Zhang Mi, remained locked up in her room, none of her staff dared to bother the aggrieved young miss. Quietly they continued to carry out their duty as usual.
On Monday morning, the Zhang villa had a visitor, who came bearing ominous tidings. This was none other than the lawyer for the Zhang cooperation, Zhou Yunxiang. He was a middle aged man of average built dressed in corporate black and wore rimmed glasses on, in his left hand was a dark leather briefcase , carrying on him an air of great importance. One of the butlers by the main entrance was the one that welcomed him into the extravagant living room. It was general knowledge that, only those that was very close to Zhang Corporation could easily pass through the secured gates at the Zhang villa.
The man in question, turned around taking in the things he saw, almost as though he was trying to estimate their value. As though he had suddenly reached a conclusion regarding what he saw, that was when he then decided to take his seat on one of the tastefully designed black leather couch.
The butler stood by, waiting for the man to say the reason for the sudden visit. With fixed gaze, the visitor stared at the butler before speaking.
"Kindly, let Miss Zhang know that Zhou Yunxiang, will like to discuss some very important matter with her. I'm sure she would know who I am when you phrase it that way to her."
The butler curtsied before turning around to deliver the news to the Zhang heiress.
A firm knock at the door, sent a jarring pain straight to her head, Zhang Mi knew what it meant, the dreadful hangover was already presenting itself. She struggled to get up from the floor where she had passed out from getting drunk.
In an hoarse voice, the Zhang heiress asked who was by the door.
"Good morning young Miss Zhang, this is butler Hu, I'm sorry for having to wake you up but, a man named Zhou Yunxiang is here to see you, saying he has something important to discuss with you. He said you will be able to tell who he is."
A few seconds passed, as Zhang Mi was trying to clear the cobweb in her brain from all the drinks she had gone through, she didn't have anything to eat except the drinks she brought from the wine cellar. Right now, her stomach was hurting like hell. As though it suddenly struck her about the intense burning pain in her belly, she gave a loud sharp cry.
"Are you okay? Young Miss Zhang?!"
The seemingly concerned tone of her butler forced her to reply by saying, "Its nothing, just haven't had anything to eat. Tell Mr Zhou, that I just need to freshen up and afterwards I will be right there."
The butler went on to pass the message from the young miss to the man waiting downstairs in the living room.
Not long after, Zhang Mi hurriedly brushed her teeth, dashing quickly from closet to closet, rummaging through her belongings to get dressed. Not having sufficient time for a bath, she put on a baggy white gown and sprayed her signature perfume on her wrists, behind her ears and both sides of her neck. She scrambled to run the comb through her messy hair, slapping on makeup as she looked through a jewelry box to select a dangling dazzling silver tassel earring, attaching them on both earlobes. Her feet slid quickly through a comfy house-shoe.
Taking one final look at her reflection, before leaving her room to head in the direction of the living room.
When the visitor saw her, he rose up quickly from where he sat, curtsying to her, he didn't seat until he saw she was seated.
"Mr Zhou, could you tell me why you suddenly decided to show up at my house, without prior notice?!"
Although her voice sounded calm, Zhang Mi knew in the deepest part of her mind that the only reason why a lawyer, and not just any lawyer, but one from Zhang Corporation, could only mean that he was here to either take something or give something to her, neither of the options that crossed her mind appealed to her whatsoever. She knew her present situation was not looking so good therefore, she was preparing herself to hear what he had for her, whether good or bad.
"I'm sorry for barging into your home Miss Zhang, but pressing matters at Zhang Corporation has brought me to your doorstep. Since you are no longer the majority shareholder, because you were voted out and will have to give up your shares according to company rules. This brings me to the main reason for coming here, your assets will be frozen within 30 days, you may have to vacate where you are and look for accommodation elsewhere. Here are the documents that you will need to sign pertaining to what I've said. Please feel free to ask any questions."
Although, Zhou Yunxiang tried to deliver the bad news as gently as he could, nothing prepared him for what was to come next. All the while Zhang Mi heard the Zhang Corporation lawyer speak, a lot of what he said did not register yet to her brain. Inwardly, she was seething with mad rage, not knowing what had come over her, she got up from where she sat from across the lawyer, it was as though she had lost control over her hand. She landed a hard resounding slap to his face.
"You! Are you even human at all!"
Zhang Mi, angrily spat those words at the man, both hands shook with fury, his face showed shock from seeing someone he thought was too refined, was acting in such manner.
