Half an hour later Annie and Sam were sitting in his car heading downtown. Annie had came back from her room dressed beautifully so Sam felt like his outfit wasn't appropriate for a date
'Should I leave the photos for another time ?'
"Hey Annie, let's go back home for a minute. This outfit isn't suitable for a date."
"I don't mind, you look handsome in anything."
"Let's go anyway."
Very soon they arrived at Sam's apartment, he opened the door and guided Annie to the living room, she kept looking around and analyzing the place before she looked at him and said
"This is your apartment ? It's too small, come and live with us, you already know we have a lot of free rooms."
"Don't worry about me, I'm comfortable here. I lived in this small place with my parents, I can't leave it."
"But..."
She looked at him pitifully, he started doing money only recently so he didn't have time to buy much things for his apartment, the TV in front of the couch was at least 7 or 8 years old, the couch looked even older.
"Don't worry about small things, we've lived here for a really long time with Em so we love this place, when I'll make enough money I'll buy the building and renovate it."
"How fast do you expect to make that money ? Even if you become popular now you still need a long time to be a worldwide class singer... come and live with us until then."
"Sorry Annie, I really don't feel like leaving this place yet."
He said while sitting next to her, she looked at him for awhile and sighed, after awhile she smiled
"I get it, let's not lose time. Go dress up and let us go on our date."
She said while pushing him away from the couch.
In his room he opened his closet and browsed through it, he just picked a casual but classy outfit, a white shirt with black pants and white adidas shoes.
He arranged his hair and headed to the living room where Annie had turned on the TV.
"Let's go ?"
She turned around to look at him, analyzed his style and nodded.
"I definitely like this more, let's go."

That evening they went to watch a movie, ate delicious food and took a walk in a beautiful park under the moonlight and the countless stars that couldn't be seen clearly because of the light pollution, sometime during their walk in the dark park they saw a silhouette sitting on a bench not far from them, they could hear sobbing sound from where they were.
Annie grabbed Sam's arm and whispered
"It can't be a ghost right ? Some people say that a ghost will appear here at midnight during the full moon and kill the couples... "
"Who told you this ?"
"I've just invented it, I thought you'd be scared hahah."
"Am I a kid for you ? Who believe in ghosts in this age..."
When he said that the wailing became stronger for a second, both of them were startled and tried to hide behind one another.
"Who believe in ghosts huh ? Hahah"
She looked at him smugly, she was also scared by the sudden burst but she hadn't been boasting like him a second ago.
"Hmm.. anyway let's see if that person is alright."
He cleared his throat and tried to avoid the subject, indeed he was still a bit scared of ghosts...
They walked a few steps and arrived in front of the crying person, the first one to talk was Annie
"Excuse me, is everything alright ?"
Crying alone at night in a dark park wasn't a really good idea, especially since she was a girl, they could guess it from her voice but they had confirmed it after seeing her up close, they couldn't see what she looked like yet as she was looking down and her palms were holding her face but Sam had a feeling of familiarity with that silhouette.
"I'm alright you can go."
She said with a trembling voice, hearing it Sam finally understood why he had that feeling.
"Sophia ?"
Hearing her name and the familiar voice she finally lifted her head and looked at him, she couldn't help but glare at him.
"Leave ! I don't want to see your face !"
He didn't understand, why was he the one being yelled at ? She was the one that threw him...
"Are you drunk ?"
Seeing her in this state he guessed she must have drank quite a lot.
"I'm not ! I only drank a few beers..."
Finally Annie that was left aside couldn't take it, she pinched his arm and asked him with a frown
"How do you know her ?"
"She's my childhood friend and my ex girlfriend, she left me for Eric that you already know."
She looked at him, then at Sophia and thought
'They definitely do a great couple... wait no ! He's mine now ! She's only a ex that missed her chance!'
"What are you doing here ?"
He asked, even after all she did to him he didn't want to leave her in a dangerous place alone and drunk, he didn't hate her, he just thought her way of thinking was disgusting.
"Why do you even care ?! Just leave already I want to be alone !"
She said pretty loudly, hearing that he thought of just leaving her. Why did he have to try to help her and even get yelled at after all she did to him but right then they heard
"What's this ruckus, can't we drink in the calm now ?!"
A group of five or six adolescents came out from behind a tree, following them were two girls holding a beer bottle each.
"Mind your own business !"
Said Sophia while standing up shakily.
'She definitely didn't change, always a trouble maker.'
"Sorry about this, please go back to your stuff."
Sam said, he didn't want to have a fight during his date with Annie, she already looked intimidated and came to stand closer to him.
"Yo those are some beautiful girls you have with you, how about sharing them with us ?"
Sam looked at the two girls walking behind them and saw that they looked intimidated while looking at the guys, these girls probably weren't with them from their own volition. It was only his guess but he had to make sure, he just had to imagine this happening to Annie to decide to help them.
"Are you girls okay ?"
He asked and the six guys turned around to look at the girls, right away the two girls lowered their heads and didn't look back up until the guys turned around again to look at Sam.
He was sure now that they were forced to stay with them, he walked a few steps in front of Annie and Sophia while looking at the guy that was at the front. They did it unconsciously but he guessed that must be their leader, minions had tendency to stand behind their boss even without realizing it and that's what happened here. If he was attacked, he would focus that guy to make them lose their fighting intent.
"What if I refuse to give them ?"
"Hahah do you think you have the choice ?"
He was thinking of a way to beat the six guys while protecting the girls when a voice came from behind him
"Sam ! Long time no see !"
He looked back for a second and saw it was Eric, he looked to the front again to avoid being attacked while he wasn't looking.

"I heard Sophia yelling I came back to check on her."
