Time seemed to stop as I stared in shock at Atlas’ body in a pool of blood. What happened now?

“…Atlas?”

Blood. So much blood is flowing out of his chest. His breathes are shallow that every time he exhales, more blood is spilling out from his mouth.

His painfully weak hand tried to reach my tattered boots and grab it with all of his strength, but it felt so weak.

“It can’t be…”

My trembling voice weakly reached my ears.

In my shock, I was pulled out from the darkness by a man’s panicked and trembling voice from the distance.

“Oi! Over here!”

A man is loudly calling for others to come to him, and seeing the identity of the girl crouching down in front of a bloody man, opened his eyes widely and stood dumbstruck.

A suffocating murderous gaze that can pierce you even from a distance has fallen on me, and, without hesitation, he pointed his arrow towards me. This time, I am sure that I am targeted accurately that I will be shot dead.

In this situation, I know, I will get killed!

Before that happens, I burned everything in my surroundings to prevent that from happening. I burned and created fire pillars and barriers to protect me from them.

“I….Ah”

My heart is beating so fast from fear and unconsciously stepped back a few times, and with my trembling legs, I kneeled as I look at them.

My magic is spiralling out of control in my body that it hurts so much, I can’t control how much leaks out and how its intensity is.

The pain causes me to tear up and felt that it’s harder to breathe.

If I continue to use my magic at this rate, with my low mana, it will lead to me damaging my soul that supplies my mana and death, in the worst case scenario.

I was only lucky that I still managed to last this far.

“Fucking hell! Hey! Kill her!”

An incoherent voice screams from behind the flame wall, wanting to kill me.

A flame barrier will not hurt me with its fiery blaze and heat. But once I created this barrier, it continuously releases a widespread blazing mana surge that the enemy soldiers will no doubt be able to discover my location.

Even if enemy soldiers have surrounded me and I luckily managed to create a barrier, it doesn’t mean that it’s an effective way to avoid death.

I don’t know where my location is, but if there are enemy soldiers, we won’t be able to run to the fort as there is still some distance from the two points, so I can’t really expect their help to come.

What should I do? My mana is depleted, Atlas has fallen, my body is exhausted and battered to the point I might lose consciousness. How do I escape?

“…..ah..ugh.”

Once you inhale this air, it will feet like your lungs are being scorched and burned. But my bronze-colored hair swayed in the view that it feels almost surreal.

As if it was a nightmare, Atlas blurred from my vision.

If the Harvester house is without backing, Gil-sama will be eaten alive outside in the society.

Now that the Harvester head had perished, only Atlas, whose last name is Harvester, has the power to ensure that Gil-sama will be safe and sound.

For example, even if Atlas has strayed from his original path, the fact that he is best friends with Gil-sama will never change.

But if at this point Atlas will also perish, Guilford Ivlis will never find salvation in this world as a magician.

“Atlas! Show me your wounds!”

That person isn’t “Guilford”

This isn’t my own love story.

I am not going to die.

All these horrible thoughts in my head are getting out of control and there’s a bigger problem at hand.

I should not be afraid of pain.

I rolled over Atlas’ body and saw an arrow wound. It has pierced his chest deeply.

It may look dangerous but if I stop the bleeding immediately, perhaps there’s still some chance.

I tried to pull off his military uniform that was hard to remove because of the blood and tore open his shirt, but I saw his face paling and slowly losing color.

“I’ll stop the bleeding…or maybe..”

“I’m okay… don’t dirty your hands for me.”

Atlas, who was lying on his back, smiled gently while blood is oozing from his mouth, deeply hurting my chest even more.

“Don’t look at me like that.”
