By the time the driver dropped off Liu Rachael at the mansion of Duan Chengyu, little did she know that the big house was going to be only her in there, because the Chairman of Cinopec Group called ahead to have the house cleared for her arrival.
"Chairman Duan would be home at 8 pm and he wants his meals ready before then. Make sure to have your phone with you, as either of us might call ahead to let you know that we are on the way."
"Thank you Mr Lan, I will make sure the everywhere is tidy before Chairman Duan comes, his food would be made on time."
Liu Rachael and the driver of Chairman Duan bade each other goodbye before leaving the mansion to head back to Cinopec Group to give Chairman Duan his report on his new helper.
When she saw that it was only her all alone in the huge house, Liu Rachael felt terrified, but also excited to be in such a breathtaking building, it was like a dream to the young woman. To be sure that it was all real, she had to hit herself hard on the cheek.
"Ouch!!!!!!"
That seem to hurt, as her eyes watered from the sting of the slap to her face.
"It's really real! I'm in Chairman Duan's mansion! HAAAAAA!!!!!!!"
She kept looking around her at the portraits on the walls and painting from different artists, several works of arts lay in several parts of the house, as she kept moving from room to room, up and down the stairs. The kitchen was the last place she checked, it was like being in a showroom, everything was glimmered from the knives in their holders to the pans that was suspended from a section in the kitchen wall. The marble floor sparkled such that Liu Rachael felt the urge to seat on them and eat from there.
"Are you crazy! That is the floor of his kitchen! I'm really out of it, I need to get myself together!"
As though she was being chased by someone, Liu Rachael ran out of the kitchen, wanting to shake away the crazy thoughts that had taken over her mind. After going through several areas in the mansion, only then did she sit down to think of what to cook for Chairman Duan.
"Oh no! It's already 3:45 pm!"
Liu Rachael could not believe how much time had passed, in roughly four hours the Chairman of Cinopec group would be back from work and she hadn't even began cleaning his house or cooking his food.
"I don't want to get fired on my first day!"
As though possessed, she flew into the kitchen, going through several shelves and the fridge to get started on the dishes she had in mind.

"Chairman Duan, do we need to call Miss Liu that you are on your way?!"
"No need to call her, I want to see the look in her eyes when I walk through the doors."
Through the rear view mirror Mr Lan could see the mischief that danced through the eyes of his boss, he had worked for the Chairman for five years now and not once had he seen him display that side of himself to others.
"Alright Sir!"
Mr Lan drove through the light traffic towards the home of Duan Chengyu, as the other looked through the screen of his phone from the backseat.

Liu Rachael had a white apron on and a cap while moving through the kitchen, stirring the pot of vegetables on one side of the electric cooker and also keeping an eye on the other three pots where rice was steaming in one, the last two had an assortment of sea food in them. Not long after, Liu Rachael heard the sound of the door opening.
"Is he here already?! But it's not even 8 yet!"
Running out of the kitchen to see if it really was Chairman Duan, and surprising it was actually him, walking through the front door.
"G..Good...evening Chairman Duan!"
It was evident from her voice that his unannounced visit to his home, rattled his new helper.
"I thought you were expecting me already? Or didn't Mr Lan call to let you know that I was on the way?"
Duan Chengyu feigned surprise, when he saw how Liu Rachael reacted to see him at home, he saw that she bought the smooth lie he told her, from the way she looked apologetically at him.
"I'm sorry Chairman Duan, but I don't think he called or maybe he did and I didn't hear when my phone rang...."
She didn't get to finish what she was saying as a shrill sound came from somewhere in the living room. Liu Rachael walked past Duan Chengyu to pull out the phone from a deep blue crossbody bag, on the caller screen was "Sweetheart" the the heart sign by the side.
"He..Hello..."
"Rachael! Where are you? I'm in front of your apartment! Are you still at work?"
"Hmm..I'm..."
"Miss Liu, who are you speaking with?"
Duan Shengyu stood behind Liu Rachael, therefore he could hear the male voice on the other end.
"Shush!"
In a bid to stop her chairman from interrupting the conversation with her boyfriend, unfortunately the other had picked up on the voice of Duan Shengyu.
"Are you with another man?! I'm I correct to assume that you are not at the office?! Are you cheating on me?!!!!!"
"No! It's not what you think, I'm somewhere."
"Does the somewhere have a name?!"

Liu Rachael turned around and screamed at Duan Chengyu for leading to her breakup with her supposed boyfriend Tian Min. She was so upset, that she snatched her bag from where it was on the couch and was about to bolt out the house, when she suddenly felt a vice-like grip on her wrist.
"If you walk out that door! Not only would you have lost your boyfriend, but you would also be out of a job!"
It was like been thrown a bucket of ice on, that seem to snap her back to the reality of her current situation.
"What is the possibility that if I go back and ask him to forgive me, would he truly accept me back, even if I did nothing wrong? Applying for another job would take so long to get, my rent is almost due!"
After a moment of pondering on whether to stay in the home of Chairman Duan, Liu Rachael eventually gave in to his suggestion.
"I'll stay as your helper."

It was like been thrown a bucket of ice on, that seem to snap her back to the reality of her current situation.
"What is the possibility that if I go back and ask him to forgive me, would he truly accept me back, even if I did nothing wrong? Applying for another job would take so long to get, my rent is almost due!"
After a moment of pondering on whether to stay in the home of Chairman Duan, Liu Rachael eventually gave in to his suggestion.
"I'll stay as your helper."
