked to mention this, but due to having the having the highest 'rank' of rebirth, he was able to 'recreate' his physique using the [Character Creation Sheet]." Chaos began, stating the last part with a distinct amount of pride in its voice. It was the inventor of the self-proclaimed grand masterpiece after all. "But it seems that the Godslayer had chosen to retain his original appearance... though I just believe that he had done so because he was used to it..."

Tears. Tears began to shed, falling down Izanami's beautifully soft face. She didn't hear what Chas had said after 'original appearance.' She was already breaking down hearing that her child had kept his original form. A form that by a single look, one could tell she and Yasuo were related...

"And the Godslayer's original appearance coincidentally looks like the male version of Izanami-sama." Chaos finished.

"Oh. So that's why he looks like a vampire." Hypnos languidly commented.
