In anime and novels, familiars tend to bring trouble to you which is my main concern. Indeed, just from the word "Kitsune", I can perceive that its not a literal fox but the yokai version of foxes which would be the Fox Spirits hence called Kitsune.
"Indeed, its a Kitsune. But this one is a special case. It is a newborn summoned fox and still hasn't got the wild side a normal wild Kitsune has. You have a higher chance to tame it according to your whim," Volta checked the Kitsune and tried to approached it but he was attacked and got squirted with water.

"There are two kinds of Kitsune, the Zenko(2) and Yako(3). The Zenko is a fox spirit that embodies the kind version of Kitsunes while the latter, Yako is mischievous and most of them are being summoned by people with malicious intents. Since it is a Zenko fox, it means you are a good person. What is more, this Kitsune is a Water Type although it uses the sea water rather than the River Water. If it used the River Water, this Kitsune is a Zenko Kawa," Volta said as he stare at cute brown little fox.
Soon, a small ball appeared out of nowhere from the small fox and when it appeared, the little fox began playing with it. The ball is not an ordinary one since it has a glowing white-gold color.
"The ball that this Kitsune is playing is its Star Ball. Their powers are usually stored inside this ball and if you try to steal it, you can control them but their likability to you would plummet and you will be faced with dire consequences once they retrieve it," Volta explained again. Somehow, I wonder if Volta is a walking Bestiary or something due to his knowledge.
I slowly approach the fox slowly. The fox quickly hid the Star Ball and looked at me with curiosity. All of a sudden, the fox leap from its spot towards me in which I quickly caught it on my arms. Up close, it was really cute and I want to cuddle it in my sleep.
"Ha, that should be the work of the blood you dropped earlier. But it should still be wary of its master instead of becoming close to you immediately. Look at my Raiju(4) for example, it took me one week before it eventually got closed enough for me that we are basically inseparable," Volta sighed.
"Raiju?" I looked at him quizzically.
"Right, I have not introduced you to my familiar didn't it? I didn't need my familiar's help earlier when we fought against that crab monster. Inazuma(5)!"
With that call, his familiar appeared. Its pretty small and looks like a puppy but its aura of mana is pretty thick which means its very strong.
"Why is it smaller than my familiar?" I asked Volta.

"Inazuma take initiative to get smaller for your house's sake. If it turns into its original form, the house will be demolished and you are left homeless. You want that?" Volta raised his eyebrow again and again.

"They do eat. They can eat normal food but Kitsunes eat magic essences more than food. For your Kitsune, water magic essence are more nutritious for them," Volta said then he looked at his watch.
"Damn, its already evening, lets just do the training tomorrow Kazuma, I still have an anime to watch," Volta said to me.
"You can watch on my television on the living room," I suggested Volta.
"Nah, no thanks, I want HD, your television is an old version, you need to buy new one, so that I don't need to watch back home," Volta said before disappearing without trace, leaving only static stuff on the floor.
