Darius sighed and looked at Azreal like a child.

"Kid, you don't realize how special you are, do you know how difficult it is to become a beast king for these creatures? this is something that takes other on average 50 to 60 years! to achieve and you just did it in five seconds minus all the pain, with this much strength your no different from a real king, you're not the strongest being here but your far from the weakest, you walking around now versus you walking around a few hours ago cannot be compared, not only have you advance in strength but also in prestige, the simplest display of strength and everything weaker than you will bow hence the title 'king'"

Azreal didn't immediately respond, taking a moment he decided to ask something that he'd been holding in.

"The other night in the barn, were you talking to a woman or was that my imagination?"

Hearing the sudden change of topic Darius tensed up for a second before shrugging.

"You were awake? Yea what about it?"

"Nothing she just looked a lot like my mother but she died a long time ago" A faint smile hung on his lips as he replied.

Darius' facial expressions changed a few times before he finally responded.

"Uhmm kid I don't know how to tell you this but if that woman looked like your mother then…...she was your mother, there will never be a mortal that even closely resembles anyone from the divine realm"

Azreal's entire body went stiff when he heard that.

"Bu—but she died! I was right beside her when it happened!"

Darius didn't say anything he just stood there locked in thought as if he was weighing the pros and cons.

"I'm going to tell you something and it'll make you cry, and you will cry for five minutes but after those five minutes you will dry your tears, any questions you might want to keep them to yourself until you are at a point where you can get the answers because I won't have them"

Azreal was about to say some but Darius raised his palm

"Five minutes"

When Darius began to speak, it didn't take a minute before Azreal really did start crying, Banging fist in the wall, and howling in pain, as Darius spoke he used his fingers to count the minutes, when he got to three he stopped talking and left Azreal to come to terms with what he told him and as agreed on once the five minutes came close he dried his tears.

"If you want more then you have to go to the old man that brought you here"

"I don't even know where to start" Azreal's voice sounded hoarse but the determination in it wasn't hidden.

"That's simple leave the nether realm, find this Wolf King, the technique he's working on sounds interesting, being able to jump across space, it might be just what you're looking for but just leaving here won't be enough if you aren't a God with an affinity then it's pointless, you won't even be able to get near the old man much less speak to him"

"Affinity?" Azreal looked at Darius in confusion.

"Yea Uhmm like, The God of Death, The God of Light, The Goddess of Nature, The God of Mischief, in other words being a Named True God but being one isn't easy so even when you leave here it's still going to take a lot, but if you can cross that threshold and meet him he'll be able to tell you a lot more than I can"

When Darius mentioned the God of Mischief a smile blossom on his face and pride reflected in his eyes.

"Can I chose my own affinity?"

"Nope, it's based off your personality and actions along with some other factors, but don't worry whichever one you get will be beyond perfect for you, also I'm gonna start appearing more often to teach you my [King's Runes] but for that we trade, the remaining core for my knowledge"

Azreal looked over at the core and thought of the power he'd gain then thought about the knowledge he could gain from Darius.

"I already have a book on runes and I'm sure I could get more, so I don't see the appeal, what else you got?"

Darius stood there completely stunned.

'Did this little shit just compare the crap he found in some book to my [King's Rune]?!'

Smiling, Darius managed to hide his rage.

"Ignorance really is bliss, but fine I'll trade you the formula that was is the pile of dust"

Darius looked at Azreal with a cocky smile

"Your move kid"

Azreal also started smiling when his hand reached for the core.

"What are you doing! do you think just because you aren't able to remember it I won't?"

Hearing that Azreal stopped his hand and looked at Darius.

"Kid we're stuck together if you die I die! Why would I want to rob you of something that will make you stronger without giving you something equally as valuable?! if in the long run it might lead to my death!"

When Azreal heard that he felt like it made sense, with the little cord that connected them, if Darius could escape he would've already, but he could also be lying and once he died the link would be severed, taking a deep breath Azreal pulled his hand away from the core, if Darius led him to his death even if he only had a single breath in him he'd take him with him.

Heaving a sigh of relief, Darius proceeded to describe what he saw in the book before it turned to dust.

"…..but I would advise you to hold off on using his formula with normal runes, before you go find the Wolf King, find the lizard first to get back the sword and get a blacksmith to tell you what it's made of once you have that, you can create your own using my runes which are more powerful to substitute the crappy ones, after that…..you can start tomb raiding for cores to get stronger until you find the Wolf King"

Azreal nodded in understanding, What Darius said was very logical.

"What about the Empyrean Wolves that are probably waiting outside and the core?"

When Darius heard the question he laughed.

"Hahaha weren't you listening? I wasn't joking when I said showing a bit of your power and weaker creatures will bow what you need to do is pray that there are no Beast Kings out there hahaha, as for core? Draw four circles all different sizes within each other, then draw a triangle within that overlaps those circles, on each side of the triangle draw a semi-circle, now listen carefully and draw these symbols exactly as I say..."

Darius processed to slowly describe each symbol to Azreal ensuring that he got every single detail correct, when he was finished he pushed the core in the center.

With the core in the center, the diagram began to contract and expand repeatedly, each time getting smaller until it was reflected in the center of the core, disappearing from the desk.

"What was that?"

"Nothing important it just prevents the energy from leaking out, don't make direct contact with it use the book or something to toss it in your space ring"

Darius spoke in a nonchalant manner.

"What happens if I touch it?"

"No idea I've never met anyone dumb enough to do it, please don't be the first"
