Just as Devil Face said, they saw the clearing in the jungle once they got closer and Wuxing aimed to fit inside of it, landing perfectly on the overgrown grass. Unfortunately, they were not the only ones who thought of the same tactic as them.

Dongmei landed right next to him but behind her, two other people were preparing to land. Despite jumping off the plane last, Wuxing team landed first because they increased they falling speed by swiftly turning their parachutes down in the last couple hundred betters.

Wuxing acted immediately as soon as their feet touched the ground.

"Hide behind the trees!" he called out to Scarlet as he unbuckled them from the parachute and pushed her to the side with two backpacks on her.

Dongmei happened to trip during her landing so he dash up to her, helping her stand up and drop her inventory for easier fighting.

"Here, take this," he said as he passed her the knife he took out of her bag.

"What about you?" she asked, gripping the knife.

"I don't need it." Wuxing replied simply. He wanted to test out his abilities in the real dangerous scenario and the selection with no one to spy on him was perfect.

Thud. Thud.

Two people dropped to the ground, cutting their parachutes lines with similar knives they took out mid-air. One was a young women and another was a men, similarly young with a sharp and cold gaze. They immediately attacked without hesitation. Their plan to kill them was obvious.

"I will take her!" Dongmei chose the short-haired women, confidence beaming from her and Wuxing agreed by rushing at the guy. It was best to split them up.

Bone tissue partially covered both his arms and hands underneath his black jacket as the men finally struck, aiming at his hands. Wuxing didn't have a weapon so by injuring his hands or wrists, the fight would be over.

Too bad, he didn't know it was the worse and last mistake of his life.

The man pierced at Wuxing's left hand yet Wuying treated his hands as his blades as well and cut from the side at the incoming knife. With the momentum he had, he struck with right hook at the enemy's biggest uncovered target which was his side that a small backpack couldn't cover.

Crack!

A bone-cracking sound reached their ears as the hammer-like fist landed on the man's body, his ribs fractured from one hit.

"Ugh!" the man grunted from pain, immediately attacking once again despite the pain yet Wuxing caught his blade bare-handed before kicking him away.

The blade he desperately gripped slid on Wuxing's palm as he dropped to the ground but to his surprise, there was no blood dripping from it. Wuxing's palm felt as if slicing against hard wall.

Wuxing didn't give him time to think as instead of rushing to kill him while he was down, Wuxing turned to the side and dash to help Dongmei who was still exchanging strikes, neither of the ladies having an advantage.

"Monic!" the man called out in panic to warn his partner but the moment she turned to defend against Wuxing, Dongmei took this opportunity to slit her throat.

"Come on, she was mine…" Dongmei complained, kicking the girl on the ground who covered her neck to stop bleeding.

Wuxing could only shrug, not willing to risk her getting hurt.

"Let's take him down and move before we are spotted by anyone else," Wuxing told her as he walked up to the man, leaving Monic to bleed out on her own.

"If only you weren't so rush to kill us, maybe you would life another day. It's a shame but you won't," Wuxing said to the young man, smiling at him from two meters away.

"Fuck you!" the man cursed and spat at him in response while aiming his knife up which didn't influence Wuxing whatsoever.

'Did you find the first guy who crashed around this area?' Wuxing asked in his mind, trying to plan his next steps.

'Yeah, he fell down from the trees and probably strained his ankle. He is slowly bandaging it in the bushes around seventy meters north. There is no one else around in the three hundred meter radius so you can take your time,' Devil Face replied, already focused on scanning the surrounding area.

Knowing he still had a bit of time, he decided to teach Scarlet a lesson she has to learn soon anyway. "Scarlet, come here!" he called out in the direction of the trees where she hid and Scarlet peeked hesitantly.

"They are already taken out, don't worry," Dongmei assured her, giving Scarlet courage to run up to them. Seeing blood squirting out of the young girl's throat with each heartbeat made her pale but she didn't scream.

She could see the start of the battle where the two attacked them which made her blood boil. She still didn't understand why would anyone kill this easily.

"You are a bad man!" she scolded the young man, glaring at him.

"Hahaha— ugh! You brought a kid to the selection! You guys are insane!" the man burst out laughing which bought him horrible pain. The broken ribs hit his organs each time he spoke.

He knew that he will die soon so he didn't care about it, still trying to poke fun of them. His partner was dying so he had nothing left anymore.

Wuxing glanced at Dongmei and without saying anything, they both moved and quickly overpowered the man who kicked and chopped, trying to deal as much damage as possible.

To his surprise, they didn't kill him right away, only immobilizing him while tying his hands behind his back with the lines they cut from the parachute.

"Just kill me," the young man pleaded, thinking they are going to leave him there. It was better to have a quick death than die from starvation or worse, get eaten alive by animals.

He was already hurt all over from the last desperate fight and most of his bones were broken. He didn't have any hope for survival anymore.

"Scarlet, what do you think? Should we kill him?" Wuxing asked Scarlet who was standing on the side, watching everything happening.

She thought for a moment before nodding, hating the man. She wasn't dumb. She now understood what the bloody mess did she signed up for.

"Why?" Wuxing asked again, making her look at him with questioning gaze.

"Why do you want to kill him?" He clarified.

"Because he wanted to kill us first…" she said the first thing that came to her mind.

"Alright," Wuxing nodded with a smile and came up to her, helping her take off the backpacks she still carried before giving her the knife in her hand. "Here."

"Huh? What do you want me to do?" She asked confused, feeling the metal handle of the knife.

"We want you to kill him," Dongmei explained for Wuxing. "If you don't, we will leave him here so he could slowly die."

Scarlet froze, not expecting she would be the one to do it. Dongmei predicted that would happen so she approached her from behind and lead her other hand to the handle of the blade, aiming it right at the place where the heart was.

"You just need to pierce the blade as hard as you can and it will kill him," Dongmei added as she let go of Scarlet's hands. She couldn't help her this time.

Dongmei understand why Wuxing was doing this and she supported him fully. This wasn't a place for weak but for killers. Scarlet needed to learn how to kill sooner or later.

"Do it!" the man called out to Scarlet, knowing he was used as the training tool for the newbie, but he didn't mind, wanting to end his suffering. "Push it! Kill me!"

Scarlet stared at the man's painful eyes and as much as she wanted him dead, she couldn't move her hands. "I can't do it…" she muttered, her hands shaking.

"I guess you are out of luck buddy. Let's hope there no predatory animals live on this island," Wuxing said with pity in his voice, walking away to grab the bags.

The man realized they weren't joking and didn't wait anymore, taking the matter into his own hands. Or rather, chest.

Just as Scarlet wanted to pull away the knife, he pressed forward as hard as he could. The sharp blade easily pierced through his skin as well as the heart behind it, shocking Scarlet.

Out of panic, instead of letting go of the blade, Scarlet tried to pull out the blade which made the blood squirt out, splashing on her face. She instinctively stepped back while letting go of the blade, which hit the blade as the same time as the man's body.

Dongmei was right behind her and caught her, hugging her like a caring mother before turning her around, away from the ugly sight. "You did well Scarlet. He had to die. Don't think about it," she praised her while wiping the blood away from her face and hugged her once again.

"You did well…" Dongmei repeated as she received a tight hug back from Scarlet.
