Lila rubbed her eyes, and murmured, "Haruka?" No response followed. She frowned slightly until she saw the note beside the pillow.
I'm at a judges conference for the second round. It's short; I will be back soon. - Haruka
Her lips curved to a smile seeing the note, and she chuckled softly. It seems like Haruka is changing slowly. In the past, he would have just left her without saying a word. But now he's informing her. Lila took out her phone.

Breakfast? And lunch?
No sooner had she done so, Lila received a reply.
From: Haruka
Both.
Good morning, it's still early.
Rest for a while longer since I wore you out too much last night
Her cheeks reddened at the second line, Lila murmured idiot. He actually has sex on his mind 24/7 a day. But these days, he is more considerate to her feelings. As much as she would love to lounge in bed for a while longer, there are chores to do. Lila got up and walked towards the cabinet when she spotted Haruka shirt on the table.

The apartment she and Haruka lived in wasn't as fancy as the place they shared in Japan. It had more of a retro feel, and the interior inside was painted brick walls. There is an attached kitchen to the living room, but it was spacious and not cramped together. On the day they first came, Haruka explained that after the old man who looked after him passed away. He didn't have a stable place to live for a while and jumped between acquaintances houses. She sensed how vague he was when he explained this. Lila understood it immediately; he was referring to staying at other women's homes. But then Haruka said he found this place for a reasonable price.
Paired with some shorts and Haruka's shirt, Lila made her way downstairs and prepared breakfast in the kitchen. It was a quiet Saturday morning, and thankfully she had a day off. Haruka working and not her felt somewhat strange, but when Lila expressed this concern before. He told her it's better if she got rest when she could. He already knows everything, doesn't he?
Regarding her powers. For as long as possible Lila wanted to avoid mentioning that the two of them are enemies. But as the days go by, it's become increasingly hard to do so.
A little while had gone by when she was finishing up making breakfast when Lila heard the intercom. Lila paused for a moment; seldom anyone knew they were staying here. Haruka even kept the resident a secret from his fellow judges. Maybe it's Jae-hee? But Jae-hee would not ring the intercom; it's most likely Kotori. Lila switched the stove off and covered the food. She exited the room and made her way down the hallway.
"Yes? Who is--" Lila paused in mid-sentence seeing the face on the intercom and quickly opened the door, "Brother?!!!"

Lila sighed and put the mug down, what's with this situation? Though she said, she wanted to meet with him. Lila didn't think he would appear before her so soon.
"This is a nice place.."
Lila glared at him, and her brother sweatdropped, "I know, I know I shouldn't have dropped by unexpectedly.."
"That's not the point; I wanted to see you too, brother. But.."
Huan smiled, "I'll leave before he comes back, don't worry."
"I feel guilty. I want to tell Haruka the truth. It's the one thing I'm hiding from him." This was the only thing she's hidden from Haruka. Everything else, she's told him.
"I see, sorry." Huan apologized.
If he's sorry, he should allow her to tell Haruka. But judging from his tone, that's still a no.
"Brother, did you come here because of Yumeko?"
Huan laughed, "I came here to protect my cute sister--" he trailed off, when she took the plate of food away from him, "I came here mainly for Yumeko."

Why do the men in her family feel the need to bother with petty lies?

She exited the room and made her way down the hallway.
"Yes? Who is--" Lila paused in mid-sentence seeing the face on the intercom and quickly opened the door, "Brother?!!!"

Lila sighed and put the mug down, what's with this situation? Though she said, she wanted to meet with him. Lila didn't think he would appear before her so soon.
"This is a nice place.."
Lila glared at him, and her brother sweatdropped, "I know, I know I shouldn't have dropped by unexpectedly.."

Huan smiled, "I'll leave before he comes back, don't worry."
"I feel guilty. I want to tell Haruka the truth. It's the one thing I'm hiding from him." This was the only thing she's hidden from Haruka. Everything else, she's told him.

If he's sorry, he should allow her to tell Haruka. But judging from his tone, that's still a no.

Huan laughed, "I came here to protect my cute sister--" he trailed off, when she took the plate of food away from him, "I came here mainly for Yumeko."

Why do the men in her family feel the need to bother with petty lies?
