Moonlight and Leto goes on full alert. I equipped one of the gloves and ready myself. We are already spotted and that is certain. In other words, sneaking didn't work.
"There is no reason to stay still. We have to deal with them as soon as possible!" I said to them.
After that, I pinpointed the people in the area. Although I can't attack them head-on, I can defeat them in a sneaky confrontation. As soon as I pinpointed all of the locations of the people, I clap my hands together before slamming my palms to the ground.
"Forestry Control!"
Since I am still using Mana Sense, I can see if my sneak attacks are successful or not. One of the guys rushing towards our direction is still running towards us but when he stepped on something, a huge vine with sharp pointy tip pierced his feet, straight to his guts. He didn't even get a chance to scream when the vine pierced him to death. The others are also meet with unsuspecting death due to my sneak attack.
Moonlight looked at me in astonishment. "You can now control the Forestry Control properly?"
"No, it is still one of the basics. I managed to practice when I fought against the mermaid that I talked earlier so I am a bit well versed on how to do things. But I can't do the most complicated versions of this one and it cost me a lot of mana that is why I am limiting my strike into a single one in one go so that the mana released is not that many."
"Did you defeated most of the guys coming for us?" Leto asked.
"Yes. I have dealt with them. They did not expect me to be able to deal damage in just a small amount of time without approaching them."
"That is good. Now, let us go forth and sneak inside. We would be in total war later on," Moonlight said.
Leto approached the wall. At first, we thought that the wall is made of bricks and stones but we realized that they were just made of wood with a bit of coloration similar to rocks.
"We are fooled. This is not something made of rock. This wall is made of wood," Leto said as she caresses the wall's exterior.
"Should we burn it?" Moonlight asked.
"Hey, we are tasked to infiltrate the elven camp, not wreak havoc on it. Have you forgotten?" I asked Moonlight.
"Ah, I was so occupied with destroying this place that I forgot about the plan that Miya proposed earlier."
I looked at Moonlight with a frown. She seemed brutal today for some reason.
"I can make this wall be manipulated for us to use since it is made of wood. Dryads can control and modify anything that is related to Nature so this wall is nothing to me." Leto said.
"Then let's get into it and modify the wall as soon as possible."
Leto nodded and touched the wall. She seemed to be pushing but she did not push the wall at all. She is just concentrating on changing the structure of the wall. At first, the wall has no changes but it didn't take too long before the grey wall started to form. It shook a bit but from the looks of it, Leto had done something so that the shaking is reduced. It didn't take too long before a set of ladder-shaped formation on the wall appeared.
"Let's get going!" Moonlight said.
As a gentleman, I decided to climb up first. It would be a bit indecent if I climbed up the ladder while staring at their asses. It would be a bad thing and they might label me as a pervert even if I did not even intentionally do it. After a few minutes of climbing, we arrived at the very top of the wall. I was amazed to see that the tents earlier that I have seen is just a small part of the elven camp. The whole camp is equivalent to a small town already. Lights from torches and bonfires lit up the place. People are still walking here and there.
"Such a lively place... only filled with darkness on the area after the beliefs of their tribal chief..." Moonlight muttered as she stares at the people walking about on the area.
"We had to end the dark dream of the chief before everything is destroyed," I said.
"I will be helping as much as possible. If I can protect my home from the darkness, I would give aid to this mission of yours," Leto agreed so.
I scanned the area for anything unusual. And as soon as I used Mana Sense, my whole being shivered. A large amount of darkness is currently slumbering in this place alone. This is by the heaviest dark power I have felt ever since I got the ability to scan mana and darkness. I grip my chest because I almost felt my whole being suffocating from the feeling. It was rather too much for me who just activated the ability. As soon as I canceled the activation of my skill, I heaved a sigh in relief and gasped in air.'
"You alright Kazuma?" Moonlight asked.
"F*ck, this place is much more sinister than what it looks. It's hiding a tremendous aura of a demonic presence. I have never felt so nauseous like this before."
"This place is hiding something? Something that would cause things to get dangerous for us?" Leto asked.
"It's much more dangerous than what it seems. I don't know why but I feel weak just by feeling its aura. A monster that is giving off a demonic aura that even me would never be able to handle that much darkness."
Moonlight looked alarmed. She fetched off her phone but I quickly stopped her.
"Stop Moonlight. Unlike us, Catmod and the others are in a much harder state because they already infiltrated the place. We can't disturb their operation and if you call right now, it might disrupt the sneaky way in for them," I said to her.
Moonlight quickly stopped typing on her phone. "You are right, they are in a much more dangerous situation than us. But if we can lessen the amount of power the monster got, we might be able to weaken the darkness.
'Weakening the darkness...?'
Then, I was hit with the answer. Is that going to be the solution? I don't know much and even though I personally witnessed it, I don't think it's not impossible at all.
"Are you saying that... we have to do THAT?"
