Flummoxed.

That would the word to describe how Hilia and Yoan were feeling, staring right into a pair of gorgeous peach eyes. They were big and round, a perfect pair of eyes.

Seeing the missing princess that Mino and Kai talked about, right in front of their very eyes, they couldn't believe that they managed to meet her so easily. She even saved their lives!

Siraye blinked her eyes, puzzled by their blank expressions, "did I say something wrong? I apologise."

The other two had removed their masks, one of them shaking their head, while the other just sighed. They were pretty and their features were similar to one another, however, if they were compared to the princess, they would be considered average.

Their bodies seemed lean compared to Siraye's slim body. They had long, straight, black hair and dark brown eyes that almost resembles black.

"Princess, please, do not expose your identity so easily."

At those words, Hilia and Yoan snapped out from their daze, hurrying to greet the princess formally. Alas, they didn't grow up in an environment which taught them about greeting royalty, thus, Hilia and Yoan could only awkwardly bow and stop themselves and trying to bow yet again, repeating this cycle of cluelessness.

Siraye watched them, startled at first before she felt laughter bubbling in her chest. A soft, melodious laughter filled the air and Hilia smiled sheepishly while Yoan felt embarrassed, shoving his hands into his pocket.

"It's alright! Don't worry, May and June, they aren't bad people. They are even clueless on how to greet me, look!"

"Cute fellas, aren't you?"

"Princess, don't tease them. You too, May."

The only way to recognise the different between the identical sisters were their names. Other than that, it was hard to Identity which sister was which.

Siraye finally recovered from her laughter, beaming at all of them. She then took a step closer to Yoan and Hilia, her tone gentle and sincere.

"Please, discard the formalities, everyone is equal here," Siraye said, casting her eyes downwards as she softened her words. "The princess of Lathia is utterly powerless right now."

The sisters, which were of course her personal bodyguards that Mino and Kai mentioned, grew deathly silent. Siraye blinked rapidly, realising what she had muttered out unknowingly.

"Oh goodness, I apologise. Please, follow me, you'll be safe here, for now."

Siraye walked on ahead, and they all followed her deeper into the crevice.

*******

The further they walked in, the crevice eventually expanded into another cave. Though, this wasn't man-made and it had simply been there somehow, miraculously. They had walked for a few minutes in silence, before finally reaching their destination.

There were tents set up everywhere, along with a campfire and people sat around the campfire, holding steaming hot wooden cups in their hands, conversing softly. They were all dressed in clothes that resembled a miner or a vagrant. The people eagerly stood up when they saw Siraye, greeting her politely and it was obvious how she was revered by her own people.

She greeted them back, with a beautiful smile on her face and headed into one of the bigger tents, Yoan and Hilia following them into the tent.

The interior of the tent was furnished with minimal furniture and it did not exactly suit the image of the princess of a kingdom, and Siraye knew it too, showing a sheepish expression.

"Pardon the...lack of extravagance in this tent, ever since I left the comfort of my home, I had to throw away all the luxuries I could afford."

"No, no, it's alright, Your Highness!" Hilia hurriedly spoke up and her twin bodyguards only chuckled, placing their weapons on the plain, old couch. They headed to the tiny, makeshift kitchen, preparing to pour cups of tea for them.

Siraye smiled gently at Hilia, gesturing for the two of them to settle down on the couch opposite her, in between the couches was a small wooden table, that seemed in poor condition. Yoan and Hilia grew rather awkward, obediently listening to Siraye and sitting down.

Her smile disappeared the moment they settled down and Hilia blinked, rather startled by her sudden change.

"I am sorry, Your Highness, did we...do something wrong?"

"I am not an ignorant princess, I do know the current affairs of my kingdom and I know the two of you are fugitives who escaped from prison. I even know my father has commanded that the two of you are to be executed upon sight, and there isn't any formalities needed." Siraye spoke, her eyes focused on them, steady and fierce. The gentle demeanour of hers was long gone, and replaced with a demeanour that resembled a fighter; a warrior.

Hilia stiffened and Yoan's eyes immediately moved towards Siraye's bodyguards, who were approaching them with a tray, three cups sitting on it. However, he noticed how tensed they were, as if they were preparing to fight at any moment.

They are suspicious of us.

Hilia thought to herself, gulping nervously.

"Mino, the captain of our royal guards, was also the man that arrested the two of you," Siraye continued, narrowing her eyes at them. "And that makes me even more wary about the both of you."
