After the talk with his master, Pan Yinjie didn't know what to do. It seemed that his master was putting a lot of importance on that child without even considering that he might not even make it past the first task.

Reorganizing the library books back on the shelf may appear to be an easy task, but it was not in reality. If the person putting them back wasn't aware of the correct methods to sort the books, then putting them back would be a very tiresome job indeed.

Moreover, Pan Yinjie felt that the young wolf boy would not have any idea of the correct method. If that was so, then his master would be incredibly let down.

Worriedly he glanced at the clock on the wall with immense trepidation to see that there were only 10 minutes left before the boys hour was up.

Massaging his forehead with his hand Pan Yinjie started picturing all sorts of terrible outcomes. Such as, when the hour was up, he would go and find that the boy was still standing in a pile of books with a look of bewilderment written across his face.

'What to do?' sighed Pan Yingjie helplessly to himself. He really didn't want his master to be let down, but his gut told him that it might happen.

He knew that he should trust in his master's judgment, but he started to feel antsy as he watched the seconds tick by on the clock. After seeing that another minute had passed, Pan Yingjie could no longer take it; he had to know how the boy was doing.

As he walked out of the central part of the library and headed towards the west wing where he left the boy, Pan Yingjie hoped he was wrong in his assumption, and the boy would surprise him.

'Please don't let my master be wrong about you.'

Gracefully landing back down on the hardwood floor, Melting Snow turned around to see that he only had only one stack of five books to go, and he would be finished. His eyes sparkled with happiness, knowing that he would be able to finish on time.

'Or would I?' As that fleeting thought crossed his mind, he immediately checked the time.

[Time left: 8 minutes 18 seconds]

Melting Snow let out a massive sigh of relief once he saw that there was still plenty of time left.

Grabbing the next two books from the pile, he once again used his incredible agility to jump up to the 20th shelf on the bookcase. Faster than the eye could see, he places the books in different spots until the number that the quest showed changed.

This was the new method he thought of after realizing that the system that Drifting Cloud came up with was taking way too long. The idea wasn't entirely new; it only deviated a little from the concept the green-haired man gave him.

The only difference was that instead of placing the books one at a time, he discovered that it was better to quickly try them at different spots on the shelf until he saw the number on the quest log change.

He had been doing it that way for the last couple of shelves with gratifying results. Once those two books were correctly placed, he did the same with the next two books until there was only one left.

A big smile came over his features as he picked up the last book; as soon as he placed it on the shelf, he would be finished, and he would still have some time to spare. He couldn't wait to see the librarian's face when he showed up at his desk minutes before the hour was up.

Jumping up once again for the final time, Melting Snow placed the book in the last empty spot with great satisfaction. 'I did it!'

After landing nimbly back on the ground, the furry-eared boy stood back and took in the view of a job well done. If it hadn't looked so strange, he would have patted himself on the back; oh well, he could always do it mentally.

Beaming ear to ear in delight, Melting Snow closed out of his quest screen and tapped the party icon. Before he went to find the librarian, he wanted to tell Drifting Cloud that he had completed the task he was given.

He couldn't wait to see the look on the man's face when he told him that they wouldn't be kicked out of the library. Melting Snow felt so happy that he wouldn't have let the man down.

Just as he was about to press the button that would connect them through party chat, he was interrupted by the unexpected voice of the librarian NPC.

"You have finished already?" The librarian asked in what appeared to be amazement.

~

Pan Yinjie finally understood how stupid he was to ever even think about doubting his master.

There was a proverb he learned from a foreign traveler years ago that fits this situation flawlessly, it went 'Seeing is believing.' This meant that a person needs to see something before they can accept that it really exists or transpires.

As Pan Yingjie looked at the bookcase that was upright and was filled with neatly shelved books that, from what he could see, appeared to be in the right order, he can surely say that he can fully see the boy's potential.

He had passed the first test, and he will get the book just like his master had said.

~

Melting Snow jumped, startled by the sudden sound of the man's voice. Turning his head towards the noise, he was shocked to see that the librarian was standing right next to him.

'How is that possible with my advanced senses he shouldn't have been able to sneak up on me!' Melting Snow gazed at the man with absolute curiosity, with a dash of confusion. 'What kind of stealth technology did this man possess.'

As Melting Snow studied the man, he saw that the librarian wasn't even looking at him but at the bookcase that was in front of him with deep concentration.

After pretending to clear his throat to get the NPC's attention, Melting Snow said, "So is everything correct?"

"Yes, from what I can see, all the books on the shelves are in the right order," Pan Yingjie replied, still a little shocked that the boy had done it ahead of time.

"Does that mean you won't kick us out?!"

Turning his head away from the gigantic shelf, the NPC nodded and gave the boy a genuine smile. "You have completed the task I gave to you, so no, I won't be banning you or your friend."

As soon as the NPC said those words, a familiar ding sounded in Melting Snow's ears.
