Everyone started following after the butler without lagging behind. Ed, Hayato, and Emilia also moved along and situated themselves in the middle of the group of people. It was always a better idea to be in the middle, not the end and not the beginning. After leaving the hall, the group of people moved in a straight hall that they could barely see the end of, however after getting to the end the butler spoke to the group.
"Everyone we're meeting his highness, Uther Scale Pendragon. Please be on your best attitudes" Ed finally heard the name of the kingdom's king. It was the same as the legendary king of Britain of his previous world other than the Scale part.
The doors opened and the group took a look at a hall that was spacious and had as many decorations as it could hold. At the end of it, an elderly man sat on a throne room while a young girl was standing next to him. After the group got to the middle of the room they stood still and bowed down in front of him. They all followed the proper etiquette since they were now representing their countries; they were also of lower status compared to the king in front of them.
Scale kingdom was very famous for its military power and its exploits. The guild system seemed to work very well for them and they had good relationships with most neighboring countries. It was foolish to try and pick a fight with such a county.
After looking at the group of people for a while, the king finally spoke.
"You can be at ease. Now then everyone! Will you all follow me to the courtyard hahahahaha!" Everyone was thinking why would the king bring them to the throne hall if he was going to take them to the castle's courtyard anyway? But after hearing his laugh they knew it was a silly joke of his.
The group could only follow quietly.
After getting to the courtyard they found a circular magic looking diagram. It was big enough to be able to hold all of them.
"Now then everyone, get in!" The king spoke and went to the center.
Ed was kind of wary and asked the system what the diagram meant.
[The magic circle should be a group teleporting device] After hearing the system Ed kind of figured out what was happening. The academy was not in the capital. It was in an entirely different place that no one knew about.
He got on the circle and after everyone was on, it activated and they were surrounded by blinding light which they couldn't help but cover their eyes while it lasted. Soon, they felt their bodies jolt and the light disappeared. Everyone other than Ed was feeling sick, he was spared since he was used to using space magic's short teleport. He was also prepared since he knew the function of the circle.
"Welcome to your academy everyone!" The king spread his hands to further increase the hype of the academy. It was on top of a hill surrounded by forests and deserts from all directions. No one knew the exact location of the academy but they knew it should still be on their continent.
"Now then without further delay! Everyone that is present should make about 99 people. Adding my daughter it should be 100 people" The young girl who was standing next to him suddenly moved and joined the group of people.
"You will all take a test that will determine the class you'll be joining. There are 5 classes: A to E from highest to lowest. Obviously, the test results determine your position" The king now had his hands behind his back while he was tracing up and down and speaking. "The test will be divided into three parts. A magic, physical and intellectual exam. Each of these exams will be overseen by people who excel in their respective fields so no one can object to the results!" After the king spoke he moved away from his spot and a man took his place instead.
"I'm the general of Scale kingdom. No need to know my name, for now, I'll be in charge of the physical exam so follow me" The man had a build that was comparable to Leonard. He seemed like he would excel in hand to hand combat so it was fitting to be the overseer of the physical exam.
After walking for a bit they were now in front of a punching machine. Ed looked like he was struck by lightning while also feeling a bit thankful. He wouldn't have to fight anyone but the thought that an exam would be decided by punching power felt too familiar to him.
"Everyone will come forward and hit this machine. You cannot use QI or you will be given a 0 without discussion. Your performance will decide how you will be ranked in school so remember not to hold back" The general explained how the exam would be rolling and stepped back. He pointed at the person in the very front and told him to come forward.
'So we won't be going in an alphabetical order. Lucky me' Ed was still in the middle of the group and was glad there were so many people in front of him. This way, he would know how much to hold back since he wouldn't want to attract any attention. Although people came here to represent their country, Ed didn't want to be any part of it, he was known to be a crown prince that lost his qualification to the throne because of how weak he was so it would be stupid to show off his power when he's supposed to be weak.
The young man, who was called to the front and without any questions asked, punched the machine as hard as he could and a mist was formed on the ball on top of the machine. It was showing the results of the test this way. A number was formed and everyone was curious how much it was.
The man's score was shown after no longer than 1 second but it felt longer for those who were present. His score was 1250. No one knew if it was considered strong or not but they would be finding out after the second person goes up.
