"I am so fucking tired of everyone trying to kill me!" shouted Dustin, turning to the damn alien laying on the ground. He reached down and grabbed it by the horn again. Recalling his nanobots, he started dragging it back out of the military base. This place was abandoned. There was no reason to stay here.
As it shrieked in pain, he ignored Jake and Olivia, expecting them to follow him, and dragged its sorry ass all the way outside. Three robots and another alien were waiting for them, having just stepped out of the trees into the clearing.
The robots, upon seeing him, charged towards him.
Dustin raised the head up, of the alien he had dragged, and proceeded to rip it off the torso. The alien that had started towards him, paused. The robots did not.
'PED, as soon as those robots come into contact with me, send the nanobots in to attack the alpha bots.'
(UNDERSTOOD.)
Letting the head drop, he took a stance, jumping high into the air as the robots arrived, diving at him. He flew over them, landing behind them, and took off running after the alien. It took a stance, prepared to meet him as he drew close. His bladed hands glinted for a moment, as the tesla bots coated them, and he shoved both fists into its surprised face.
One of the robots attempted to shove a spike into his back, but his scales caught it and it skittered from his right shoulder across his back, to his left hip. The pain was blinding.
Gritting his teeth, he managed to hold his stance, producing electricity to charge the tesla's as they poured their energy into the alien, frying its brain.
A second robot barreled into him, knocking him to the side. The alien dropped like a rock, twitching and jerking as smoke rose from its cracked carapace.
The robot wrapped its arms around his head, attempting to pop it off of his neck. Nanobots poured over it, severing its arms and tunneling into it, in search of the alpha.
Glancing over, he saw that the first robot was spasming on the ground, already fighting to protect its alpha from his swarm. The third robot was stalking towards him, taking in his actions. As he watched, it grabbed a sapling, snapped the end into a sharp point, and flung it at him.
The strength of this robot was enough, that even with his scales, that improvised spear may have pierced him, but he merely rolled to the side. Sidestepping the flailing limbs of its companions, the robot moved towards him, each of its four arms holding a weapon. It knew that if it touched him, it too would be attacked. Unfortunately, it misunderstood the range of his nanobots.
A strand of them snaked out from one of the other robots, and wrapped around its ankle. The alpha noticed immediately, choosing to sever ties with its foot, and it turned tail and ran, suddenly becoming much shorter.
Dustin watched as it evaded the other strands that were snaking towards it, and climbed to his feet to make sure that the alien was indeed dead.
'PED, I want all information from the storage bots concerning the Uz'En and any wars with the humans.'
(THE UZ'EN ARE KNOWN FOR HIDING AMONG SETTLEMENTS OF HUMANS. THEIR SIMILAR PHYSIOLOGY AND ABILITY TO INTERBREED MAKES THIS A PERFECT HIDING GROUND. THE ROBOTS CAN SENSE THE DIFFERENCE IN THE UZ'EN AND HUMANS BY THE ELECTRICAL OUTPUT OF THEIR NORMAL PHYSIQUE. APPARENTLY WHEN THE UZ'EN INTERBREED, THEY BREED TRUE, NOT TAKING ON ANY OF THE WEAKER PHYSIOLOGIES OF THE OTHER RACE. 'Seems damn shortsighted of the other Uz'En, assuming that is what I am."
He turned to see Olivia and Jake standing in the entrance of the military base, and above them, the last robot prepared to leap. Time seemed to stand still as he opened his mouth to shout a warning. Olivia understood immediately what was going on, turning to shove Jake out of whatever danger Dustin had seen.
The robot landed on top of her, shoving its spike through her torso, and twisted it for good measure, before turning towards Jake. The boy had been pushed into the concrete door, knocking his head hard enough, that he sat dazed and unmoving.
Dustin tried to command the nanobots, but he was too far away. There was nothing he could do as he dashed as fast as he could towards them. The robot took one step towards the boy, and went to shove its spike through the boy's face.
Then it froze. The spike was only inches from Jake's eye, unmoving.
Dustin slowed as he realized what had happened. The nanobots had attacked it when it stabbed Olivia. It was frozen as the alpha was disabled and was currently unable to move until it received further orders.
Jake finally moved away from the robot, fear etched on his face, but instead of curling into a ball and crying, his eyes began scanning the trees to see if there were any other threats. Dustin was almost proud of the boy, then his eyes landed on Olivia. She wasn't moving.
Darting over to her, he rolled her over, and saw blood pulsing out of the wound.
'PED! Why did the scales not protect her?'
He could see them through the skin, that was trying to heal around the mangled mess, and they looked like they had shattered.
He connected his PED up to hers.
(HER PED WAS DISABLED. SHE COULD NOT INITIATE AN EVOLUTION TO HEAL THE SONIC DAMAGE FROM THE A'DFUKL ATTACK AS I DID. THE SCALES WITHIN HER BODY WERE CRACKED AND UNABLE TO PREVENT DAMAGE WHEN THE ROBOT ATTACKED.)
'Enable evolutions and initiate an evolution!'
If she died, not only would he lose out on ever having kids, but he would lose a friend.
