In terms of swordsmanship Lily easily overwhelmed Gajeel in the bout part as Gajeel landed on a floating island...
As Gajeel tries to slash him, Panther Lily just dodged by flying away, before slamming down his massive sword and cutting the island in half causing Gajeel to fall off...
Using his legs, Gajeel activated his magic from there and extended two steel pillars allowing him to raise up in the sky and catch up with Lily...

Panther Lily : Down you went, down you stay!!!
