Soon after the man's lips landed on her lips, she suddenly felt her body quiver.
This man's scent, as well as the taste of his lips, carried too much nostalgia that she can't stop her tears from streaming down her face when her memories of him started to flood her head.
'Chenric...' Her heart whispered, but the whisper was too soft that it quickly drowned in her raging hatred.
She must not be fooled by this man again.
She must resist him.
She must end the kiss.
Strengthening her resolve, Wang Reiji gathered all her remaining energy to push Zhang Chenric away. As their lips got separated, she raised her right hand and slap the man's face
'Whack!'
The sound of the slap traveled across the hall and into Zhang Chenric's ears. Its impact was too strong that when Wang Reiji removed her hand from Zhang Chenric's face, his cheek was already red and swollen.
After slapping him, Wang Reiji then looked at Zhang Chenric's expression. She was hoping to see him hurt physically and emotionally. But much to her surprise, Zhang Chenric didn't look like he was hurt at all. Rather, he looked like he was actually expecting the slap from her.
"Don't tell me you were already satisfied with just one slap? Please, hit me as much as you want. Hit me until you feel better." Zhang Chenric said calmly while staring straight at Wang Reiji's crying face.
Wang Reiji let out a cold chuckle before wiping her eyes dry.
"Does this face look like it's satisfied with just a single slap? Haha, You must be seeing things! But to tell you honestly, even if I shred you into bits and pieces in this lifetime or a thousand more, IT WILL NEVER MAKE ME FEEL BETTER!" Fueled by anger, Wang Reiji yelled at Zhang Chenric before dashing her way toward the building's fire exit.
The calmness in Zhang Chenric was instantly replaced by a strong feeling of guilt and sadness the moment he realized the depth of Wang Reiji's hatred.
No amount of justification can ever pacify the hate he saw in those eyes. Even if he wanted to unsay things and take back words, it was too late. The damage had been done. And it was all his fault.
But should he let things end like this?
Wasn't he supposed to apologize and explain why he was late that day? That someone had intentionally cut off his father's life support which left him with no choice but to rush to the hospital instead of their meet up place?
While thinking about the events from that day, Zhang Chenric started touching his lips unconsciously. His eyes which were devoid of hope some time ago, suddenly became full of life and vigor.
"No matter how many times you slap me, I wont give up. I will wait until your heart is ready to listen. I know once you heard my explanation, everything will be alright."
He was about to enter his room when he noticed something on the ground. Curious, he picked the object up and brought it in.

Wang Yuvin was busy playing Reign of Violence when his plump niece casually entered his room carrying a basket of assorted snacks. Following the little girl was her pet cat, Misha.
"Master uncle! Yuhu! I brought some snacks. Let's have a picnic here in your room!" Europa then pulled Wang Yuvin's blanket down the carpeted floor.
"Sure, just give me 15 more minutes sweetie. I need to finish these quests first before the event resets." Wang Yuvin said without taking his eyes off the monitor.
"Hmm, okay! But don't complain when I finished eating all the snacks!" Europa then sat on top of the blanket.
"No worries, I'll just get some snacks downstairs." Wang Yuvin replied his eyes still fixed on the screen.
After few minutes or so, the room became quiet. Wang Yuvin then turned around to look at Europa.
The little girl was already sleeping peacefully whilst holding a wafer in her hand. Wang Yuvin can't help but laugh at his cute niece. He then took his phone out to take a picture of her.
As soon as he was satisfied with the number of photos he had taken, he then glanced at the clock. It was already 11 in the evening but his sister was not yet home.
Worried, he then dialed her number. Unfortunately, his sister was not answering the phone. He tried calling her again. Alas! His call was answered.
"Sis? Where are you? Your daughter had already fallen asleep here in my room."
"Sis? You are not her husband but her brother?"
Wang Yuvin's eyes almost fell out their sockets the moment he heard a male voice from the other line.
