Chapter 404: I’m Still Too Weak!

With that, a Golden Immortal had hence fallen!

The truth was that the psyche of the Golden Immortal Fox had a chance to run. He definitely could have rallied with the other immortal foxes before Jiang He caught up…

And yet, he stopped, and ended up cut down by Jiang He’s barrage of nine slashes.

Still, the old Daemon Fox was not to blame.

After all, he could already sense the arrival of his fellow immortal foxes, and he just had to last the time of a dozen breaths with the soul treasure protecting him… how could he have expected that he would not last that long, even with a soul treasure protecting him?

“Fool!”

Jiang He could not help cursing while he fiddled with the Ancient Bronze Bell.

Was that Golden Immortal Daemon Fox a fool?

It had actually stopped running and taken the blows instead?

You were only left with your psyche. Did you really think that I wouldn’t kill you?

Jiang He then looked up at the figures five hundred kilometers away.

The twelve Heavenly Immortals and the four True Immortal Daemon Foxes were all spacing out, and it took three whole seconds for one of the True Immortals to come to his senses.

“Clan Elder…” He roared heartrendingly.

Still, sound does not transmit in space, so it appeared as if he was roaring silently.

Then, in the next instant, some of the Daemon Foxes yelled telepathically, “Who are you? How dare you slay our clan elder?!”

Jiang He was dumbstruck.

Was foolishness passed down in the bloodline of the Green Hill Foxes?

These Heavenly Immortals and True Immortals had seen him kill their Golden Immortal clan elder, and somehow decided to interrogate him instead of running away?

Jiang He put away the Ancient Bronze Bell with a flip of his palm and soon charged toward those Immortal Foxes like a thunderbolt.

He had always fought when he should, and would not waste his breath if he could.

“Attack!”

A True Immortal invoked an ancient mediocre-grade immortal sword then and charged towards Jiang He, his immortal will yelling telepathically, “I’ll hold him here while you run! If he can slay our clan elder, he most certainly isn’t the Heavenly Immortal he looks like, and he might be secretly be powerful!”

“Run!”

“You must return to the celestial battlefield and send word about this!”

“Humans have wiped out the founding grounds of the Green Hill Foxes and sent their elites in wait to ambush us! There has to be a conspiracy!”

Kaboom!

The True Immortal Fox was incredibly powerful. Having fought in the celestial battlefield for a long time and developed a body full of terrible killing intent, Immortal Qi swirled around the edge of his sword once he attacked. Indeed, his killing intent was so palpable it turned into a bloody domain that shrouded over Jiang He.

At the same time, of the other twelve Heavenly Immortal Foxes and three True Immortal Foxes, two True Immortal Foxes promptly escaped with seven Heavenly Immortal Foxes, while the one remaining True Immortal yelled, “I’ll help you, Eighth Brother!”

His mystic treasure was a hammer.

It arose, expanding into a fifty-kilometer large hammer among the stars as it smashed down on Jiang He.

All the remaining Heavenly Immortals promptly casted their arrays and invoked their immortal items, before charging towards Jiang He as well.

“Damn it!”

Jiang He cursed, parting the bloody domain with a single strike using the Secret Art of Chaos Thundersword, before punching the gigantic hammer and sending it flying backwards over five hundred kilometers. Then, with a wave of his hand, veins of immortal radiance and Sword Qi took to the skies and built up into the Sword Array of Ten Realms and Infinity, surging with Sword Qi that seemed to consume the world itself and surge over all directions. Caught in the blast of Sword Qi, the arrays that the Heavenly Immortals casted crumbled instantly, all of them flying backwards with broken bodies, their very psyche injured by the Sword Qi.

Jiang He did not stop there. Sword in hand, he attacked the pair of True Immortals without being disadvantaged despite fighting both at once. Still, there was a dark look on his face…

He had allowed the other foxes—the seven Heavenly Immortals and the two True Immortals—to escape!

They had fled so quickly that they could have been using some godly talisman to basically teleport. In an instant, they had evaded the detection range of his immortal will, and how was he supposed to catch up amidst the vastness of outer space?

The other immortals blocking his way also goes without mention.

“They would definitely return to the celestial battlefield immediately if they manage to escape, alerting the elites of their clan… if their Grand Luo came, I wouldn’t be able to kill them even if I had ten lives!”

Jiang He’s expression darkened at the thought and he promptly punched out to smash one of the True Immortal Fox’s body into pieces, while his other hand caught the incoming sword of another True Immortal.

“What?”

The True Immortal Fox looked as if he had seen a ghost, and exclaimed in astonishment, “How did a mere Heavenly Immortal like you hone your body to his level?!”

He had tried to recall his immortal weapon, only to find that Jiang He’s palm was not budging no matter how much strength he used.

The ancient mediocre-grade immortal sword kept vibrating in Jiang He’s hand, but was unable to break out of Jiang He’s restraint.

“That mediocre-grade immortal sword…”

Grasping the edge of the blade, Jiang He suddenly had a ridiculous idea.

That flying sword did not seem much.

If he clenched it…

Would he crush it?

And so he firmly grasped.

Creak!

A crisp sound echoed.

Jiang He was dumbstruck.

“Are mediocre-grade immortal swords that hard?”

“I used ninety percent of my strength only to deform it a little?”

Kaboom!

Terrible aura emanated over his body.

A hundred and eight Heavenly Immortal Daos all erupted with dazzling immortal light. Within five hundred kilometers around his body, thunderbolts flickered as Jiang He charged the Scripture of Chaos Thundersword to maximum capacity, and…

He abruptly, firmly grasped.

Crack!

The mediocre-grade immortal flying sword was instantly crushed into pieces that were sent flying across all directions.

Reaching out and scooping the fragments, Jiang He then laughed out as he flew towards the True Immortal Fox who was mentally damaged after his immortal weapon was crushed.

Pow!

He destroyed the Immortal Fox’s body directly!

A second punch then shot out, with thunderbolts erupting along with the shadow of the fist, utterly consuming the True Immortal Fox—struck by another punch even before it could regenerate its body, his psyche was torn and ultimately vaporized.

Jiang He extended his hand, collecting his Spatial Ring before turning to look at the other True Immortal Fox.

Having had his immortal body destroyed by Jiang He just now, the physical form of that True Immortal Fox had just manifested once again, and turned to flee upon seeing what happened. Even so, it had not made it five hundred kilometers away when Jiang He—having turned into a thunderbolt—caught up, and slashed him three times to cut him down.

“No!”

The remaining Heavenly Immortal Foxes despaired, though one burned out his immortal body to unleash a suicidal strike at Jiang He while roaring, “I’ll hold him. The rest of you…”

Even before he could say run, Jiang He punched him into pieces.

“Trying to run?”

“Did you ask my permission before that?”

Jiang He turned into a thunderbolt and advanced in a flash, killing another Heavenly Immortal with a punch. While the remaining five split up to escape, Jiang He caught up with four and killed all of them, while the last one was caught by Hu Mei.

“No…”

“Nine tails?”

“You actually grew nine tails?”

“Could your bloodline have utterly regressed to your ancestry!?”

Snikt!

A sword flash shot out from his back, piercing his skull.

Jiang He then stepped up, Mosquito Cutter in hand. Gently swishing it, razor-sharp Sword Qi pulverized the Heavenly Immortals’ psyche while he collected their Spatial Rings. Even so, there was no joy on his face, and he even growled after a look at the boundless stars around him. “Nothing but trouble!”

The Immortal Foxes that fled would definitely bring word back to their elders.

Jiang He laughed miserably at that thought, sighing. “No matter how many times I would repeat it, I really am too weak. Would those Heavenly Immortals and True Immortals have fled if I was Grand Luo?”

Hu Mei sweetly answered, “Do not undervalue yourself, master. You cut down peers of the same tier like dogs and could easily slay True Immortals as well—you would be in a class of your own even in ancient times.”

“I’m still very much lacking.”

Jiang He chuckled miserably again. “I know my own strength. I’m just a little stronger than True Immortals and a little weaker than Golden Immortal, and the reason for my ability to easily kill True Immortals is because of my exceedingly powerful physique. Their full power strikes hardly pierce my defenses, and I could destroy them with a single punch at full strength… anyway, let’s stop talking about that.”

He spread his fingers, revealing a broken psyche on his palm.

He had kept it when he killed the True Immortal just now.

Jiang He was subjugating that psyche even as it struggled and roared endlessly in Jiang He’s palm. Regardless, it could not escape from Jiang He’s palm no matter what it did.

“Hu Mei,” Jiang He then said, “Since you are adept at searching for spirits, could you find out the specific circumstances of the foxes as well as the combat ability of the other immortals who have just returned to Earth?”

“By the way, why are we only seeing Immortal Foxes and no other immortals?”

Hu Mei nodded, but then said, “Master, this soul fragment of a True Immortal could fall apart and fade entirely after I forcibly use it as a medium for my search.”

“It’s fine, let it fade. It’s just a soul fragment—what, am I supposed to feed it?”

The soul fragment was dumbstruck.

The fox-shaped psyche promptly turned silent.

Ultimately unable to repress his fear in the face of death, it quickly cried telepathically, “Sir, sir, please, mercy! Anything you want to know, you only need ask, and I would answer… I just ask that you spare my life!”

“B*stard!”

Jiang He barked furiously. “A True Immortal like you would be thousands of years old, while I’m just twenty. Am I that old for you to ‘sir’ me around?!”
