Gianna found herself some meters away from the gates of League Elite, a residential area where most of the wealthiest and influential families reside. Today was her first day as Huang Xur's personal assistant. She was asked to report at 9 am. But Gianna had other plans such as observing and getting familiar with the vicinity, so she purposely went there at an earlier time. Gianna had to cover her tracks to eliminate being suspected by her temporary employer. Instead of showing up in a motorcycle, she decided to park her vehicle in a well hidden and secured distance and walked her way back to the area. After a few minutes of walking, Gianna was now in front of the guard house. There were two guards on duty, both males. Wearing her brightest smile, she approached them and said, "Hi! My name is Gianna. I m Lady Xur's new assistant." Initially, the guards on duty were smitten by Gianna's mixed features that perfectly matched her long line bomber style jacket over her white pleated blouse paired with dark blue skinny jeans and high heels. However, the delightful look on their faces instantly vanished when they heard her mentioned Huang Xur. "What do you think? In my opinion, she'll quit after two weeks." The older guard told his partner. "Nah! That's too long. I think she'll resign after seven days." The younger guard retorted as if he was completely sure of what was about to happen. Though the guards were whispering among themselves, Gianna was still able to understand them through her excellent lip-reading skill. 'I can't believe they are betting whether I can last for a week or two as the wrench's personal assistant.' Gianna told herself as her eyes alternatively switched gaze between the older and the younger guard. Based on the guards' reaction, it seemed that Huang Xur's previous personal assistants gave up on her and quit the job. Well, can't blame them. Who would want that wrench as an employer, anyway? Of course, no one. However, her case was different and special. She was on a mission and her goal was to stay with Huang Xur to gather as much information as possible. Also, she was neither a pushover nor a newbie in playing along with people. She already danced with death many times in the past, that's why handling a vile person such as Huang Xur was just a piece of cake. "Did you think she heard us?" The older guard asked the younger one. "I hope not! She might report us to Lady Xur!" "I heard everything. But don't worry, I will keep my mouth shut and pretend nothing happened... Well, that is if you will agree in my condition." When Gianna saw an opportunity to manipulate them, she grabbed it without any hesitation. "Oi, do you think we can be easily threatened by someone as fragile looking as you? " The younger guard seemed to dislike Gianna's suggestion. "Looks can be deceiving though. Now, I wonder... Will Lady Xur believe in a pair of guards on duty or the assistant she hand-picked herself?" Gianna smiled widely at them as if she had already won the argument even before it started. "You're bluffing! You're just like everybody else. You were also hired by an agency." The younger guard was really stubborn. "Yeah! You are just trying to trick us." The older guard yelled. "Whew! Well, I hope you boys don't regret not heeding my warning. Anyway, I'll be leaving my ID here in exchange for a gate pass." Gianna didn't insist on creating a deal with the guards anymore for she was sure that they will ask for it themselves once they found out she told them the truth. "See? You already gave up. Here, take the gate pass and good luck!" The younger guard had a smug look on his face when he handed Gianna the gate pass. But Gianna didn't mind, she was confident enough that she had the last laugh.
