Sumire turned to the duke only to find that the burns had somehow made it's way onto his face too. Ahhh, what to do? If he touches the bottle then it will also burn to a crisp. Um um.... Something clicked inside her head as she recalled the last time she met him. Sumire picked up the bottle and swallowed the medicine and turned to the black hair man, as she bent down and kissed him. Yuhi will get mad at her if he find out. But this is the only way to give it to him now that it's spread on to his face and his hands.
"Mmmph.."
Lucifer breaks their lips apart. "Hmm. Although you're the one who started it, aren't you the one who is worn out?"
Sumire flushed ever so slightly. "Do not misunderstand. I can't allow you to die. You have to live and atone for your sins."
"Indeed. But you really are quite a fool, that's elixir isn't it?"
"It was the only effective way..."
"Not only did you use your precious medicine for an enemy. You gave me a kiss despite it going against your morals and you didn't take the box from me." Lucifer seemed amused but he sighed. "Did you not learn anything after living with me for so long? I am not a good man. My past corrupted me yes but even if those events did not happen, I would have ended up this way. That Zane child causing this mess is the same too."
"Do you know that child?" Sumire questioned.
Lucifer sighed and sat down. He put the torch to one side and Sumire awkwardly took a seat on one of the rocks.
"I do know him. You killed his parents."
At that comment her eyes widened. But she quickly shook of her surprise.
"Did you realize?"
"Yes." Sumire trailed off. "His fixation towards Lila-chan seemed very strange. Indeed Lila-chan can help him with his problems. But it does not have to be her. There are other candidates available, even Rosalia-chan who he keeps beside him could do that for him. I wonder if he has realized that."
Besides if he truly wants to get Lila-chan, he would target her directly. There woul be no need for him to do this.
"Do you want me to remind you when you killed them?"
Sumire sighed.
"During the time one of your friends betrayed you, and you willingly went to my side. When you tried to escape, you killed those men. One of them was his father."
"His mother then?"
"She was one of the maids I assigned to you when you ran away from your family and left everything behind."
She bit her lip and clenched her fist. "Why did you not let her go? Her husband was killed by me already. How could you assign her to me?"
"I thought it was perfect. I wanted to see if she would have the nerve to kill you." Lucifer chuckled. "But how could she do it? You were clearly in pain everyday and you always called out your husband and childrens name. She sympathized with your pain instead."
"Her name?" Sumire asked. But she already had a feeling that she knew who it was.
"Sarah."
A woman with ginger hair tied in a bun with emerald green eyes appeared in her head. Sumire remembered the young woman very well, she was the only one with a distinct appearance among the other servants. The memory was very blurry to her. But she vaguely recalled one night where she lost control and hurt a particular servant. Was that her?
"The first death was deliberate, the second was not. Zane cares about the second one more. He did not like his father so he did not mind the man's death. But the boy was attached to his mother."
"Is this why you--"
"Why did I try to keep you beside me? Correct." Lucifer trailed off. "At the start, I only intended to keep you beside me for a short amount of time. I intended to convince you to return to your husband. However your condition certainly frightened me, not even I understood what was happening with you. Later on when I learned about that young boy's revenge, I decided to keep you by my side."
"Do you truly think he is a threat?" Sumire asked.
She found it hard to believe that Lucifer would take action if he wasn't a threat.
"It is hard to say, but right now he is causing problems. He must be dealt with." Lucifer trailed off and took out his bag. He removed a bottle and placed it in the center. Sumire understood and picked it up, she poured him a drink.
"Sumire, how big is the world?'
"Are you asking this because you plan on conquering all the lands?"
"Is there any land that's not conquerable?" Lucifer questioned.
What unbelivable confidence he has. When conquering all the lands is something nobody has ever been able to achieve before. He really believes that he is capable of doing it?
Sumire pours him another cup. "I don't believe that the world will be easy to conquer just like that. Each of the areas have generals. Kanagawa has you but there are many that have. It won't be easy. Besides with your situation it is difficult for you to do anything, there is somebody however who is close to achieving it."
"Komei?"
"The other time weren't you talking about going W prefecture? Before I would often visit my brother's palace and saw that standing behind the screens. It's true that he's a talented, handsome and a proud person. But he also has good manners. He's no ordinary man."
At that comment Lucifer's eyes twitched in annoyance. "Why does it seem like you praise anybody who isn't me?"
"Oh, you finally noticed?"
A dark aura wrapped around him. Most people would properly collapse due to the pressure but she wasn't just anyone. Sumire chuckled. "Relax, even I know you have your good points. Though I still find you hard to handle." She trailed off. "That kiss just now, if you were worried about my condition, say something."
Sumire noticed afterward that he kissed her to transfer darkness
