After waking up, Ed felt that his stomach was now stuck to his back. But, he managed to endure it and headed outside to check up on things. He noticed that the door was not opened at all, which was a relief since that meant no one entered his room. He didn't tell them about the dimensions he can create. So if they entered, they would find an empty room, causing them to panic. Ed made his way to the courtyard of the castle, and he was surprised to see Leonard and Edmund chatting. Leonard was wearing his war clothes, which pushed Ed to ask him, "You going somewhere?"
"Oh, Master Ed! My apologies, I've lost the weapons you made, but I assure you I'll get them back today!" He said these words proudly, but Ed looked at him dubiously. He looked at Edmund who looked away in an instant. They did not tell him about Ed getting back the weapons and killing the one responsible. Ed sighed and took the weapons out of his Inventory.
"There's no need, I have them." As soon as Ed finished his words, the weapons were snatched away from his hands. Leonard moved at a speed not befitting his huge size. He even hugged the greatswords.
"They're back!" Leonard was truly attached to his weapons.
"Anyway, where is my mother?" Ed left him to his own thoughts and asked Edmund. He was in the castle, which meant he was granted access, so he should know such a thing.
"She should be in the office," Edmund told him something that he should have figured out on his own.
"Alright, thanks." Ed thanked him and made his way towards the office. He summoned Suika and told her she can play with Bella, as they were good friends. He also summoned all his companions to allow them to familiarize themselves with Ed's home. Sieg was reluctant at first, feeling out of place since he was an undead. But, Ed assured him that no one would treat him any differently since he is his companion.
Ed reached the office, which was Arthur's originally. Sebas wasn't at the door, so Ed knocked by himself. Elizabeth's voice sounded, telling him to enter. Ed waved her and said, "Good morning" while smiling. She responded with a smile which looked very tired. Ed couldn't help but shiver when looking at the mountain of papers she had to take care of. But, he decided to help, as it was the least he could do. She started telling him which papers to organize, and which to study. He also helped with simple calculations, as it was very easy for him. Yet, some of them were very hard to do, they were calculations of the deceased.
After a while, Ed had helped with almost everything. Elizabeth was glad for his help since she had no one to help her before. Eric and Griffin were both very busy with the sect, while most maids and butlers couldn't read. Even if they could, they had a lot of things to take care of.
As everything was done, Ed started asking Elizabeth some important questions.
"First of all, I want to know where father is." Ed still didn't know anything going on in the kingdom. Many things didn't make sense to him, so he had no choice but to ask Elizabeth. Elizabeth told him all the major incidents that happened. Blood sect amassed a greater force than they expected. Many strong evil sects joining them. They also started their assault in all four continents. Only the Central Continent was left alone. Their ability to target four continents showed how much power they have gathered.
'Aragon… that should be Emilia's kingdom.' Ed thought deeply after hearing the explanations. He was told that Emilia went back to her kingdom in order to put a stop to Norris, but now her kingdom fell. He couldn't help but worry about her as she was his friend. He also asked about his other friends' situation.
"I want to know what happened to Avalez, Schweiz, as well as the beast kingdom." Ed tried his best to remember the kingdoms of his friends. He knew Ryuu kingdom, Hayato's kingdom, was doing fine. But he had no idea about the others.
"Avalez and Schweiz are in the same situation as us. The last time I heard about them, they were still fighting. But, the beast kingdom declared their allegiance to Blood sect, along with the Oni kingdom." Ed was surprised to hear this. The Beast kingdom was Ellie's kingdom, and the impression he got from her was one of never backing down. He couldn't imagine her kingdom simply submitting to the control of Blood sect so easily. He had no friends in the Oni kingdom, so he didn't care as much. He tried to ask about the situation of some others such as Charlie. But, since he didn't know the name of their kingdoms, he couldn't get much information.
Elizabeth and Ed continued chatting for a while before She asked him, "So what caused your delay?" Ed knew this question was coming and didn't know how to respond. No one knew about the second tower, and he didn't know if he should tell them about it. But, he decided to tell her the truth, as it was better that way.
"I was in a s-" Before Ed could continue, a huge tremor spread throughout the castle. Ed and Elizabeth were worried about an attack so they got up in a hurry. Ed didn't see any red dots in the Map so he was confused. Before they left, they heard someone screaming.
"Get back here you two!!! Even if you're an angel, I'll still beat you up!" After hearing the voice, Ed couldn't help but ask himself, 'Angel?' Only one person came to his mind. He and Elizabeth left the room only to see Dorothy. Dorothy was the person in charge of cooking in the castle. She was a stout and plump middle-aged woman with red hair and a short stature. And right now, she was following two figures in the hall while waving a ladle around.
"We're hungry!" "That's right it's only because we're hungry!" The ones she was following were Merry and Agumon, who apparently stole some food from the kitchen. Agumon had all sorts of meat, with a long line of sausage flowing in the air behind him. Merry had sweets and baked goods all gathered in her hands while she was flying away. Ed couldn't help but hold his stomach while laughing. He quickly explained to Dorothy that they were his companions and that he'll take care of everything.
Before they could relax, the tremors happened again, reminding Ed and Elizabeth who were still laughing. They made their way outside, only to find Gobuta, Goburou, Garu, and Sieg fighting Eric, Griffin, Leonard, and Edmund.
At first, Ed was worried about something going wrong with the two groups. But, he quickly realized they were only sparring. Ed's group was strong, so they couldn't help but ask them for a duel.
