Stepping out onto the balcony overlooking the city Shahiem took a deep breath to relax his body, his body was covered in sweat but he wasn't panting just taking deep breaths.

In the time since Adidja died there wasn't much to do aside from training he didn't focus on much else, even alchemy had temporarily taken a back seat.

Only recently did he manage to finally reach the volcano's heart, and when he did he was able to gain some of the memories contained within the Phoenix inheritance, and according to it, for now, he needed to solely focus on strengthening his body, his body would slowly start playing a major role, if he's being totally honest the memories shocked him when he first saw them.

He saw the memories from someone else point of view and what he saw were hundreds of Phoenix's training, most people had heard about warbeast, and although history books told stories of the war the number of people who survived the war wasn't a lot and they didn't talk about it, so when people hear the stories or read history books—the books only said the warbeasts were defeated—they would think that the warbeasts had been killed.

People who claim to have the bloodline of dragons or Phoenix or any other beast were believed since dragons and Phoenix lived here but the amount of power and intelligence they could muster up was negligible until they got really strong and old and that didn't fit with the stories.

So seeing so many Phoenix training and displaying a high level of intelligence was surprising.

He'd spent quite some time researching it but didn't find anything, even going as far as to send out servants to find books but still nothing, Rhyno and the others weren't of much help either, so without any other choice he had to just go according to the memories to unlock more of them.

After starting his training he'd noticed that his senses had been heightened, his physical body was only getting stronger and stronger even Grimm and the others praised him but he took no pleasure in it, in fact it made him a bit sad, according to the memories he was barely at the level of something called a Savage Beast, looking over the memories a Savage Beast would be comparable to a Divine Being on the food chain.

Since the warbeast depended solely on physical strength Shahiem thought it wouldn't be impossible for a Savage Beast to kill a God, since the warbeasts body was stronger it could take more punches while a God, on the other hand, didn't focus on physical training as warbeasts did.

The only really good thing worth reporting that has happened so far was that his mothers came out of mourning.

Taking another deep and releasing a sigh Shahiem was just about to go back to training when a figure silently appeared behind him kneeling.

"Lord Shahiem it as you suspected, Alliance is being attacked!"

"By wh— never mind call Rhyno and Grimm"

It didn't take long for shirtless sweat covered Rhyno to show up along with Grimm.

"Tell them"

The messenger repeated the message, Rhyno and Grimm weren't surprised by this since Shahiem had already spoken about it.

"What do you think?" Shahiem asked still staring off into the city.

"Do you even need to ask?" Rhyno replied with a smile.

"And Rodney?"

"He's fled the city before they could get to him, because of his injuries staying to fight would be suicidal" the messenger replied

"Tell the others to find out where he's going, Grimm Rhyno Let's go"

~•~

It didn't take long for them to find out where Rodney was headed and with a few hundred soldiers behind him, a fully armored Shahiem stepped into a carriage carried by six Pegasus's, in fact, all the soldiers were riding Pegasus's.

Since they already knew the final destination they were just going to head there but as if some strange stroke of luck while on the way there they saw another carriage.

Normally it wouldn't catch their attention but because Shahiem was bored he was staring outside and just as they were about to pass Shahiem took a good look at the carriage and those who were inside.

"Stop!"

Shahiem entire group stopped blocking the path of the carriage, stepping out of the carriage Shahiem stared even harder, the person inside looked exactly like Earlon.

"Get out of the carriage"

Earlon hesitated for a moment but still came out, his face wasn't angry he was totally relaxed.

"Go, bring her away, she doesn't need to see"

Earlon shut the carriage door and spoke to the coachman.

"Damn she's ugly"

"Fuck how does he manage to stand up while looking at her"

The whispers of the soldiers behind him caught Shahiems attention so he looked over when he saw the woman's face he could suppress his laughter.

The 'woman' had on a hideous wig, the makeup on her face looked like it was done by a blind old woman, her rough features were clearly that of a man.

"Destroy the carriage!" Shahiem spoke while laughing, his laughter wasn't evil but instead like he'd heard a funny joke.

The guards were confused but still moved forward, just as they were ready to attack a wave of lighting knocked them away.

The 'woman' stepped out of the carriage with a hideous express, without a word she rushed into the crowd a started slaughtering the soldiers, Earlon not too far behind even though the guards were strong they couldn't put up a fight against Rodney and Earlon.

Before things got any worse Shahiem stepped forward, Rodney and Earlon stopped since he had to have someone protecting him and any wrong move and they could end up on someone's sword since they were in a weakened state.

"I didn't expect you to trick my people, but to think you'd put on a wig to try and escape?"

Once everyone saw Rodney's face they all started laughing, this only seemed to make his face grow uglier.

"Even though we're in this state a God will not stand against me! A God will not stop me!"

When Shahiem heard that he stopped laughing and turned confused.

"We?"

Just as he said that Grimm's body started coming out of the shadows that were formed by Rodney and Earlon soundlessly he appeared grabbing onto Earlon's fat neck and in one swift motion he silently took his head and went back into the shadow.

When Rodney noticed he was stunned silly, no one on Shahiem side had moved and if they had he would've noticed.

At no point did Grimm cross his mind since everyone thought that he was dead.

He didn't drop his guard for a second since it was clear that somebody was helping Shahiem from the shadows.

"To think that you'd hire an assistant? If you want revenge at least have the guts to do it yourself!"

Shahiem only smiled in response.

At this time two shadows opened up right beside Rodney and two of Rhyno's clones jumped out.

When Rodney saw this he could help but release a sigh of relief, so Rhyno was the one in the shadows but still didn't drop his guard.

"Hmph! looks like you learnt some new tricks!" Rodney spoke as he dashed towards Rhyno his body covered in lighting.

"I did"

Hearing the sinister voice coming from right beside his ear Rodney was stunned silly, he didn't even sense him and he was so close.

Just like before in less than a second Grimm rammed his knife in Rodney over eight times before he had no choice but to let go because of the lighting coursing through him.

Just as he disappeared Rhyno appeared knocking Rodney out of the sky.

Boom!

Getting up out of the hole Rodney cough up a few mouthfuls of blood, his movement became a lot more sluggish.

"Paralysis?"

As he was trying to move a shadow started descending from the sky, Shahiem descending figure was covered in a sparse layer of blue flames with a little bit of red mixed.

With the fire burning on his body and the sun shining brightly behind him he looked like an angel descending from the heavens.

When his feet touched the ground he took steady even steps towards Rodney.

As he was approaching Rodney tried to raise his hand, fighting through the paralysis and just as he'd manage to raise it Shahiem slapped it to the side.

And just as he did so a vast torrent of lightning shot out of his palm but Shahiem ignored it, gripping on to Rodney's a stream of fire came out of his palm.

In the midst of this Shahiem grabbed his sword and decapitated him, he didn't keep it as a prize instead throwing it up in the air and kicking it into the nearby forest.

Watching the headless body burn Shahiem felt like a knot was removed from his heart.

'Only one more person left'

"There's no need to head there anymore, let's go home"

Before leaving they gathered up the bodies of their dead and left, the coach driver was also killed.
