Chen Zhao spun around and punched. He bent both the man and the bat in his hand.
He turned toward the group of thugs and smiled menacingly. The thugs still hadn’t recognized the severity of this problem. They thought that they still had power in numbers, so they charged at Chen Zhao without any hesitation.
On the ground, Willis heard a bunch of noise, but he couldn’t get up. He could only tilt his head and watch the thugs surround Chen Zhao and beat him up.
Just then, a thug fell down before him. He was shocked. The thug’s injuries were horrible. His entire arm was bent unnaturally.
Another one came, and a third, fourth…
Willis climbed up with difficulty. He realized that there were seven or eight thugs lying on the ground already.
Three of them had died. Two of the dead ones didn’t have clear fatal injuries. However, the bald guy’s injury was very obvious. His chest had caved in.
Another one was kicked meters away. He smashed onto the rock. It didn’t look like he was dead, but his condition was bad.
Right then, Willis finally understood what Fali had said at the hamburger joint. This guy was too scary. He’d killed and injured dozens of people while only getting a few minor injuries himself.
At that moment, the RV’s door opened again. Princess, White Ma, and Black Ma joined the fight.
With Princess’ weight, she could kill someone with a slap. Black Ma and White Ma stopped the people from escaping. They’d drag back whoever dared to run away, bringing them back to Princess to get a slap.
Within ten short minutes, all the thugs were on the ground. Willis estimated that at least four or five of them had died.
Fali and Faur also came out. Fali was alright, but Faur was losing it. She didn’t think that the usually smiley Chen Zhao would be so terrifying when he was angry. These thugs were either dead or handicapped for life.
Faur helped check Willis’ condition while Chen Zhao searched for the source of the signal disturbance. Then he called the cops.
When the police arrived, they discovered that the scene was much bloodier than they’d imagined. Chen Zhao had acted in self-defense and had saved Willis, so they didn’t make it hard for him.
However, the three were still brought to the nearby police station for a record.
The three all had legit jobs. Chen Zhao was a UCLA professor, Faur was a doctor, and Fali was a member of the Coastal Rescue Team. These three careers were all respected by people.
This helped reduce a lot of trouble, even though Chen Zhao was suspect of over-reacting. The police wouldn’t give Chen Zhao trouble for this. They even spoke up for him.
To the police, saving one of their brothers was like saving themselves. Plus, these thugs were all horrible criminals, responsible for many murder cases.
Getting killed while committing a crime was just karma.
When the three left the station, they even had a police car help lead the way. The officer brought them all the way to the patrol area before leaving.
However, they’d also wasted four to five hours.
They’d planned on reaching Sacramento at four p.m., but they ended up leaving the police station at three and they were only halfway there.
Faur had the biggest shock, but she was a doctor. She still had a strong heart.
She’d seen many dead people before, including those with even crueler deaths. She quickly readjusted her mindset.
However, she’d gotten a new understanding of Chen Zhao today. He seemed so harmless usually, but he was actually terrifying when angered.
The three didn’t reach Sacramento until about nine p.m.
“Fali, when will you and Faur come? Mom and I finished cooking dinner, but you’re still not here.” Laurent called to hurry them again.
“Our car broke down along the way,” Fali said. “We were delayed for a few hours.”
She and Faur had agreed not to reveal what had happened today, so Laurent and Winnip wouldn’t be worried.
Laurent and Winnip lived in the suburbs of Sacramento. They had a small farm. The RV passed by a rye field and finally stopped before a white two-story house.

Grom patted the brown bear beside him. The bear licked Grom’s palm, seeming very docile.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Laurent. Prince will complete this mission beautifully.”
“Remember your mission. Scare that b*stard. It’s best if you can make him piss his pants. Karim, is your camera ready?”
“Ready, Mr. Laurent.”
“Kane, if Fali and Faur enter first, pull them aside beforehand.”
“Understood,” Kane answered. “But Mr. Laurent, are you sure Chen won’t kill us?”
