Caleb was still in his thoughts when he sensed some warmth on his face now he looked towards the window, there was rays of sun seeping through the window, the night was finally over. He got up from the chair and went towards the living room leaving behind sleeping Hayley. When he came out from Hayley's room and stepped foot on the living room he could see Aaron siting on the sofa and had a coffee mug in his hand. He was sipping his coffee slowly and he was thinking about something that much Caleb could tell by looking at his friend's face. He walked towards him and took a seat on the sofa beside him. Aaron glanced his way and then asked smiling " do you want some coffee?" Caleb just nodded, Aaron got up from his seat and then brought another cup of coffee for Caleb. While sitting Aaron said to Caleb " I need to go back now, I have some early appointments in the hospital so I have to be there early today. She is going to wake up in two to three hours, she might feel weak and fuzzy in head a bit. You have to make sure she must eat something light before taking her medicine and when she wakes up you need to take her temperature first and then call me, I will send doctor for her on my behalf." Caleb heard each and every word of Aaron's with so much concentration and dedication as if he was hearing recital of some holy script. After making sure that Caleb understood each and every instruction that he gave him regarding Hayley's health , Aaron got up from his seat and started to walk towards the main door that was when Caleb called out to him and said " are you still going to be busy in the afternoon or evening?" Aaron didn't get why Caleb asking him his schedule so he gave him a look, after sensing his friend's gaze Caleb felt somewhat awkward and then hurried to explain " see, Keith is going to be here in some time so I thought that except sending some other doctor to check on Hayley why don't you take some time off in afternoon or evening to come here, it will put my mind at ease." After this last sentence escaped Caleb's mouth he realized that he almost sold himself out so he awkwardly tried to rectify his mistake by saying " I mean it will put Keith's mind at ease, as you know he is so protective of her." Even if Caleb tried to cover up his feelings but Aaron could see that his friend for decades was in love and he was trying very hard to deny it. Aaron nodded in approval, there was a small smile on his face but if someone look closely there was hint of sadness in that smile, with that Aaron left Hayley's apartment.
Hayley didn't know which time of day it was when she woke up but she felt tired her whole body felt too much weak. She looked around, she was in her room but how she thought , last thing she remembered that she was in engagement party then how came she was in her room at this point of time. Although Hayley's body felt week and her mind was little fuzzy she willed herself to remember what happened last night and then she remembered everything that how suddenly in the party last night she started to feel weak and cold and then Aaron came there and he was the one who brought her home and took care of her. When she remembered each and every bit of what happened last night she felt little bit warm inside. She heard some noises coming from outside the room. Aaron, this name came in Hayley's mind after hearing the noises and she tried to get out from her bed and with shaky steps she walked towards the noises and when she reached the kitchen from where those noises are coming from , she was stupefied to see Caleb standing away from a pan and there was black smoke coming out from pan. She shrieked in horror and then poured a full jug of water into the pan and then she switched off the gas stove and then she looked towards the another person present in the kitchen Caleb, looking as horrified as a small kitten in new surrounding.
